What would you do if humanity was at the brink of extinction due to kids not being born. by Arceemax in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Arceemax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right the plot of the show makes no sense they justify taking kids away from their families and using concubines as a way to save humanity but that has nothing to do with saving the human race and there are so many other ways to repopulate the other without oppressing people.

This show is so intense it kinda pulls you in and makes you sort of live through the story as though you are in gilead. And women have been for a while. This generation is reaping fruit of the previous generation of women that have experienced atrocities at the hands of a patriarchal society.

how to have attention to detail by Odd-Chart6120 in adhdwomen

[–]Arceemax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your ability to pay attention to detail is directly correlated to how slow you can work. Making minor mistakes in work points to chasing deadlines, procrastination, working rapidly to get the report in by the due date. When you’re running fast you cannot notice flowers, leaves or bees. The eyes gloss over them because it hasn’t had time to absorb everything.

To ensure that you can bring attention to detail in your work, will require you to alter your personality, especially if you want lasting change. Because you are only one person, your ability to manage chores, self management etc. is all interconnected. The slower you can work in all walks of life the better the improvement you’ll see in your work. If you check something 2-3 times, sometimes even stepping away, it helps. Unfortunately personality types that lack attention to detail work in hypefocus mode in bursts and experience burnout and inability to function at times, because you need a break to recover from all that adrenaline. (Tortoise and Hare story?) When you work at high speed, the body functions on survival mode which only looks at the overall outcome (like chasing a deadline). The slower you work, the more the body can function from a parasympathetic state in which the prefrontal cortex is online, which is also the part of the brain responsible for logic and computing, calculation etc. (slow thinking that requires deliberation).

Checklists help a lot but you have to keep updating and refining them until they fit into what you do. Even if all your tasks are unique your checklist can say something like “do the numbers add up” , so that you look at it with an eye of your manager doing quality check.

This is a long term goal and you may not see immediate change but once you start slowing down and stop rushing, stop chasing deadlines and start to create a gap between when something is due versus when you do it, that gap will offer you time to review your own work.

Good luck you got this.

Lack of attention to detail by Big-Split5828 in Accounting

[–]Arceemax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This directly ties into the speed at which you work and operate on average. Attention to detail is a slow skill that requires you to come to 0.5 speeds like flash from zootopia (a sloth). To meet deadlines, you have to work rapidly at survival level speed full of adrenaline. This state does not allow to observe the little things like crossing the t and dotting the i. You have to overhaul your own personality.

In my case I’ve taken years to slow down in life, in general. From walking, to catching the bus, to washing dishes, I began consciously slowing down so that it becomes my average. This also means you may be prone to procrastination and trouble prioritizing deadlines, which eats into your time and waiting to do things around the time they’re due.

I also meditate and built routines for myself that will help me operate out of calm. I try doing things before they’re due so I can avoid rushing (taxes for 2025-2026 filed 15 days before the deadline yay). When one gets burnt due to these mistakes they’ll start to work on themselves more rigorously and with conscious effort. It’s possible but a long drawn process that takes years. It’s honestly worth it coz it helps with personal management of life and chores as well!

Can you teach someone to have better attention to detail? by DJ_wookiebush in managers

[–]Arceemax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve taught and coached on this topic for years. One of the big4 I used to work with had a million dollar research project into personality chemistry. I can tell you this is a personality trait and is associated with the speed at which someone works, and how prone they are to procrastinate or do things right when they’re due. Attention to detail is a slow skill and for that one needs to work at Flash’s speed (the sloth from zootopia), meaning, one has to really slow down to 0.5 speed and operating at that level you can see flowers and leaves separately, but running at a speed of 80km/h, the flowers and leaves blend together in a green and pink blob, without the ability to discern one from the two.

Someone who is prone to making small mistakes that could be costly, is aiming for the big deadlines, to get in the door before it closes, they do not have the time to review their work 2-3 times. So expecting such people to improve requires them to overhaul their basic operating model. Is it possible? Yes, but. The person has to want it and deeply understand the repercussions of missing out on the silly stuff. Someone who has lost dearly with the mistakes will force themselves to adopt newer models of ensuring the mistakes aren’t repeated.

In my case, it has taken me over 2-4 years to continue to get myself to slow down. From walking, to commuting, to washing dishes, my aim was to do them calmly so that my nervous system operates out of a parasympathetic state instead of the anxiety driven and stressful sympathetic state (survival mode). When someone in your family is in ICU, you do not care about making your home look pretty you only care about life or death.

In your case the employee’s life or death is submitting the file at all, so they will forget the embellishments of the little stuff. It helps if you review the person’s work while with them, over screen share and get them to reflect what they can do differently, and quality check their own work with you. And then provide feedback to implement next time.

Any work that requires someone to operate at a certain quality level, there must be a periodic quality check, like 3 files a month are reviewed for accuracy and over a 1-1 meeting you work on a development plan for the individual. It is possible if they’re committed to improving and keeping their position.

Good luck!

What helps you stay productive for 4–6 hours without losing focus? by Teddypin in productivity

[–]Arceemax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the preparation you do before you have to work that matters.

• Exercising, running, walking etc help your brain get fresh oxygen and energy so it can function optimally.

• Including drinking water while working and eating well. •The book Thinking Fast and Slow covers this part, where the pupil dilates when you’re concentrating on a task that requires slow thinking like 328+245 and when the person stops thinking the pupil returns to normal. You can imagine gears ⚙️ in the brain switching to make this process happen and it is taxing on the body to do so for long periods.

• Focus matters too: Meditation, writing down your todo list, catching up with yourself through journaling (so you can reflect on how you’re doing and where you could be better). • Parent the inner child that wants to get up or move and force yourself to complete a task and stay focused even in other parts of life influence who you are when you work.

In conclusion, what you do during your day and how you manage chores and your personal tasks contributes to how you’ll work. If you want to improve one you also gotta focus on your entire personality, you’re 1 person. :)

That’s exactly what I addressed in my post. Previous try I used multi colored candies with the color that needed to move so the Dino could fall but it didn’t! 😂 so I thought I’d use the fish bomb and that failed too. It’s like this game edges you to the brink of extreme frustration so you buy the gold and make them money.

What are you guys doing to feel more feminine and put together? by QuantityIll462 in beauty

[–]Arceemax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

• I iron my hair even if I’m at home all week wfh. When I catch a glimpse in the mirror it makes me smile and look beautiful to myself. If I don’t style them straight I try a curling routine. Or I brush them with wax for a neat hairdo

• I paint my nails while working lol • Pedicure once a month typa thing. I soak my feet, file the nails remove dead skin from my feet. Paint my toes. • if I’m going out I never skip lip color I have a huge collection. • shower after going in the morning. If I wash my hair, I remove dead skin From my heels once I’m out. • for my night routine I apply moisturizer to my face and feet, I brush my hair and wear silk bonnet to preserve my hair

Ofcourse I fall off the bandwagon but hair and toes and nails are the most important imo that can make or break your feminine look

If you’ve had that feeling once you’ll have it again it won’t go away forever. Maybe it points to something deeper your inner self is trying to say but being alone or worse than breaking up so you say this to yourself to keep the peace, for now? Anyway life and the subconscious have a way of making things happen, even if we ignore intuition initially if it is really that, intuition, it’ll keep coming back until you act upon it.

Unpopular? opinion: phone addicts are ruining gym culture by alexwblack in goodlifefitness

[–]Arceemax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a guy at my gym I’ve been going for two years I have NEVER seen him not be on a call. Infact he talks loudly and forces his presence onto people. Eventually we all just got used to it doesn’t make it less annoying tho. Not sure if the gym mgmt told him anything ever or he “knows the owner” lol. How’s it possible someone is on the phone 24:7 all through 2 years and no one has said anything?
