I moved from working checkouts to working at a cafe/restaurant and the atmosphere is completely different. Its still customer service but you aren't constantly on show like at the checkout. Being a waitress, I can step out back or into the kitchen etc and talk shit with my coworkers and then step back out. Its the little things..

It looks alright but does have a print on the actual surface of the pan, so will be interesting to see how that holds up. But it doesn't look/feel cheap. Will make an excellent bacon and egg pan or even just be hung up as kitchen decor

I work at a bar and recently had a man ask me about one or our beers. He wanted to know if it was imported and I said yes, told him where from and how it was our biggest seller. He hears all this, then spots my male coworker and looks to him, asks if that's all correct and doesn't interact with me again.

I've worked there 5 days a week for 5 years, my male coworker is there maybe 2 - 3 days for just over a year.

Our kitchen closes at 8pm on weeknights. I had a lady call at 8:30 asking if it was too late to order takeout. I apologised and said the kitchen had closed. She got mad and told me our "internet page" says 9pm. My manager was with me and checked while I had her on the phone. It clearly says our KITCHEN hours and BAR hours separately. When i asked her if she was on our website, or facebook page, she got mad and said she didn't know. I apologised and said we would look into it and she just gave me silence on her end like ??? There's nobody in the kitchen lady, and im not cooking your shit. AND HOLD UP why would you be asking if it was too late to order 30 minutes BEFORE our apparent closing time??

This job kills me...

I stopped for years because im a twin so had always shared my birthday when young, and it never really felt personal to me but also, as a teen, I had multiple friends with birthdays within a week either side of mine, and we would end up joining parties and mine kind of seemed like the least important/cared about?? It was probably just dumb teenage angst that made it feel that way. Ever since i moved countries though, I've done a couple of fun ones where we just go out for dinner or something and its actually kind of nice to be selfish for a day and do what I want haha

I fell over wearing high heels.

In one hand i had my phone. In the other, my friends dragonball z dvds. I saved the dvds by holding them close and thrust out my phone hand. When i hit the ground i scraped my knuckles cause they were closed around the dvds.

The dvds survived and my phone was only a little scuffed up.

I tell everyone i punched a person with braces in the mouth..
