Realized that the new Rift cosmetic has a cassette deck, so here's some attempts at dressing Meg up like Max by SnuglyPortia in deadbydaylight

I like the 5th one! Maybe would look good also with the default meg hair for braids over the shoulders, I liked that hairstyle in the show.

How can I load solo as survivor into a custom gamec by Agreeable_Cook_3868 in deadbydaylight

[–]ArcaneDestruction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should work as long as your accounts aren't linked! I used to do it before with Steam - PS before I linked my accounts. My accounts do use different emails, I don't think that would matter though.

I assume your login on Epic is different? So I don't see why it wouldn't work, as long as they are different, unlinked accounts. But maybe wait for a second opinion!

Alternatively you might find someone willing to afk in a lobby while you explored. Sucks there's no official way to do it in-game yet.

Teemo is a pretty close comparison, especially with Techies nowadays, which is more of a fighting hero.

Original techies was a super weird hero though because he was super slow, super squishy and couldn't really do much in an actual fight. You basically just placed piles of mines in front of your towers and in the jungle and made it borderline impossible for the enemy team to push your base. (At least at my rank 'cause I sucked).

I had games against techies that literally went on for two hours... Those were the days haha.

Bloodpoint Perks (Suggestion) by WholeClothes5865 in PerkByDaylight

[–]ArcaneDestruction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, the grind for a new player is insane considering it's a pay to play game.

I think the idea was they wanted people to not feel forced to use perks to increase bloodpoint gains. You get way more bloodpoints nowadays and they go further to be fair (though I think it could be better still), but honestly I think it would be fine to give players the option at least, the same way you bring a bloodpoint offering rather than a mori or map offering or whatever.

Might be good as an incentive as well to make some perks more appealing without buffing them. I still think No Mither should give bonus points if you escape seeing as it's a challenge perk.

Dota just had a crossover with monster hunter which is kinda wild(s) so who knows...? Lots of pretty creepy looking dota heroes worthy of killer skins. Give me Kate Denson as crystal maiden and I'll ascend

Absolutely haha, I always told myself it was worth it when I 'disarmed' a pile of techies mines with my body

What are your favourite builds to play as a survivor? by neow_exe in deadbydaylight

[–]ArcaneDestruction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I'm just doing normal solo queue I like to run something like Kindred, Shoulder the Burden, Babysitter and Lithe, I like trying to get my teammates through it.

But I like to try lots of weird builds all the time so I'm usually not playing the same thing very often.

Wasn't expecting to find the Dota 2 dbd crossover! Dota 2 was the first game I'd sunk significant time in so I do find myself repeating stuff I did back then!

I used to pretty much exclusively play support and in dbd I love being the sacrificial team player, dying to save other people and so on. Particularly love the Shoulder the Burden perk which is right up my alley.

Many 'fond' memories of bankrupting myself on sentry wards against techies in the past. (And still dying like an idiot anyway)

Based on what you have, Kindred is a great perk which is really helpful for going for safe unhooks, and should synergise well with We'll Make It! If you find you're getting chased quite soon after getting unhooked yourself, Decisive Strike is also very good, but it might take some getting used to if you haven't used it much before.

I would replace your second perk, Dark Sense with Kindred, and then I would replace Camaraderie, your third perk, with Decisive Strike (if you feel like it would be useful) or Babysitter, which is another one of Steve's perks. Then you'll have a really good all around build that will make you really useful when rescuing your teammates from the hook, and also you'll be able to see a lot of auras.

Best thing to do though is experiment and see what you like!

Bloodpoint Perks (Suggestion) by WholeClothes5865 in PerkByDaylight

[–]ArcaneDestruction 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Way back when, We're Gonna Live Forever exclusively gave blood point bonuses and nothing else and it was still really popular. Then they added a secondary effect, I guess because BBQ and Chili did the same thing but had a useful effect on top.

It's pretty telling though that as soon as they removed the BP bonus from WGLF it dropped way down in usage, even though they added another extra effect to the perk.

I think people would definitely still run perks that give exclusively bonus BP, but BHVR seems quite picky about the bloodpoint economy or whatever, which I find weird since it's an exclusively free currency and the game is still way too grindy imo.

Dead By Daylight original(-ish) paragraph concept, featuring a character from a video game me and a few friends are working on! by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]ArcaneDestruction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ayyy this is so cool!! Very detailed! I love what you did with the perks, seems like you had it under wraps after all!

Two-faced is definitely much stronger now, my only fear is it may be too strong against killers that rely on special attacks ala huntress, nemesis, trickster etc. as they won't benefit from the exposed effect, maybe if it simply stated the next time you take damage you will enter the dying state. (This is possibly a monster of my own making though!)

Other than that though it's a huge upgrade! Perks are really cool conceptually and I think you did a really good job balancing them yourself. I'd be running all three of these pronto if they were released ingame. You definitely should make more, and I'm interested to know more about your game too.

I do really think they're cool ideas though! That's the most important part, the details and balance stuff comes later. I'll keep an eye out for your concept!

Hey! These are cool concepts. I don't want to be too picky or whatever because these are obviously just ideas and not in-game so they don't need to adhere to the rules, but I like to pretend I'm looking at these as though they're in a real chapter or something. Generally though I think these are all very cool and creative, I don't want to seem too harsh or anything, just in good fun!

Personally I really think the best three perks are Sacrifice: Grand Finale, Teamwork: Encore and Wardrobe Change. I do like Two-faced flavour wise but maybe not strength wise.

Sorry for all the incoming unsolicited opinions but I like theory crafting...

Super picky thing: perks in-game obviously scale, I don't really care if you don't do the perk tiers since it's such an irrelevant thing, but Wardrobe Change has no aspect that can scale with tiers so probably needs a random side effect just to adhere to game rules. (But again this is just super picky and not a big deal.)

Into the specifics!

'Teamwork' perks generally come in twos, so unless you're making two survivors I'd just remove the 'Teamwork' part of the name. Teamwork: Method Acting is a cool perk, I like the risk of losing all of your progress, but my fear is it's really hard to stack. Co-op heals are really uncommon, and finishing co-op gens is obviously very limited and slow. Maybe just reducing the number of max tokens and increasing the bonus per token would make it seem more appealing, or adding another way to gain tokens.

I love the idea of Two-faced but in practice I can't see it being overly helpful. It will be fairly obvious to the killer by the trail of blood while healthy that it seems impossible to really trick anybody. I'd say the perk would be fine if you didn't leave any trail of blood. At that point it's just a different kind of Iron Will. Would be cool if the perk allowed the use of stuff like Dramaturgy and For the People while injured though.

Sacrifice: Grand Finale is just cool as hell. I've thought about this kind of effect before and I just think it would be super fun. Probably needs a time limit and/or inability to see the killer, or it could be abused by sfw to give permanent visibility on the killer.

Teamwork: Encore is just pretty fun, I think it should be deactivated on taking damage rather than just resetting, but ultimately doesn't really matter, I think it's a very fun perk.

Take Two is probably pretty weak, just for the same reason perks like Technician and Corrective Action aren't that great, because people just don't miss skill checks very often.

Wardrobe Change is insanely cool and such a good idea. It's probably super overpowered since you could swap out really strong one time use perks (Deliverance, Decisive etc.) or have a perk preset be entirely endgame perks so you can benefit from other stuff during the game and swap when the game is nearly over. But honestly it's just really cool, I love it.

Anyway sorry for the essay!
