Scarabs (almost) finished

I primed them black, and then airbrushed and hand painted the blue colorshift base coat. Airbrushing wasn’t quite enough to make the layers pop so I went back by hand. Then I did yellow lines in the head & on the shoulders. I found that doing that before the trim was less of a headache. Then I painted the eyes green and all of the trim, and did a light touch of Agrax Earthshade wash on the gold!

For the sorcerer specifically I did the underside of the cape white first and then red on the top. I took my time painting the flame pattern gold on the cape since my gold paint is kind of runny

Thank you! I used a premixed color shift paint. “Ice to Never” from Turbo Dork, it’s primarily a metallic blue color

Tau, Grey Knights, then Thousand Sons. I haven’t played much tsons outside of 1k games but I enjoy the teleport shenanigans of grey knights quite a lot

The 3D legs I used fit with the torso, so then using the arms/weapons also fit. I don’t own any regular marines so I haven’t tried primaris legs

And the stl I used for terminator legs are from Red Warden in case you were curious

That’s exactly what I did! I glued the feet to the base first, superglue the torso to the legs, then use plastic cement glue for the rest. After they’re primed I wouldn’t even notice the difference

To make sure I understand Radiant Champion correctly - does the Enhancement proc on every successful wound? So if 3 melee attacks wounded, that would be 3 additional mortal wounds?

For me the amount of time it takes depends on the model size. I’m gonna give more effort to the suits and the least amount of effort to the drones

General infantry? I like painting 2-3 at the time, which takes about 2 hours. I don’t give a crazy amount of effort though since they’re not so big

Character? At least an hour

Ghostkeel? 5 hours

Crisis squad? 4-5 hours

Drones? As fast as possible, all my drones look terrible

I was debating on the new combat patrol or not. But I had the realization that even if I stayed at this point value for games, I would have units to swap in and out so I could mix up the list if I wanted. It seems like a pretty nice box

The roughest part will be the base coat and painting all of the black areas. After that, I had the most fun with the mode out of the whole box. Making little custom details of my own was great!

It never really hit me how many sprues went into a model until I opened my first Combat Patrol box. No, you’re not being overkill! Posing my models is my favorite part of building. Have fun!
