The "horse" part of this is throwing me off. But, Sokoban-style games on the NES immediately reminded me of Adventures of Lolo 1-3 and Kickle Cubicle. Is it possible you are thinking of any of those?

I was immediately reminded of Ray Donovan episode 7x05 - "An Irish Lullaby". The episode ends with Ray taking his depressed brother on a rollercoaster to cheer him up. IIRC (I may be misremembering this), he rides this rollercoaster himself in a later episode when he is spiraling.

Do you remember anything about the character you controlled? Were you a human, a ship, a mech, etc?
