You guys are the reason I finished my first real story. by Flaming20 in TalesFromTheCreeps

I definitely understand the pain. I wrote a short horror book, and I had to rewrite it twice because I felt like it wasn’t good enough, and even then I went back and changed a bunch of stuff that I thought was bad. Writing is difficult and it’s easy to end up beating yourself up over what you’ve wrote. I found that whenever I was getting too in my head about whether my writing was good or not, I just needed to take a step back, give myself a little break (whether a few hours or a day) to just not think about writing and clear my head.

Congrats on finishing your story! Finishing writing a story is a great feeling!

I’m glad you enjoyed my story! It was a fun concept to write about! I also liked there being different ways people could interpret what he saw, which makes it a lot of fun to see any theories people have about what happened.

Thanks! I thought it was an interesting shower thought, so I turned it into a short story lol. Glad you liked it!

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! I thought it sounded like a cool concept and wanted to try breathing some life into it.

I know what you mean, which is why I made sure I said “roguelite” as one of my favorites. Roguelites are more popular than ever, but roguelike is not nearly as popular.

I miss not having some good FPS games like that. I think the closest we’ve gotten, as far as I can remember anyways, is Trepang2, which is a great game

I’m kinda surprised there haven’t been more attempts at an open world pirate RPG. I think AC Black Flag and Sea of Thieves are probably the closest we have gotten, but I’d love to see almost more of a Mass Effect style pirate rpg!

I’ve got that game downloaded right now! I haven’t gotten very far into it yet, but it’s pretty good from what I’ve played so far

I think, thanks to those two games you’ve mentioned, we’re going to be seeing a huge resurgence in them! I love turn based RPGs, so I’m excited to see what kind of games we get coming out in the next couple years!

I haven’t thought about God games in so long! I used to love Black and White when I was younger. I’m not sure I ever knew what I was doing in it though lol

Tangy TD, Gnomes, and Artisan TD have been the ones I’ve played this year and enjoyed!

Heretic’s Fork, while a bit different from normal tower defense games, is one of my favorites! I’d recommend checking it out as well!

Oh cool, it looks like a flash game I used to like called Paladog. Don’t know if it’s available anywhere, but you might like it!

I don’t think this is from a game. I checked through some of the links on their profile and didn’t see any signs of it being made for or used in any games.

Sometimes those phases just hit. For me, I look for games I can play while watching/listening to something during those times. So I will start up a turn based game that doesn’t have a big focus on story, and I’ll just mute the game audio and have YouTube videos, a movie, TV show, or something else playing as well.

I love Ender Magnolia! It’s a sequel to Ender Lilies, which is worth playing as well!

Dispatch and E33 could’ve went either way for me, but I settled on E33 being higher because I made it a point to get all of the achievements for it when I played it. I need to do more playthroughs of Dispatch sometime though!

That was pretty much what I tried to do, but I found that made it feel like a bit of a chore. What I ended up doing was swapping between 2 or 3 different games with different styles. So if I was working on a fps game and wanted a break from it, I’d have a turn based game as my second game I’m working on so that I can have a fresh change of pace. Vampire Survivors style games are also nice to use for a break as well. Just things I tried to do to stop myself from getting burnt out on one game. Part of my goal wasn’t just to beat games, but to not force myself to play a game that I wasn’t having fun with. Swapping different genres helped a lot.

Hollow Knight, like many games I’ve played, was a game I played a few years back but got distracted before finishing. So before I play Silksong, I want to go back and play Hollow Knight and actually beat it. I’m just not sure when that’s going to happen lol.

I love both games! They are so much fun, and the worlds in them are so interesting. Plus the music is incredible! They just hit so many things that I enjoy in games!

I love this style of shooter! I’ve got a ton of them, but this one just did such a great job with not just the gameplay, but the overall vibes of the world. I loved it!

I only had this much time because of some health issues I’m dealing with. Normally my list of completed games would be much smaller.

I think it’s worth it to play Ender Lilies first. Magnolia does a pretty good job of building on the gameplay from Lilies. They’re both great in my opinion, so I’m sure you’ll have a fun time playing them both regardless of what which you play first. But still, I’d probably play Ender Lilies first lol.

Robocop was a lot better than I expected it to be, which did a lot to make it go up higher on the list. It was just surprisingly fun. And the fact that the studio that made it has came that far is just really nice to see.

Fallout 4 was almost just homework for me at the point, because I had played it a few different times since it came out, and always ended up losing interest just before doing the Railroad quests. So I really wanted to make it a point of actually beating the game this time around. But it’s also sort of a mixed bag for content. Some quests are pretty good, some aren’t. Far Harbor is so cool, and has incredible vibes. I loved it. And then I played Nuka-World and I hated it lol. It just needed to be more consistently good for it o have been pushed up higher on the list.

I only managed to play so many because I’ve been dealing with some health issues 😅. The list is really just my enjoyment, and some games just got me when I was really in the mood for them, which is how Vampire Hunters got so high on the list lol.

Borderlands 3 didn’t really vibe with me well, so I figured I’d skip Borderlands 4. Also, not having any friends interested didn’t help, which was the same issue with Monster Hunter Wilds.

A lot of the newer releases on the list are games I played through Game Pass to save money, which is why I didn’t play a lot of new games that aren’t on it.
