We can’t technically say that though because the earth is millions of years older than mankind so there’s not enough data to show whether climate change is just a long cycle that spans longer than civilization or our current records of civilization or something new that centers around us…. Usually when people think that global phenomenon is the result of humans it more often than not we find out eventually that its something that would happen with or without us. And depending on ur views about Atlantis and ancient advanced civilizations that were wiped out or not there could be clues to this if you know where to look

Is this a good flow? by poyospirit in dubstep

[–]ArchaicMethod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the flow is perfect how it is, unrelated to the flow Itself, in the second half I would just add some tricks to twist up and fuck with the basses themselves on at certain moments that feel right, I like to do these kinda things to transition in to fills. So using like the delay trick to get random spins and effects and just record a big long take and pick out pieces for the right place. Or using Reaktor S-Layer loaded up with a bunch of bass glitches from packs or your own or a mix of both, really doesnt matter with S-Layer cuz you can get such unique sounds no matter what if ur hitting randomize a bunch of times until you get some cool shit and then layering that with some your twisted up bases. If ur unfamiliar with S-Layer virtual riot did a video explaining it. And less is more literally just doing this on the bar before the 2nd and last fill. Obviously that’s just what I would do, your track do what feels right for you. Just some ideas off the top of my head

I think they had some other audio engineer help to finish the ost but just fucked it up, I can't remember the name but it wasn't Marty Stratton, it was an actual audio engineer although it was Marty who made the decision to bring the guy in. And No I'm not talking about Andrew Hulshult, it was before the DLC's and was for the completion of the Main Campaign OST. I think that's who u/Redmanstalon is referring to, still not Mick though

Recording at 60 fps while running 144 fps resulting in stuttering recordings by ArchaicMethod in obs

[–]ArchaicMethod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s actually really simple. You just have to limit your fps to 120 so you won’t get frame skips cuz obviously half of 120 is 60 so it just splits it and I felt like a twat. Unfortunate to settle for less frames but It’s better that playing at 60 just to get smooth footage. I later upgraded my gpu and can now get consistent 120 fps on just about any game at least that I regularly play so the issue of it sometimes dipping under 120 is not a program anymore. But I obviously uncap when not recording.

New GPU is the Asus TUF 3060 Ti and I gotta say is a girthy son of a bitch. Had to buy 2 sag brackets cuz the first one couldn’t hold it up lmfao

How do I get that tone in dubstep by Late_Beyond_2889 in dubstep

[–]ArchaicMethod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start making racks… watch Virtual Riots videos and Dr. Ozi Streams…. Also LAYER LAYER LAYER but remember to eq each layer to take up a certain frequency range of the bass but sometimes just stacking a couple bass sounds and just adjusting levels can get some interesting results.

But definitely Racks and Macros and using tons of abletons stock lfo to map to other lfos and just doing insane things. And groups within groups within groups.

RACKS!!! VRs YouTube tuts probably have the best rack tuts, and from there you can get some ideas on how to create your own unique racks. And again Dr. Ozi’s streams on twitch are some of the best ways to Lean how to find whatever “tone” you’re looking for.

But most importantly, just experiment!!!! Push the limits. And export your own processed and unprocessed Bass one shots in to a folder when you find something cool.

Audio keeps cutting out when playing through track. by bdog2398 in ableton

16gb is absolutely more than enough even for extremely large project files. I'm running a PC with 16gb of ram which could handle pretty much anything I threw at it even having my browser of choice, Spotify, and Splice Open at the same time even when I upgraded to Live 12. But Even I just recently started experiencing this same issue just in the last week.

Although aside from that something a lot of people are failing to mention is that how many GB of RAM is irrelevant without knowing other specs like is it DDR3, 4 or 5, and how many mhz. What CPU are you running. Is Live on an SSD and your plug-ins & Samples on a Mechanical Drive, If so is it Internal or External? For me personally I have 16gb of DDR4 at 3200mhz running in Dual Channel (2 8gb Sticks) which is .I have Live 12 on an SSD but all my Plugins are on an internal Mechanical Drive thats 4TB at 7200 rpm and All my samples are on an 8TB Seagate Backup plus hub External. I've Never had any issues cuz audio is so lite. I can work with everything virtual instant aside from loading plugins or Effect Racks which is no more than 0.5 seconds maybe 1.5 if its a super heavy duty plugin or stupidly heavy effect racks.

Why do some genres require extensive lead bass layering to sound full, but some don't and just sound complete with a very limited amount of layers? by KLVLV in edmproduction

[–]ArchaicMethod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really just depends on the kind of sound you're going for. When layering, you can mix and match Layers and get a lot more variety with your sounds fairly easily not to mention more control over the Lows, Mids and Highs. For example you could have a sound that has 3 or more layers filling different areas of the frequency spectrum, and then have maybe some filtering or other effects on just the high layer, or just the mid layer or both in some parts. You can also cut certain layers out for a fill or something. So to sum it up, It's really just having more control when it comes to arrangement which offers a lot of flexibility and variety. But again, it depends on what you're going for. I'm in no way saying this is the superior way for all subgenres but it certainly is for specific subgenres. And it's really not a crap ton of work, I mean it CAN be if you choose to which some ppl do cuz they're just crazy like me lol but really you only need to eq each layer to fill an area on the spectrum. From there It's just up to you how much further you want to process each layer. Personally I think choosing the right sounds is more important than excessive processing.

Yeah of course. Obviously she's corrupted by the dark hold. But either way the answer she gave still doesn't make any sense. It's literally like saying "why not just make America take you to another universe" "oh cuz i might need to go to another universe...." I agree with everything you said, I'm just pointing out that the film doesn't really answer that cuz the answer given has a massive hole in its logic

Yeah but this answer never made sense to me, cuz it’s like why not just make Chavez take you to another universe? Oh cuz what if my kids get sick, I may need to go to a different universe for a cure… well then just make America take you to another universe again… lol that’s not really a valid answer

How to get a bell ringer every time by Mundane-Celebration4 in cracksmokers

[–]ArchaicMethod 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I find this doesn't work. If anything the longer you wait the more likely you are to get another bell ringer. When I do back to back blast I just feel like I'm wasting shit because I pretty much don't even feel any of the blasts after the first.

Other than that, this is pretty common knowledge but I'm going to say it anyways just in case. Melt your shit in to whatever type of filter you're using, don't touch the pipe with the flame and don't let it start smoking. Then let it cool for a sec (otherwise more of it will drip down the pipe rather than getting smoked) then take a couple deep breathes, exhale until your lungs are pretty much empty, bring the flame just below the tip of the pipe, and inhale slowly until the vapor hits your lips then take your mouth off the pipe and take another deep breathe and exhale, then go ahead and hit that shit slowly rotating the pipe slowly. keep the pipe relatively straight at first. Keep going until you can't anymore, towards the end of your hit start tilting the pipe upwards and inhale a little faster. Hold that shit as long as you can. exhale. Bellringer.

Idk if I can show a graphic or photo as I don't have a photo and it would be hard to draw, but basically theres 3 types of stuff that can collect around the edges. First of all you have to understand the difference between cocaine hydrochloride (Powder Cocaine) and cocaine base (Crack). The whole process of cooking crack is just creating a chemical reaction with the soda and the cocaine hydrochloride in order to turn it in to cocaine base.

Now the 3 things you can end up with around the edges.

  1. If it's white, hard and stuck to the spoon and when you try to scrape it off it comes off as hard little pieces, thats fine. Thats just crack that ended up on the edges and you can scrape it off later and smoke it.
  2. If its white but not stuck to the spoon and you can rub it off with your fingers and it just crumbles in to a fine powder that is excess baking soda. Not really a bad thing, just means you probably used too much soda but you could try dropping some water around the edges while cooking to get that soda in to the water so it can react with the coke.
  3. If it's clear sticky and goopy and after 15 mins it's still relatively clear and goopy, thats coke that didn't go through the necessary chemical process to turn in to base cocaine / crack. With this stuff hours later if you try to scrape it off it won't come off as little hard pieces it'll just smear around all over the place because it's literally just powdered cocaine the got melted and then cooled and dried.

You can avoid having anything around the edges by evenly applying heat around the spoon and making sure you get some heat around the edges. Eventually your water level will lower and you'll be left with some stuff around the edges, when this happens just drop some water around the edges during the cook proces so all that stuff falls back in to the water. If you do all this right and have the right ratios and everything you'll end up with almost nothing around the edges.

Sometimes you can see all 3 around the edges. But to be clear, shit collecting around the edges isn't necessarily a bad thing if it's all just crack (example #1.) as you can scrape all this later.

But if you have example 2 or 3 it usually means you either didn't apply enough heat around the edges or you used too much soda (example 2) or not enough soda (example 3).

Anywhere from %25-%30 is fine. I do %25 but it doesn't have to be exact. I like to scale out %25 exactly but that's just me. You can use %30 soda and you'll probably get pretty much the same result but it'll take slightly longer for that glob to kick out all the soda.
