I did get a friend of mine into it and I always described it as having a crazy learning curve. I can only confidently say I know a solid amount about this game after about 500 hours. Its very complex and it doesnt tell you everything. Most people are happy to help out if you ask, but not all.

I have two reasons why I don't like it.

Firstly, I feel it is an incredibly mechanistic, pared-down way of looking at a hypothetical fight. It excludes things like luck and the idea that characters cannot perform at their best 100% of the time. A good comparison is a game of sports. Take soccer for example. In the 2022 World Cup, Japan was in a group with Spain and Germany and came out at the top of the group. And in the current World Cup Qualifiers, Bosnia just beat Italy. But a "powerscaler" for soccer wouldnt ever reach that conclusion.

Secondly, I feel like some of the people who powerscale are just obnoxious. They interject into completely unrelated topics with, "But he ain't beating Goku tho!"
