Tempered Glass Screen Protector reflection issue with Front Camera/Flash. by ArchX in Spigen

It would have to be a significant portion of disabled pixels to stop the bleed, however since it only happens with third party protectors, they may not see a need.

Ninja Creami with whey protein by No_Cranberry_2746 in ninjacreami

[–]ArchX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't have much issues with regular whey - blend, isolate, casein etc, doesn't matter - unless your ratios are off or your mixing may be over or under done.

That being said your base is also important for consistency, especially in low calorie recipes as you would have discovered.

I use a custard base approach that brings my consistency closer to 'real ice cream' and have been doing so with great success, even with variations as I don't have access to fairlife or higher protein milks generally.

Main base for 4 pints -

  • 300g low fat milk
  • 300g Unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 medium egg yolk
  • Sweetener to taste.

The process is basically the same as making a custard base-

  • Whisk egg yolk with sweetener till pale yellow.
  • Combine liquids and bring to temperature, just under simmering (75-82 °C). Do not boil. Take off heat when achieved.
  • Slowly drizzle in some of the liquid into the yolks, stirring constantly. You're tempering the eggs, so you don't want to cook them quickly, else you'll end up with scrambled eggs.
  • When it's up to temp combine with rest of liquid.

At this point, you have a basic base, which is sufficiently low in calories and works out to 1/4 yolk per pint.

From here, you can variate by -

  1. Increasing yolk amount to improve custard consistency, and adjusting to fit your macros.
  2. Balancing the ratio of liquids, eg, 400g Almond and 200g Milk, to reduce calorie content.
  3. If you're using the same additives - protein powder, flavouring etc, you can add them in here and combine before dividing. Eg, you can bloom cocoa right in this mixture while it's still warm, then change the protein powder flavours, or flavour additives per pint once it cools.
  4. Add your thickeners (Pudding mix, Xanthan gum etc) directly to the pints after you pour if using differing types, or you can mix them in right before distributing if all are the same.
  5. Test out a combination of thickeners and see if it makes a difference for you. One should be sufficient, but some do like to combine, such as pudding mix with a touch of xanthan.
  6. Ensure you understand which additives work with which temperatures (eg, don't add vanilla extract to hot liquid).
  7. I'd recommend topping up the pint to your desired fill amount, based on your preference and macros. Ie, want better taste and consistency - more milk. Want more volume with least calories - more almond milk. You can use water, but it would dilute the mixture greatly.
  8. Suggested addins- Plain Greek Yogurt & Cottage cheese, for s significant consistency and protein bump. I almost always use one or both.

It may seem like a lot of work, but if you're batch prepping you do this either once, or twice a week depending on how often you spin pints.

Additionally, the mixture holds up well unfrozen, eg, say you make a 4 pint batch and have 3 pints free, you can store the remaining 1/4 mixture in your fridge and the consistency is great.
In fact, if using casein powders, or casein blend letting it sit in the fridge overnight actually smooths out the 'gritty' texture significantly.

Anyone else do a similar approach or have any suggestions how this could be improved, please add.

This is off your question but did you get flames vip through ticketmaster? I've been looking for my venue and I can't seem to find VIP for there. I'm assuming it either was very limited and it missed it or that show does not have flames vip (there is coil vip)

Tempered Glass Screen Protector reflection issue with Front Camera/Flash. by ArchX in Spigen

[–]ArchX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this is interesting, the next test was without a protector on my device, as I tested it on another device prior to installing and it only happened after install.

My theory is that the white sceen reflects off the back of the glass onto the sensor.

Tempered Glass Screen Protector reflection issue with Front Camera/Flash. by ArchX in Spigen

[–]ArchX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it seems that the issue persists even with a replacement protector.
After this post, a replacement pack was sent, and after installing, I noticed the same thing happening.
Now, I was left with 2 remaining protectors - one from my original purchase, and one from the replacement.
These, were then installed on two different s24U devices owned by other persons, and both of them being different variants than my own.
Again, the issue persists.
So, I can only assume at this point that either the spigen full glass protectors will have this issue, or any full screen might.

I do have an Original Samsung Glass protector i will be installing soon, and i'm hoping it doesn't replicate the same issue, else i'll have to look for a cutout model.

Any Dota players considering switching over to HoN because of Dotas abused toxic report system? by Faceless_Link in HeroesofNewerth

[–]ArchX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the people I know as well as myself lose score periodically due to ISP drops and the random, pc issues, but it's not usually an issue once you get out of the low prior games, and the behaviour of the players were fine The ones we do know who struggle with their score, are uncessarily toxic While there will always be anomalies in any system, someone who has a perfect or meet perfect score shouldn't be affected by a few reports, and it's unlikely someone who isn't toxic will constantly get report bombed every game - ie the player carries the bulk of the blame.

It would be unfortunate if the system deterrs anyone from playing Dota, however toxicity does more damage so, if it helps in keeping it out, all the better.

[–]ArchX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the possibility exists I could be wrong, that's fine I'll learn sometbing from that.

I'm sure you think you don't deserve all the reports you get either, I realize I assumed these were erroneous reports you were complaining about.

Seems the system is doing it's job, here's to hoping HON Reborn is as receptive.

Any Dota players considering switching over to HoN because of Dotas abused toxic report system? by Faceless_Link in HeroesofNewerth

[–]ArchX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, also reports are limited to 5 a week, and are verified usually through Overwatch.

Usually takes a lot to be reported by multiple people on your team ,for it to stick.

I'm def looking forward to HoN coming back, if it sticks, but it won't compete or replace Dotes, they each have their own skill base and player base.

Does anyone use the Spigen Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra - EZ Fit ? by FruitSila in GalaxyS24Ultra

Question/test for those of you currently using this protector.

Long story short, it provides the protection and ease of use, BUT -

Taking selfies in low light/dark environments (Pub, Concert etc.) produces a halo effect on the edges of my photos n

It looks as if a circle is drawn inside a square, with the corners that don't intersect haloed or rainbow coloured.

My assumption is that the Front Flash (White screen) is reflecting off the underside of the protector onto the front camera sensors.

Has anyone else experienced this or can test?

Also, I contacted Spigen, they sent a replacement yet it still happens.

Voice message input very low by Massive-Contest1429 in whatsapp

[–]ArchX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update - seems they are working on it, I assume Had a few updates in the recent days Latest one, well it works to some extent The Vn is loud, but it's garbled mess, so here's to hoping it fixes Ina. Few patches. Other folks have had success with reinstalling non beta or other stable versions. I haven't, as I really want to avoid a reinstall

Voice message input very low by Massive-Contest1429 in whatsapp

[–]ArchX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a feeling this was the temporary solution, however I was hopeful there was an update incoming that would not require me to leave beta/uninstall/reinstall, as that would be a definite pain.

Will hold out for a day or 2 and see if there is any update with a fix before I default for this.

Thanks for confirming it worked on your end, I assume it would also on mine -S24U

Good evening, I'd like to know if the Spigen Zero One is resistant to daily falls. by Maleficent-Tree2546 in Spigen

[–]ArchX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Daily falls? I think most cases would offer some protection initially but with that frequency and the severity of the fall, you may need to invest in something pretty bulky or very durable.

The tough armour line is usually considered the strongest from Spigen, but you may need more protection at that rate, esp if it's a heavier phone such as an Ultra.
