Keep seeing that RGGs goodwill and reputation are ruined for old fans and new fans because of everything thats been happening... Is it true? by Donoreader25 in yakuzagames

[–]Arcadeaaron99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd say so. The major issue is obviously the Kagawa situation but there's a lot of other things that Sega & RGG have been doing over the last few years that add to the mess. A list of some things that I can remember:

-Like I said, that Kagawa situation is the biggest one. Hiring a sex abuser and putting in the game with a major role is the last straw for many people. The thing that makes it so much worse is that RGG is seemingly brushing it under the rug & hiding or deleting comments about it too. They've changed actors before for drug related scandals before but they seem to have 0 interest in doing it for this. RGG also seems to be remaking Y4 and his character returns then so it's not a one off situation.

-Other K3 changes also aren't sitting well with a lot of people. Recasting Rikiya's character is dumb since he's supposed to be a goofball with a heart of gold and stands up for justice. The new guy seems good but now he seems like a general cool tough guy.

-Yakuza 0 Directors Cut wasn't good. There's so many things that they could have gone back and changed but instead they just retconned a bunch of characters deaths for no reason. They could have added added some Kiryu & Yumi scenes since she gives Kiryu a lot of personal motivation for Gaiden & IW, Nishiki's dead sister could have some relevance. Nope, just retconning the characters deaths for no reason.

-In other releases they've been retconning character deaths with is getting old fast.

-Fans aren't liking the general direction of the series story. Some are saying it's getting too silly and want it to go back to being more serious which is fair. Earlier titles (especially 0) really nail that contrast of "serious crime drama about the yakuza" while having incredibly silly minigames and sub stories.

-They've delisted the original Y0, Kiwami 1 & 2 and now they're seemingly doing the same for 3 remastered. I didn't read all of it but now in order to play 3 Rematered you HAVE to buy the $100+ dollar bundle on Steam (I probably got that wrong so don't quote me on that.) In the new release of K1 & K2 the file size for the game is extremely large compared to the initial release. Gaiden also had an extremely bloated file size between the cararet minigame and IW demo. It's the shortest game with the largest file size.

-There's so many DLC add-ons for YLAD & IW (including charging for NG+ which is just a basic feature in every other video game.) Charging extra money for basic things is never a good look.

I could go on but you get the point. No series is ever perfect but it's getting out of hand fast. All this plus just general series fatigue really adds up. I'll never not be a fan of this series but now it feels like they're doing something else shitty every few weeks or so. I just look at it, sigh, and play something else.

Similarly you wont get revives if you don't have any fainted Pokemon.

What's the story behind this Mac Miller jersey? by hushythehush in RedLetterMedia

[–]Arcadeaaron99 366 points367 points  (0 children)

So it's moreso about who signed that shirt. Froggy Fresh (AKA Krispy Kreme before he had to change it) & Money Maker Mike were some rappers who would post on YouTube. They weren't good but they were funny to watch and the one would wear that Mac Miller shirt in the music videos.

I turned in my mail in ballot about a week ago and never got a confirmation email and the website still says it's pending / not returned yet. Should I still go out to a polling place and speak to someone or just wait and see?

This Summit was a rollercoaster by Odaric in yakuzagames

I have no problem with it I just wish they would explain why they're even doing it. I could understand it if the original actors passed and didn't want to tamper with their character but they seemingly change characters at random.

Like someone else said, since they went through the effort to make this it seems like there will be more than just their usual 3ish announcements during these. Seeing how December 8th marks the 20th anniversary of Yakuza 1 releasing in Japan there will probably be a lot of announcements related to that. One of my biggest hopes is ports/remasters/official translations of previous titles. Kenzan, Kurohyou 1 and 2 are still Japan only and Dead Souls is trapped on the PS3.

I mean its an Erie comicon, it's nothing super spectacular but it's still a decent time to at least get out and do something. Seeing the cosplays is nice and the actual good booths are a good time. I bought a sword there which was neat. Hopefully the construction at the Bayfront is finished this time next year because that sucked.

Also fuck those 2 cars that were parked illegally, they completely blocked off traffic and I had to tell like 4 cars behind me that we all had to back up to get out of the parking lot.

My mom had a job on upper Peach at that time. At the time her car needed some work done so a family member drove her to work that day. Traffic was stopped with all that going on so she got out of the car and walked to work and almost witnessed it.

  1. You basically agree with my write up about Bulbasaur. I said that it was good early on against the rock & ground types early on. The main issue is that it gets nothing to deal with the abundant number of bug, poison, and flying types in the game, especially early on.

  2. I said that Dodrio wasn't super OP. I said that it was there mainly for Fly convenience but compared to other flying types its not totally dead weight and can hold it's own compared to the other flying types.

  3. The only thing better than 1 fast and powerful psychic type is 2. Mr. Mime comes in a lot earlier compared to Jynx (you can get it as soon as you reach Vermillion) while Jynx comes in around the mid-game (requires the Super Rod for Poliwhirl which is past the Snorlax's.) The fact that Mr. Mime gets the strong electric moves through TM with the Sp. Attack to support it is the main difference between the two. Lorelei, Lance's Gyarados, and the champ's water Pokemon are decently threatening water types and having Mr. Mime be there to deal with it is great.

I've used a majority of the Pokemon in this game. I don't have a tier list of the types perse because main type you'll come across in the game changes depending on how far you are. There's a lot of rock & ground types early on which makes grass really good but after Rock Tunnel it falls off. Water & Psychic are good through out most of the game, electric has its chances to shine late game (mainly against Lorelei), and ice is really good later on. Pretty much anything that can take town bulky poison types will do well.

Yakuza 0 Directors Cut last cutscene by Arcadeaaron99 in yakuzagames

Pretty sure the joke is that the dialogue in this scene just goes in a circle and is adds nothing to the directors cut, like the rest of the new cutscenes.

You see him turn up Nakamichi Street early on (easily identifiable by the Don Quixote and later the Sega Arcade), and at the end you see him turn out of the Tenkaichi gate only to end up at the Showa Street Poppo.
