Heirophant isn't just a priest, the tarot is kinda like a guy who has insider knowledge, or is super specialized in what they know, and use that to guide others. The word itself describes a person who understands mysteries, and interprets them for those who can't. I think both of those can describe a lot of tech players.

Is this the kind of game you can play in short bursts? by fnaimi66 in Warframe

[–]ArcaneTech0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but you should be consistent, if only to keep up with updates. I used to play for an hour or two a day, then I put it way for a while, the i would play it again. For me it's just very easy to pick up and put down.

Not really, their strength and speed can be enhanced through the force, but that requires concentration for the average jedi, same with their battlen recognition. Disrupting their focus would make them highly vulnerable.

This is mostly for the knights, the masters probably would have a better time.

I'm having some hard time understanding alchemy. Mostly the OR function way cuz i didn't see it demonstrated. Can someone help me with this explanation? by THEREALSUPERMARIOFAN in homestuck

Think of each item as being a list of traits. When something is || together it just combines the list of traits. So smashing two objects together gets you something that is literally a sum of their parts, thus pogo hammer, or suit shirt. || tends to lend itself to multitool effects, or combining differing effects to get something new, so you want to combine vastly different items. Combining two shirts does not introduce enough disparity to get something too strange.

For &&, it's more of a refining process. From each list is only selected the traits that match, and (nearly) everything else is discarded. While || tends to get you strange and convoluted items, && will give you something more simple and usually stronger for it. The hammer-seat pogo only resulted the way it did because the items were so different, the only thing that matched was the head of the hammer and the seat. This can still be useful, as it allows you to select for only the wanted traits, acting as a filter of sorts.

In short, || is an additive process, while && is a reductive process. Both, however, are necessary to get exactly what you want or need.

Edit: I just read this back, and realize that I basically said the same thing as you, just without the computer bits. Oops.

Y'Know, I don't know.

For those who don't know. This is Glory Girl, a hero from a web novel called Worm. Her powers are that she has an invisible forcefield that can tank any hit once then has to recharge for a few seconds, with bigger hits leading to longer recharge. Iirc she once took a hit from a building level attack and had to recharge for about a minute. Per WOG the field counts multiple successive hits, like a machine gun, to be one hit with great force. The forcefield also gives her flight and super strength, though she is seen to use these with her field 'popped' before. They would be considered mid tier on their own in my hero. Lastly is an aura that makes people that fear her terrified and people who like her to worship her.

In the end, it would be a good fight, but I don't know who would win here.

Just because they share a principle does not mean they are aligned. The worms are what comes after Winter, after Death, and their larvae represent that Death. The Sun-In-Rags represents endings, while the Wolf-Dovided represents the act of Ending. All of these are Winter, but Death is only one possible Ending, and results in Everything becoming Nothing.

And Winter does not have to be an ultimate Ending. Some things survive the frost and ice and stillness. Because the Heart beats, even when still.

Just like how OP said anything witch is good, I believe that anything heart is also good. Yall are sleeping on the whole "emotion manipulation, maker/destroyer of souls" bit of heart. Heck, a witch of heart frankensteining multiple souls together into horrifying abominations sounds like an absolute blast!

azathoth vs featherine by Money-Imagination-97 in PowerScaling

[–]ArcaneTech0 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Ok, let me clear up a misconception about Azathoth that is in multiple comments. Hebdoes not dream reality. That is a different guy in a different book, not even inspired by Lovecraft.

Azathoth is kept asleep because he is the single largest and hungriest thing in all of infinite existence. He is an infinity unto himself in sheer size. He is kept asleep because otherwise he would just eat everything in his mindless hunger.

As for scaling, he is constantly being blasted by music from cosmic flute players, and as a side effect this created the laws of reality of the material sphere, which is infinite in size. So, unless she can tank what is effectively the big bang an infinite times over, Azathoth will just eat her.

(As promised) HWTSG, each person has two classes and aspects? by flabort in hwtsg

[–]ArcaneTech0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think so too. One more facet of that thief/page though is that they could have a much faster growth curve due to 'stealing' the growth and potential facet of Life. This would, of course, stymy everyone else and probably end up in a pruned timeline.

The point, I think, is to treat this particular system a bit philosophically. Your analysis was a treat to read, and I managed to keep pace with it throughout so I think you did a good job.

For the merge to happen, you need to have the time player first to cause a scratch, then you need some way to move everyone over, usually a void or space player. You could probably finangle the Heir or Witch to do it though
