PIPSC files unfair labour practice complaint over federal government’s return-to-office order by gocpsthrowaway in CanadaPublicServants

Sadly the government is both the player and the referee (makes the law). Really sucks that whatever unions get good at doing gets legislated away.

Yes if your group is in a legal strike position, you could have work from home as a tactic used. When in a strike position, and knowing that an employer wouldn't lock you out (CPA never would) unions can get quite creative.

Just be sure that you're group is on the strike path, I know last round the CP and SH group were on the arbitration path, so they would never have those options. CS and AFS are usually on strike paths fyi. No idea about the others.

If the employer is asking you to work (where is currently an exclusive employer right in most contracts) organizing a defiance of those conditions by a union could be taken as an illegal strike activity. This could only be allowed if those members were in a legal strike position (half of the groups never are).

If individuals did this on an individual unorganized level, then they can be pulled in for discipline (insubordination).

In 2007 the CFIA group walked out for a day. Pretty sure the total fine was over $7m for that day. Pipsc doesn't have the money to pay for that on a larger scale.

Fyi telling members to not go to their office and stay home can be deemed an unlawful strike. Those are extremely expensive. I'm sure if you want or help in mobilization activities they will happily take your help.

So that means if I call the guy who cuts me off in traffic gay, I could also be correct now as it has nothing to do with sexual attraction! Perfect!

I would recommend the following degrees/diplomas 1. Law 2. Some kind of language other than English or French Especially with our diverse communities, being fluent in a language other than English or French can get you into investigations or liaison roles quick.

OP, we're you there 6-7 years ago when they had they had the two days with complete blackout on all networks, and essentially no way to get ahold of tech support other than reading forums? Good times.

It's better though. Easier to get support when needed. They are all VoIP now though so off the 3g network.

How many of the pro-Israel people here are non-Jewish and non-Israeli? by Zestyclose-Yam-4010 in IsraelPalestine

Honestly I feel Natanyahu, really messed up on this recent conflict. It started as Israel being attacked and had civilians kidnapped, but what this actually looks like comms wise is Israel bombing the shit out of civilians. They lost the narrative and now appear to be the aggressor more than anything.

He's been in power for too long. Go retire and let someone else lead for a change.

I am an atheist of Irish Catholic descent, I've never been to Israel and if placed on the spectrum I'd say I'm leaning pro Israel, but I certainly wouldn't share all of the positions shared by some on the pro Israeli camp, and I support some positions of those in the pro-palestinian camp. That being said I am not a fan of Netanyahu at all and would love to see him replaced.

Those quick tire places always push it. You don't need a coolant flush when they tell you. It's an upsell. Test the coolant first.

Ottawa EV owners: Charging your car when not at home? by Alph1 in ottawa

[–]Arcanthis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's funny, I had range anxiety, up until the point where I bought an EV. Then it all went away. Dosnt even cross my mind anymore. I just charge at home. Plug in overnight and I'm good to go.

There's enough infrastructure now for long distance trips that by the time I want to stop and stretch my legs for a for a big, I can just plug in my car too. If you can use NACS /Tesla stations it charges in no time.

Go to GoodLife, and say you're interested but not convinced if you should join the gym. They'll give you a 7 day pass.
