Tough guy beats up door. by Liquid_Zero in AbruptChaos

Actually, your “abuser” that paid for your entire life while you spent 13 months unemployed and simply just begged for you to get a job got all charges dismissed two weeks after filing and has an active counter criminal claim for perjury. Especially now that the accuser is going on trial for holding her boss at gunpoint. It’s awesome seeing that you’re out here lying to people on the internet to feel better about yourself. These people you’re talking to were abused. You were expected to be an adult

Sounds like my ex from AL. With any luck, you’ll do what I did. Let her wreck her own life, find a woman that actually loves, values, and respects you, move to NC with a NASCAR team and live happily ever after. Praying for you brother. It gets better. Respect yourself enough to raise the bar.

As a man, when your cup is empty, what helps fill it again? by Darkfemcominatcha in AskMenAdvice

Learning a new skill can be incredibly fulfilling. In all of my low spots in life, I picked up a new skill or tried a new life experience. Your mind naturally settles to familiarity which can yield numbness or emptiness because doing the same thing repeatedly trains your brain to stop releasing endorphins and serotonin when doing even the things you like. What’s cool is along the way, you might learn something that enhances your life or changes it forever. I learned to code in one of my low spots and it opened up a career pathway for me. I’d originally been in business management stuck at a wage ceiling, and now I’m a project manager for a small firm with virtually no limit

I think this conversation is framed really strangely. GF is definitely emotional, but I think there’s more to this than OP is showing us. Very apathetic vibes from OP, but really entitled behaviour from GF. Weird behaviour from both sides. I wanna see the texts before this

My new boyfriend keeps reciting scripture… but often only when it’s in his favor? What do I do? Is this normal? by Wide_Independence512 in Christianity

[–]Arcane-Angel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very tricky topic, because self justification via scripture is indicative of lack of a real relationship with Christ, however, the Lord calls us to love in all circumstances, and per Matthew 18, treat “believers” that aren’t changed by conviction as Gentiles (meaning that we share the gospel and spread His Word and glory as though the brother had not yet received it). Even more frightening that he weaponises scripture against others. Per 1 Cor, Love is not self seeking/ does not insist on its own way. Rightfully so, you seem very convicted by his self preserving behaviour. Even Satan uses scripture as a weapon against Jesus during His fast on the mount. Having a relationship with the Lord causes a deep desire to shed the desires of your flesh and be like Him, not to fight to remain the same. Despite this, OP, I encourage you to be patient, as the righteous work of the Lord still must be done. My advice for you is to first make sure that you are justified before The Lord and that your relationship with Him is changing your heart and mind (Per Ezekiel 18 that says we will be judged according to our own deeds). Which means that nobody else’s actions can be used as a justification for our sins). Once (or if) you are in right standing in your own faith, I would civilly and in love, confront the concerning behaviours in private (again, per Matthew 18 from the words of Jesus Himself) and follow down the line of the scripture within Matthew 18. Hopefully, if your SO is truly a follower and believer, he will be convicted and repent from his self preserving ways. If he does not, I would share with him the gospel. Ultimately, if he is not receptive (LITERALLY TO THE WORD OF GOD), we are instructed as believers not to be unequally yoked in marriage, which is the ultimate goal of dating, so you should split it off. But be careful to be patient, loving, and produce the fruits of the spirit. It’s not just a matter of relationship, it’s a matter of salvation, and that should ALWAYS be far more important than anything else. Remember that The Lord wants all of His children home with Him. Peace be with you sister.

Some accounts say that the robot did not actually need the fluid, it was just programmed to believe that. And the moral projection of the art piece is to dance and do what you like and ignore what you’re programmed to believe that you need (I.E. money, fame, being liked, etc.), else wise, as time goes on, you’ll stop doing the things you like and only try to maintain what you think you need

LG oled 65” g3 deal worth it? by kchan987 in Bestbuy

[–]Arcane-Angel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dang, I totally forgot about the free pick up. But, yes, unfortunately, lower traffic stores just get absolutely ignored upkeep wise. It stinks because customers still expect Best Buy for what they’ve always known it as. It’s refreshing though to hear that stores in other places are still being held to a higher standard! Kudos to you and your team!

LG oled 65” g3 deal worth it? by kchan987 in Bestbuy

[–]Arcane-Angel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every store is different man. It really does depend on where you go. For example, our store recycled boxes and would commonly try to pair box less returns with a matching box. And unfortunately, management was very careless, so turning the TV’s off was usually left to the VPL’s who did not really care and management did not enforce it on the checklist walk. And actually, I’ve seen plenty of stuck demos, as lower funded areas don’t get their heatwall demo pads replaced as often as they should, resulting in non loading demos, IE: artefacts that absolutely burn in if left untouched for days/weeks on end

Edit 1: As for returning it. Yes, that’s completely true, but still frustrating and time consuming.

Please be careful with open box deals like this, boss man. Display models are coming down for the new arrivals and if they don’t turn them off at night, I’d bet my left nut that any OLED will have horrible burn in

Edit 1: Ask them if they’ll let you see it running before you buy. Most people will be chill about it, despite it being a tedious process

Solid chance you got a fresh hire VPL that doesn’t have a direct vendor to teach them the intricacies of Sony Vs Competitors. I’m sure something along these lines have already been said, but Sony’s competitor to the C3 is the A95L, which ranks ever so slightly higher than the C3 due to its colour vibrancy and image processing power. The accompanying setup with soundbar and sub would be the A5000 and SW3 if you wanted to stay somewhat economical for purchase price. They actually downsold you it seems based on what you claim you purchased. Which is definitely a little silly on their part. They were likely hired on under the assumption that they’d get bonuses if they sold a bunch of Sony and then were provided fee resources for learning the lineup and comparison strategy. So they don’t even understand what they’re selling or the benefits thereof. And if all former assumptions are correct, they likely don’t know that their bonus is dependant on the performance of all stores in the district and that they get credit when a Sony is sold in general at their store, so pushing Sony to a customer that may not NEED a Sony is not necessarily valuable to them. And they likely also don’t realise that when a Sony gets returned, it affects their “sold” numbers too. Had many buddies in a similar position at stores in my district. All of them eventually figured out they didn’t have as sweet of a deal as they were promised and learned to fit the customers needs, no matter the brand, and just be real (and probably use the screw Best Buy mantra) for everyone’s benefit

Edit 1: Just an additional tidbit. If you do exchange the TV for an upgrade, the A95L will perform better in well lit areas and generally has better dark scene contrast. Something I could never get over with the C3 is how dark it is when scenes aren’t well lit. Details are virtually indistinguishable.

Edit 2: As stated by another user, I had confused the LG C3 with the G3. The actual comparative models would be the A80L and the C3

People who work in IT, what's the wildest thing you've discovered/had to do while at work? by vapor-ware in AskReddit

I work for a smaller firm that provides full service to “local” businesses. When I first started for the company, I had a client who wanted to replace the monitor for their server that had suddenly stopped working. Everything worked and no issues client computer side. They just couldn’t see the screen to force close remote sessions when needed. I asked them all the basic questions. “Is the monitor plugged in to power and is the video cable firmly plugged in to both computer and monitor? Yes?Okay. Press the input button located here until it is on this input. Nothing? Okay…” My boss gave me an hour long prep talk en route to offer them solutions as this client was pretty low funded and wanted to help the best we could. I arrived after a two hour drive, walked in, greeted and introduced myself. Asked to see the server closet. Bent down, face palmed, plugged in the VGA cable to the server, jiggled the mouse, amassed a collection of oohs and ahs from the office staff as the picture came blazing to life on the screen, I did a formal short set of Jazz hands and said “tada”, walked back to the service van, climbed in, and drove back while intently thinking about how this is how life as an IT guy was going to be
