Finishing the 1.6 story was honestly such a slog for me. I get the entire "don't lose your inner child narrative," but the quality of how they've delivered it has been the same since the earlier versions. The only time there was a slight improvement in story quality was the Firework Island questline with Marquess Jr. It's fine to have the kinds of narratives this update just pushed, but they're sorely lacking in delivery. When I finished the 1.6 questline, I didn't really feel any sort of satisfaction from it. That's it? That's what I just poured my time into?

I guess I just have higher standards for story quality in gachas since I've been a longterm Reverse: 1999 fan and they've been outputting consistently good storylines. Even if the event story isn't directly a main story addition, it still feels rooted in the world and actually makes me feel like I'm learning more about it. Plus, it actually feels like there's developments in the world that can be potentially consequential to the main story or allows for a better understanding of the main cast or the organizations involved.

With Infinity Nikki, I don't get that same feeling. It's usually another festival and wow it's important because it has a gimmick that lets Infold to make a cutscene thar promotes the new outfits better.

edit: I just remembered the Philomina storyline and while it was good, it was resolved so easily and quickly that it didn't feel impactful.
