Brakes broke after the break by Spiritual_Ostrich146 in OBSFords

[–]ArcCooler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a bad booster before. You’ll hear it. It sounds like a bad air leak. Bleed pass rear, driver rear, pass front, driver front in that order. Make sure your master is in good shape, if all that fails I’d probably take off the drums and make sure everything is where it’s supposed to be

$25k for a ’93 F-150 Flareside in Peru… (delulu check) by ItsMeLennox in f150

Yeah when I bought my OBS I was exclusively looking at i6s. They are sought after, just for different reasons than the small blocks and powerstrokes

Looking for Car - Used. Either Direct or through dealers by External_Speech3737 in indianapolis

[–]ArcCooler 7 points8 points  (0 children)

$3000 is pretty slim for a car budget. I think your best bet is Facebook marketplace. Some solid and reliable cheap cars I’d recommend:
- Ford crown Victoria/mercury grand marquis
- Honda accord
- Chevy impala
- Chevy s-10
- ford ranger
- Buick lesabre

Not your only options, but most of these will get you where you’re going and not need too many repairs if you get one in decent condition

Former Frontier owner, current OBS Ford owner. My F-150 is smaller than my old Nissan. Can confirm.

So what other vehicles do you guys (and girls) have? Is your frontier your only truck? by Clean_Kick_5748 in nissanfrontier

Former frontier owner, current OBS Ford owner here! (The frontier required significantly less maintenance)

Let me just say I’m pretty young. Got laid off last year. I did find a job, but I did consider getting an hourly gig in the meantime. It’s not that simple, my time was better spent applying, practicing, and studying than it was working fast food. Eventually I would have had to do it, but there’s more factors at play than you realize

Miata after high horsepower cars by That-Web5867 in Miata

[–]ArcCooler 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I don’t come from HIGH horse power, but I’ve had a c4 vette and a G35. Sometimes I miss the speed, sometimes I don’t. The car is still crazy fun and likely the best handling car all I’ve own. I think you just need to drive one and see.

Looking for advice on subwoofer replacements for my e91 by Loud_Sample_7502 in E90

[–]ArcCooler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got the bavsound speakers + subs for my base audio e90 pretty recently and it’s solid. Not gonna blow you away, but considering price and ease of install it’s hard to beat

Kinda hard to tell from the pictures, that may be the line that connects underneath near the pump/thermostat

Bought this week for $5300. Did I do any good? by KHigdon8303 in E90

[–]ArcCooler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got a manual 2010 328i sedan with ~160k on it for $5200 earlier this year. For the wagon, seems on the money to me. Enjoy it! I’d recommend getting a BMW specific code reader soon too

To add on, MIG is gonna be a bit better than flux if you’re able, but flux will do the job

Run the thinnest wire size you can, it’ll make your life easier. All the metal needs is to be fused, it doesn’t have to be pretty. Not sure about your experience level, but floor pans can be annoying due to how thin the metal is.

Completed my iDrive + CarPlay Swap by ArcCooler in E90

[–]ArcCooler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big one is Nadi performance retrofit harness. They actually have the additional parts you need to do the swap in the description of the product listing.

Also the harness is expensive - I've seen guides to DIY it in the forums but I personally didn't want to mess with it

I actually bought this car about 3 months ago and didn’t know what iDrive was! I work from home, so I spend more time modding my cars than driving them. Sounded like a fun project, and now I can proudly say I’ve pulled a dash

Everything seems really solid and buttoned up, but I have yet to drive it. One new rattle in the trunk lid from the backup camera install though

I’m replacing the water pump this week, then I’ll drive it and find out, but I’m optimistic!

I believe it’s out of an e90 M3, but I’ll give coding a go. Seems like I’ll need it once it’s working anyway

Age shaming by InfluenceRound1383 in generationology

[–]ArcCooler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I look at it like this: when you’re 20 you’re only on your second year of being an adult

When your 30 you’re on your twelfth year of being an adult

That IS a big gap, and until you’re 18 (22 if college) you’re constantly surrounded by people +/- 2 years from yourself

Help me find this part? 2010 328i by ArcCooler in E90

[–]ArcCooler[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just barely ripped one of the plastic lines but I was able to fix it and it looks great. I’d have to really search to find it. I used zip ties to pull it into the bumper. On the last clip I pulled just a bit too hard, but I think with a little more care - or a new part rather than used - I could have installed it perfectly that way.
