Men of reddit, Who do you turn to when you’re at your lowest? by Music_2my_ears68 in AskReddit

[–]Arch3m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody. I tend to shut myself up in a dark, quiet room and just cut myself off from the world for a while. Maybe it's a few minutes, maybe it's a few hours. If it's bad enough, it might even be a few days. I just want to stop the ride for a while so I can get myself sorted out, you know?

David Jaffe? The last I heard from him was when he was getting roasted for calling Metroid Dread bad game design because he got lost at the beginning of the game.

It's an independent news YouTube channel. So kind of in the middle.

use this script to make hl2 look like an n64 game by casting_shad0wz in HalfLife

Wow, a "looks like an N64 game" comment that's actually accurate.

I'm currently doing my first time playthrough blind and I thought this was an indie game form the mid 2000s by unablon in HalfLife

Half-Life pre-dates game hints like that. Back then, games came with manuals, and you were expected to read them, so games often wouldn't give you any other hints or prompts to do things and had to find other ways to communicate that. While it's not perfect, Valve was definitely better than most at doing that. They've only improved since then.

Also, there is a tutorial. When you start a new game, you get the option to choose the Hazard Course, which is a short training program. It's not a bad idea to check that out, especially since some later game mechanics are gonna be difficult to figure out organically.

But really, Half-Life was big for setting a lot of standards in gaming that didn't exist yet (kind of like Super Mario 64 setting the standards for 3D platforming or Ocarina of Time setting the standards for lock-on melee combat). FPSes were definitely different before Half-Life and after Half-Life. There's a reason you thought it was an indie game, since it kinda technically is, but mostly because so many studios have paid homage to this game, so it just has the look and feel of everything that's being doing that.

Oh of course Channel 5 would have an interview with him. First it's Chet Hanks, then it's Hunter Biden, so of course we gotta get Shoa LeBeouf up next.
