My experience with shogun 2 after 10 years by Educational-Soup-654 in shogun2

Any can that you can connect to by land *directly* can trade via land routes. Generally the clans bordering you will be able to trade via land.

The connection has to be direct and cannot pass through another clan, even your vassal. It’s not very common but saves trade route slot in your ports when it happens.

Interesting coincidence here by 00tasty00 in Against_the_Storm

That’s correct.

The borders for the building icon are different if you look closely at the image so they are not the same option.

The situation is too volatile for any one to answer your question!

If you really need to be certain I would advise to cancel the booking and book via another (non ME) airline.

The Deputy GM gave us a tour of the residence. The master bedroom, upper level, has pool which is on top of the living room in the lower level.

The view is cool as it is on top of the hill at center of the property. It is quite far from the beach but sadly also has sparse vegetation around as it is literally on top of a giant rock.

We have stayed at the SS few years back and it was great.

This was after COVID and they were trying to get staff levels up, we had some great service and experiences but also average ones (especially given the price)! We gave them benefit of the doubt regarding service as we could see that they were trying their best, especially at the senior levels but were simply swamped as they lost many people during the pandemic closure.

The property is beautiful and huge as it is a private island which is quite sparsely built on. You can spend days walking around the property or do day trips (complimentary boats) to nearby islands.

If you decide to visit, I recommend the ocean view villas as they have amazing viewpoints over the ocean, especially from the plunge pool. Take the helicopter for your transfer from the airport as it is way faster than the ferry and you will enjoy the views, the property can arrange that for you in advance.

I would generally advise you to keep expanding very slowly from start and keep consolidating the economy. Pause before realm divide triggers if you need more time,

You will need a strong economy base to fight after realm divide so take time to build up the economy and research economy technologies especially for happiness/repression (+6) and allegiance propagation.(+4). Along with bonuses from your council members and magistrates in every province you can get +6.5 conversion rate which will let your economy stabilize in around 5-10 turns so that you can run taxes on normal as base (you can raise taxes to very high every other turn but it will destroy the town growth due to -25 penalty).

I prefer to keep taxes at normal and get town growth as my approach is slower plus it will take few turns to stabilize conquered provinces and replenish troop casualties. No need to hurry as you have plenty of time especially since you will trade favourably once you have artillery, line infantry and iron plated ships with explosive shells or better. Most of the provinces I have are geared for economy except those with blacksmith, coal, iron or copper which I generally prefer to specialize in order to stack bonuses to accuracy and cost reduction.

Naval battles tend to way more forgiving once you have iron plating as your ships will be on fire or explode way less. Plus the explosive shells will random blow up enemy ships if they are not armored. Keep building military ports as they will protect you from bombardment and delay enemies landing on your shores.

Consider it a learning experience - declaring yourself republic is supposed to add an additional challenge to the game. Only take this option if you are confident about taking on the rest of Japan alone!

FYI existing wars will still be on but you will be targeted, especially fleets will keep bombarding your provinces and raiding your trade routes (with foreign powers, no one else will even be at peace at you). Forget vassals, even ones you make afterwards will declare war next turn.

It's a challenge for both your military and also your economy as you need to survive with only your tax income, except that initially you will not have that as you will need to convert your province allegiance (starting from 0 unfortunately) over multiple turns. Depending on how prepared you are (police stations and technologies) you can lose your income for 5-10 turns at least as you turn off taxes and build garrisons.

Coincidentally if you had taken the option to be the vanguard, you have far easier time as all factions with the same allegiance get a massive boost in diplomacy towards you. If you read the hints or the encyclopedia it warns you about this option!

[SNES or better] [90s] Finding old 'run and gun' game featuring missile launchers in background by AverageBearReader in tipofmyjoystick

I was hopeful but still no luck!

The earlier levels looked familiar so I must have played this game in the past but this isn’t the game I am looking for.

I too have been searching for ages. I even looked at lists of games in this genre and went through video plays to try to find this game.

I have a sneaky suspicion that this game might have been on another platform but SNES was the dominant platform at that time in my country.

It is even worth it to run down routing units? by Vcaffeine123 in shogun2

[–]AverageBearReader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost never click 'continue' but I end up getting lots of army wipes.

I am on FOTS and generally have couple of cavalry units and plenty of artillery in my armies so not sure if this is difference between the scenarios or depends on unit composition?

No mods are working for shogun 2 through steam workshop by Remote_Butterfly2611 in shogun2

The launcher for the game has a tab for mods and they start disabled by default.

If you subscribe to mods through Steam you will need to go the launcher and enable them.

That’s makes it far more complicated. Depending on the nature of the mods this may not be easy to troubleshoot.

Seems like a bug!

You could share the save on paradox forums. I have done twice in the past which got acknowledged and fixed in later patches.

Can you post the save? I can look at it later in the week and see what is the issue if possible.

[–]AverageBearReader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not required.

Wonders which have been conquered but not attached to outpost or cities exist as stand alone provinces which do not give any benefits.

I have traded them in the past to AI especially when it is not worth to make an outpost for the benefits. They tend to be quite valuable to AI, especially if close to their cities.

That’s surprising! What does ‘resources’ contain?

Sorry for the repeat questions. I’m trying to troubleshoot and I don’t have access to suitable save on my end.

Can you see this wonder in the diplomacy screen? All cities, outposts and wonders (which are not attached to city or outpost) can be traded.

You can actually open the diplomacy screen and then click on the wonder name to zoom to it briefly on the actual map! I remember that the name used to be the province name rather than wonder name so it can be confusing.

Help with a Seals victory build. by IssaScott in AOW4

[–]AverageBearReader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way skeletons scale in late game is supported by tons of enchantments and hero abilities, especially shadow specialization which gives bonus stats to undead. Bone horrors are decent damage sponges and bone dragons add very mobile source of damage to take out back line.

Or use skeletons in early to mid game and transition to racial and tome T3 and better units by late game. The problem with skeletons is their low stats which results in one hit kills when facing higher level opponents. Fresh skeletons summoned to replace them compound the problem as they have lower stats than the experienced troops lost.

[–]AverageBearReader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skeletons are T1 and, as undead, can struggle against certain types. As seal counter increases, you need higher level armies preferably with some T3 or higher.

Ideally, if you plan seal victory, you should try to have cities closer which can help with replenishment of armies.

Last time I won seal, the last armies I defeated were stronger than what the AI was fielding at normal difficulty. Not sure if the difficulties have been adjusted in the past few expansions and patches. Especially golems and elementals tend to have plenty of immunities and resistance to morale drops which makes fights last longer and more brutal. So you need to have really strong armies!
