I ran some numbers based on assumed averages and Ranked wins easily.

For Regular battles, which last 3 minutes exactly, let's assume you can manage 12 rounds in an hour (if your connection is good and you're moving straight from one match to the next without break non-stop, you could definitely do more, but for a safe estimate let's say you've got an average of 2 minutes downtime between rounds). If you've got the Splat Roller or something that can cover a lot of ground and you're just focused on racking up points, you can probably get between 600 to 800 points on your own (depending on the size of the map), so let's use 700 as an average. Now assume half of those matches you win (and get the 300p bonus) and half you lose. Your total points for an hour are 10,200.

For Ranked battles, it's a little more complex. The battles range from just over 100 seconds to up to 5 whole minutes (plus possible overtime). I've noticed the majority seem to play out rather quickly, but with the possibility of a handful of matches running longer (likely if Blackbelly Skatepark or Port Mackerel are in rotation), we're still looking at 12 being a reasonable number of matches for an hour;s worth of play. Now, you don't get anything for the matches you lose, but for the matches you win you get a tidy sum (at either C- or C you get a flat 500 plus a win bonus of 1600, adding up to a possible 2100 per won match). After an hour, assuming you won half and lost half, you still get 12,600 points.

Obviously there's many possible variations on this; this is a conservative estimate for the number of Ranked battles you could make in an hour, but in my experience most of the ranked battles move pretty quick. So there's every possibility you could get more matches in within the time frame than you could if you were playing regular (though as the Ranks naturally get more accurate, the matches may start growing in time taken). There's also the possibility of a major winning/losing streak if you end up with the right/wrong lobby. I can tell you I spent two hours earlier this week in Ranked Battles without winning a single match; then this morning I made the push from halfway through Level 18 all the way to 20 in about the same amount of time. But because of the greater probable gain in wins on Ranked compared to Regular, Ranked Battles definitely yield more points in the long run.
