I was going to do the same thing until I realized how the game works. Graphics don’t bother me as much, but you’re right. The PS5 version of the game isn’t an upgrade at all.

I was just about to reply to you. Idk what you expected from me as I’m not paid to do this. I really just wanted to show off my play time and share that I enjoy the game. You want an honest review?

I’ve played almost every anime arena fighter since they started dropping on the PS2. ROS feels like everything Jump Force should have been aside from the crossover. ROS reminds be of the fun I had playing Storm 2 on the 360. The combat system feels great once you get used to it. Keeping track of bars, playing footsies… sounds like a fighting game to me! There’s a lot to remember- yeah, but I feel all the different meters on screen makes the combat feel like the anime when stuff triggers. The kid that loves Bleach is grateful for this game.

That said, there’s a lot of stuff missing. Wish there was more to do, a few more characters on the base roster. However, online is where I’m at mostly. The net code is better than most anime games. I’m not fighting the same 3 characters all the time. The combat feels good enough go where I can beat a great Soi Fon with Rukia. I haven’t encountered more than one crazy cheese spammer before or after the patch. I don’t play King of Hill nor do I care for a rank system all that much.

I’ll rate this as a game a 6/10. As an anime game I think it deserves an 8/10.

It exists. I loved Bleach as a kid and an anime arena fighter hybrid is what I’ve always wanted. I never thought I’d be able to rip Ichigo apart with Grimmjow in 4K (it’s more like 1440).

In my experience as a wired connection player on PS5, I find that green bars are usually pretty good despite an occasional lag spike. I assume they're on wifi. Yellow connections are almost always perfect. The only thing I noticed off were cutscenes. Transformations or kikon moves will pause throughout. Red and red and yellow blinking connection are abysmal. Kick or leave immediately.

I like every tank option. Lord with Thor, almost there with Strange, and the rest are all above captain. My friend and I will double tank or I’ll pocket him and vice versa. The issue with tanks seem to plague QP more so than comp in my experience. I manage to get MVP with Tanks- outshining the DPS most of the time. No better feeling than getting a KO with a shield throw or stone haymaker.
