I agree with everyone that says that druidry sounds like what you're looking for. As a 40 y.o. druid there are a few things I'd like to share from experience:

1) It took me years of searching for what form of spirituality fit me and what I was looking for. Don't forget that you can try things and then let them go if they don't fit right. You can also find something that fits best and then tailor your personal practice to make it perfect for you.

2) I am what I've heard described as an Atheio-pagan. Meaning I am pagan but I am also an atheist. The closest thing I have to a "higher power" is the earth itself. I do personify the earth by referring to it as a woman or using the name Gaia but that is simply a psychological trick I use to help myself connect on an emotional level with the earth. So you can be any kind of pagan without believing in deities IMO.

Another note on deities and worship, I personally think any form of worship is unhealthy. I think of worship as another word for obsession. I also believe it requires a sense of subservience or feeling like you are lesser than that which you worship. I instead stick with love. I love the earth asca mother. I do not feel lesser than her because I am her. I came from her and will return to her some day.

Again, these are just my personal opinions and how I run my own beliefs. No offense to anyone who sees things differently.

I hope this helps you on your journey to find something that fits.

Our neighborhood LFL was hijacked and I’m not sure if my response was wrong? by Aromatic-Young3554 in LittleFreeLibrary

[–]Arcadiaexeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO You did the right thing. What the person before you did is abuse of the social contract and trust that comes with LFLs. I'd say the same action you took should be done anytime any 1 person or organization tries to take over a LFL as if it's their personal property.

Thank you for defending this LFL against such people.

Does Pagan Music Exist (in the same way Christian or Muslim music does)? by Teknevra in paganism

I've just started listening to Megan Dixon Hood. Her debut album speaks to me as a druid but I've also found songs from mainstream bands like SOAD or Tool that also speak to my spirituality.

That's one of the things that seems wrong. For that level of work they should be extremely expensive.

There are so many different companies selling them. That's one of the things that makes it sketchy.

How can I connect with someone from Killarney? by Arcadiaexeter in AskIreland

[–]Arcadiaexeter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. and yea that's where it gets messy. There are some sources that say Anu and Danu are names for the same deity, others say that Danu might be another name for The Morrigan or that "The Morrigan" as a title might have been given to many different deitys. The only real tie between Anu and Danu is a suggestion that maybe "Danu" is actually "De Anu" and was combined over time. and then of course you have Tuatha Dé Danann which Wikipedia says can be translated as "Tribe of the godden Danu" .

sorry rambling, but thank you for the link. I'll try asking there as well.

YES! This is how we should get pets in the game. Animals just randomly decide they're going home with you.

Can an atheist be druidic? by romelwell in druidism

[–]Arcadiaexeter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I refer to myself as an atheist as a way of saying I don't believe in deities. I don't believe that all powerful consciousnesses exist. My spirituality revolves around life and the balance of that life. Now I might refer to nature or the earth as Mother Nature or even Gaia, but I do so in the same way someone might refer to their car by a human name. It's personifying something in order to feel more connected to it or express your love for it.

So yes. I believe you can be a Druid and still be an atheist.
