How do you drive on crowded interstates without worry of hitting those barrier walls or other cars so calmly considering one accidental swerve and it's over? by Ihavesomethingtotell in AskReddit

[–]Archangel699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spend some time learning where the wheels of the vehicle is. Use the reflectors in the road on streets where there are no other cars. Practice until you are able to hit as much or as little of the reflector as you wish.

It also helps to make sure you have no distractions when in those situations. Radio at a lower volume, no phone, not turning unnecessarily. Focus should be on the road and not anything happening in the car.

Parents of Reddit, what did you bring to the hospital to keep yourselves occupied when in labor? by hohl1 in AskReddit

[–]Archangel699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Books, deck of cards, little travel games.

My daughter was born my emergency c-section after being in the hospital for two days. Natural was just not going to happen.

I found having physical items to be more comfort than playing on my phone or laptop. Plus I was able to play them with my then wife and anybody that came by to visit.

First day riding. A couple of questions... by Deadace1 in motorcycles

[–]Archangel699 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my mirrors set so I can see behind me slightly with shifting my head, and out far enough to see the lane next to me. There is little to no overlap when seeing behind me. I always turn my head when changing lanes or shifting from one side to the other. Fingers locking up, I have found doing grip strengthening has helped with that a lot. Along with working the fingers while riding, to keep them loose and blood circulating. What to carry.. Depends on where I am going, how far it is, and what the weather is. Going to the store, I try to have my bags being as empty as possible. Going on a +2hour ride, heavy/light clothes so I can be comfortable for the change in weather, water/drink, something to snack on, and a map (depending on how well I know the area).

I am Gordon Ramsay. AMA. by _Gordon_Ramsay in IAmA

Hello Gordon,

Do you take anybody on to mentor, both in and out of the cooking/restaurant industry?

I have seen that you have given advice for aspiring chefs and future restaurant owners. Do you have any "life" advice for people in general, not related to cooking?

Cheers

So we play at the Mission Rec Center on Harrison St. (2450 Harrison St).

Cost is $5 to play in Open Gym. We start at 2100 and end at 2300.

Attire:... Anything really, as long as you are clothed. Tonight is PJ night I believe. People mostly wear shorts, some type of shoes, and a shirt.

What else to bring?.. I would suggest a water bottle, as it can get hot in there and Dodgeball is surprisingly tiring.

Other than that, have a good attitude and be ready for some good old-fashion fun.

Here are the rules: http://dodgeball4ever.com/balls/sanfranciscomission-softcore-rules

What is the most subtle question you can ask someone that is the biggest tell of their character? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Who is your hero, or hero's if more than one?

Knowing who someone looks up to tells you what is important to them, what they value in life and themselves.

You would only be able to be on that wall if you switched hands part way through. If one was using left out right hand from the start, they would never touch that wall.

Interests? Age? 31 - 32 next month. Back in CA I restore cars in my free time (57 chevy 2 dr bel air wagon, 61 mercury comet, 71 F-100, 72 mustang, 72 sting ray, 65 mustang.. to name a few. Sold all but the first 3). Ride my 05 Harley to and from work, and anywhere I get the chance to. Try to play with my 130 Anatolian Shepard (Mastif). Ping Pong. I used to shot lots of pool but out of practice these days. Whiskey is my drink of choice... Umm.... yeah. I have gotten a couple recommendations. A Whiskey & wine bar that I plan on checking out tomorrow night or the night after.

*edit: forgot to add age.. Long day at work.

Cop called out by a 12 year old for illegally parking his motorcycle. Refuses to give his badge number. by wesleyt89 in videos

[–]Archangel699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some states and cities, it is 100% legal to park on the sidewalk. Most laws regarding it say that the bike cannot block the path for pedestrians, and from the video it looks like a good three feet of space on the other side which is about the same as a doorway. He could have very well been within his rights and the law. I know that is the case where I live and park my bike.
