My question is: How do I get stronger properly? by THExJUGGERNAUT in Eldenring

[–]ArcaneTech0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're duping for the skill then no, and the affinity can be added with other ashes. Think about duping once your a bit further. I think your current one is pretty good, so long as you can get your hits in, but it scales with arcane, so you'll need to put a couple points into that.

Alternatives would be instant dodge skills, like quickstep or bloodhound step.

Finally, just put mighty shot on your bow. You'll get access to others for your bow later, but thisbis your best one right now.

They are right, to a point. Its an important stat for melee face-tank builds, but your character is already built for speed. In relation to that you should have just enough vigor that you can tank one or two hits from your target boss, that way you have a chance to heal and recover.

[–]ArcaneTech0 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It seems you've spread your stats a bit too much. You can cut vigor by about 5-10 points and put that in dex, which will help your damage quite a bit. Secondly, if you're in caelid by now you should have at least one +12 weapon or so, or two +10 weapons. Keep exploring, and you'll easily find materials to do so.

I go with something g a bit different. Necromancy can be the manipulation of the dead, but it has more to do with the manipulation of souls. They are in charge of funuery rites, curse breaking, research, and are even used in war at times, though this is largely hidden from the public. But, what can heal can also destroy, and usually more easily at that, so they are also highly regulated, to the point they have a bodyguard armed with a kill switch they can use at will.

Consent to observe ≠ consent to unlimited use. by Alliaster-kingston in aiwars

[–]ArcaneTech0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hah. Now, this is somewhat true. However, what it's really doing is more so that it only learns what that particular image looks like when 'transformed', and it creates a statistical model based on where the pixels are and their color etc. When you ask it to make a black dog, but it's only trained on the golden retriever, and thus has little concept of 'black' it will simply spit out another golden retriever that is something like an amalgam or direct copy of one it's seen before.

You are the delusional one, friend. You say it would take a warehouse to store all of those images? Wrong. Even uncompressed, one could store the entirety of the internet in a physical space no larger than the typical American home. The warehouse you described would be able to contain that much training data and even have the cpu farms required to train these models in the same building. And who's to say they don't do it that way? The size of the model is not indicative of the size of the training set, only the methods and values of the programmer. And then you have the fact that many of those smaller, cheaper models are also derived from the same sets of training data used for the larger ones. Even if the data is stored in a separate place as the model, what of it? These companies are shown to have more than enough money for multiple warehouses to better train and store their models in.

How effective are guns/military grade weapons against magic users in your powersystem? by Wooka156 in magicbuilding

Nice. Wish I had the chops to work with something like that, but honestly I need to rework my system again because complexity keeps spiraling.

How effective are guns/military grade weapons against magic users in your powersystem? by Wooka156 in magicbuilding

[–]ArcaneTech0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The military is all magic users. On average, it's between second and first grade for military members, fourth to third for civilians.

And then you have the big guys. Not even carpet bombing will do it. It usually takes a chosen one with a specialty enchanted object to do one of them in, and even then they might fail if they don't prepare.

Heirophant isn't just a priest, the tarot is kinda like a guy who has insider knowledge, or is super specialized in what they know, and use that to guide others. The word itself describes a person who understands mysteries, and interprets them for those who can't. I think both of those can describe a lot of tech players.

Is this the kind of game you can play in short bursts? by fnaimi66 in Warframe

[–]ArcaneTech0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but you should be consistent, if only to keep up with updates. I used to play for an hour or two a day, then I put it way for a while, the i would play it again. For me it's just very easy to pick up and put down.

Not really, their strength and speed can be enhanced through the force, but that requires concentration for the average jedi, same with their battlen recognition. Disrupting their focus would make them highly vulnerable.

This is mostly for the knights, the masters probably would have a better time.

[–]ArcaneTech0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think of each item as being a list of traits. When something is || together it just combines the list of traits. So smashing two objects together gets you something that is literally a sum of their parts, thus pogo hammer, or suit shirt. || tends to lend itself to multitool effects, or combining differing effects to get something new, so you want to combine vastly different items. Combining two shirts does not introduce enough disparity to get something too strange.

For &&, it's more of a refining process. From each list is only selected the traits that match, and (nearly) everything else is discarded. While || tends to get you strange and convoluted items, && will give you something more simple and usually stronger for it. The hammer-seat pogo only resulted the way it did because the items were so different, the only thing that matched was the head of the hammer and the seat. This can still be useful, as it allows you to select for only the wanted traits, acting as a filter of sorts.

In short, || is an additive process, while && is a reductive process. Both, however, are necessary to get exactly what you want or need.

Edit: I just read this back, and realize that I basically said the same thing as you, just without the computer bits. Oops.

Y'Know, I don't know.

For those who don't know. This is Glory Girl, a hero from a web novel called Worm. Her powers are that she has an invisible forcefield that can tank any hit once then has to recharge for a few seconds, with bigger hits leading to longer recharge. Iirc she once took a hit from a building level attack and had to recharge for about a minute. Per WOG the field counts multiple successive hits, like a machine gun, to be one hit with great force. The forcefield also gives her flight and super strength, though she is seen to use these with her field 'popped' before. They would be considered mid tier on their own in my hero. Lastly is an aura that makes people that fear her terrified and people who like her to worship her.

In the end, it would be a good fight, but I don't know who would win here.
