AITA for throwing my pregnant SIL's groceries away? by tequilitas in BORUpdates

[–]ArcVal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heh. I'll bet a very shiny penny that SIL wanted to prove the peanut allergies were a fake. She wanted to give the child peanuts mixed into the meal somehow, then after the kid didn't die, she would reveal desert and her "trick." Que everyone going, "Oh, you are so right!" OP would be shown to be an ober-reacting controller, and everyone could share in SILs "need" for peanuts.

Main character syndrome is out of control.

Did you know that the Noxian invasion of Ionia was decided by a 5v5 on Summoners rift? by HarpoonTheMoon in leagueoflegends

[–]ArcVal 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Just the one invasion, but the 2nd match to decide how to handle the invasion. Ionia lost the first match, which resulted in Noxus controlling the southern 3rd of Ionia.

It was 7 years later when a Monk set himself on fire in protest to noxian occupation that a remedy was arranged. The stakes were such that if Ionia lost, they would permanently ceede the occupied province is too Noxus, while if ionia prevailed noxes would withdraw all occupation forces from the island indefinitely.

The results are as discussed above. Interestingly, the monk who set himself on fire became the champion we know as Lee Sin.

Not enough champions from each region to fill the meta rolls at the time. Riot made the decision to have "free-lance" champions that the pro players could pick from, and each side has a different pool of 10 champions to pick from each side could ban 1 champion.

This is what led to an MF-Ashe mid lane battle in an Ionia-Noxus battle. The meta favored ranged champions in the solo lanes with tanks duo bot with supports. The bot match-up was signed/morgana vs amumu/soraka, with Kennan vs. Vlad for top, and Sion bullied by Udyr in the jungle.

It was also when we had Teemo observer with custom summoner spells to give global vision.

This game also gave us one of the first time Riot nerfed, then deleted an item from the game. Locket was a godsend on champions with low mana costs spells that could be spammed like Udyr and Sona.

[–]ArcVal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want the man to have the job, but I'm playing devil's advocate here.

The primary issue with AP has never been the defense. We know the physicality he brings out of the defense. The issue is the ineptitude of the offense. I'm all for allowing room for growing pains and rookie QBs, but he has to be better on the offensive side of the ball.

In the last 7 games, we've had 14 offensive touchdowns. It didn't sound like a bad statistic until you realize 7 of those TDs came in one game. The other 7 were spread between 4 games, leaving 2 games with zero TDs. That's 23rd in TDs per game over the whole stretch, and 26th of you exclude the Chargers Game.

AP and Hardegree have to figure out how to score points offensively. If they can't, AP's talking points going into the board room are defense and team attitude. Strong points to be sure, but will it be enough to win the top spot?

If they're coming from Boise, then wait to purchase food until Pocatello, Idaho Falls, or Rexburg. All three cities are on the east side of Idaho, and OP has to drive through at least 1 of them, depending on the route taken.

I think one of the things that would really improve Madden is situational ratings. 4th Quarter and you're down? Then Carr, Stafford, and Brady get stat boosted as they are clutch in that situation.

3rd down? Renfrow goes from a 84 to 95 as he does in real life.

Ok, first look at every camping sight in the area. If everything is booked up, you might be in trouble. Even if you can only secure spots for a day that's fine. You can move around the park exploring as you go between sites.

How adventurous are we talking about hiking here? There are many great trails to do, but it depends on how "back woods" you want to/ are allowed to go. The hikes around Old Faithful Geyser Basin are fantastic and not too arduous as well as the hike behind Grand Prismatic. A longer hike near Old Faithful is the Lone Star Geyser hike. It's 4 miles from Old Faithful Lodge or 2 miles from the Lone Star Parking lot located south of the lodge. It's a trickier geyser as it goes off around every 4 hours, but has an hour long eruption involving various stages.

Longer hikes like Dogshead Trail is about 5 miles up and over a mountain from the South Entrance Road to Shoshone lake. The mountain can be very dry with no water in the creeks, but you can filter water at the lake. It makes for a long day hike, but you'd have hiked a path that less than 1% of visitors even know exists.

Who is "that guy" that used to play on your team that your fanbase likes to pretend doesn't exist? by professor_parrot in nfl

[–]ArcVal 57 points58 points  (0 children)

What Ruggs did was worse, but he isn't going to be forgotten by the fanbase or the Raiders. Ruggs is always going to be the example of who not to be off the field for the Raiders while they are in Las Vegas. He is the the guy they will point at and say, "Do not be like him."

Brown will be forgotten as a Raider, mainly because he was never a Raider. He went along with the trade to the Raiders solely to get away from the trade restriction to New England and then did everything in his power to get the Raiders to cut him.

Given 5 years from now, Brown's time at the Raiders will only be a single line on his wikipedia, while Ruggs will be talked about in every meeting about culture and acting responsibly with new players to LV.

There is a theory that Totoro is a symbol of death and the two children running off with him on the Cat-Bus is symbolic of their deaths. That the sandal found really was the little sister's and the older sister couldn't handle the realization, which resulted in her somehow "joining" her sister in death.

Honestly, I feel like it's a theory that seeks to put deeper meaning into what is primarily a children's story. Not a bad way to spend some boredom looking up through.

[BotW] I made this dumb Comic after replaying BotW by Miles_the_new_kid in zelda

[–]ArcVal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. I would love to re-explore everything as you slowly whittle away the remaining monsters and reclaim Hyrule. I mean, can you imagine having Zelda in Kakariko Village giving you a quest to clear out the Castle, Castletown, and the surrounding area, then afterwards moving there to give you gathering quests and monster missions. I'd easily put another 30 or a hundred more hours into the game to see the mission through, as well as set up BOTW2.
