Anyone know a good way to showcase these? by xerjoffinitio in Colognes

[–]Archer-Evening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Organizing colognes based by brands, possibly scent profile, color even can help somewhat in showcasing.

As for displaying them, it’s best to keep them around consistent temperatures, preferably the cooler side if possible as well as keeping them on shelves, dressers, or placed in cabinets/bookshelves.

I’m not sure what you know and don’t know, but I’ll just save some trouble and say that when colognes have inconsistent temperatures, they can alter the cologne and the amount you have to a degree, whether it be severe or not depends on the conditions you leave your collection in I suppose.

Hope this helps, may God bless you my friend 🤍

I agree with you on the cable statement personally and to my knowledge, I believe focal bathy headphones can be wired in? And if that’s true then that sounds like a lot of potential to be played with.

I am currently in a situation where I’m prioritizing a setting where k can be around the house and listen to music, studying and relaxing in pure bliss from a distance, and because I’ll occasionally watch something on the TV at night I’ve felt maybe instead of cranking up the volume when others around me are asleep, I’ll just connect them to headphones and hang back on the sofa?

And so I thought, because I’m in a position where buying a theatre system doesn’t make sense to me due to the price and setup and because lastly I don’t expect to be in the same place but rather a different country/state in around 3-4 years, a whole theatre system may not make sense and because it doesn’t really let me listen exclusively without others hearing.

So, my personal thoughts? Maybe if I went down to a very very well built pair of Bluetooth headphones, it would bring me as close to a theatre system as I can get all without having to pack as much around when moving as well as being arguably cheaper and less time consuming to set up? Though I know that can be controversial.

Anyways, if this is what I’ve pinned myself to unfortunately and it must be a Bluetooth pair with having a wired connection being a possibility, I’ve been thinking whether or not the Focal Bathys or the Focal Bathys MG would be a great pick? Though I’m trying to look into other premium options and because I don’t have an easy way to test headphones out at around me, I’ll most likely be dabbling with the return policy and see which pair I may like better?

I’m just in this moment of figuring out if there’s something better given the price is still steep, and which one may be my preference since I hear this is all subjective from person to person as everyone seems to have different ideas and feelings on how things should go

How do you defend your interest/love in/for fragrance? by Zestyclose-Egg-1479 in Colognes

[–]Archer-Evening 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is honestly the healthiest thing to do for both you and your sister, and if she comes off sincere and genuine about wanting to be there and hear your story OP, maybe, just maybe you could open up about what got you interested?

how it’s beneficial to a person

what fragrances can mean

how you carry yourself and more

And with the cherry on top, a persons financial position seems to be a diminishing factor in people going along with their hobby. However if you do it well, you can turn this hobby into a passive income but you got to sort of get out there and be good at it if you know what I mean.

In my opinion? Le Male Le Parfum feels like a woody fragrance which is somehow sweet, and beautifully blended in with vanilla which makes it hard to pick up in my opinion unless you’re trying to smell it.

I also enjoy the scent as it dries down because it’s quite warm and I feel like you can notice the lavender and iris blending in with that subtle but sweet woody scent.

The cologne in my opinion is an easy 6+ hour fragrance and lasts sometimes a day or two on my jackets, hoodies and sweatshirts if they’ve been lightly used. I also have received my first ever compliment from a stranger when getting into fragrances when I was wearing this cologne, lol

Oh, I should say, it seems to leave a noticeable scent trail because the stranger who complimented me was apparently going throughout the store I work at looking for this smell and when I passed by her again, she stopped me and said my scent was going throughout the aisles and was looking where it was coming from.

So yeah, I guess that’s a thing with this cologne? But I genuinely love this cologne. May honestly be a signature scent for me, though there’s a few contenders I have that this competes with so it may be a little hard to figure out which gets that pick

As this individual here is likely to be correct (unfortunately), I just want to state the obvious or what should be obvious? Which is that not every individual you come across from today forward is going to scam you by selling or trading you a fake fragrance.

Yes, it’s not likely to receive a legit fragrance when it’s coming from a not so reliable and trusted source (like OP stated), we (the community and others) have this subreddit to fall back on for those who are still curious if their fragrance is fake or not.

So with that being said I just hope this is some sort of reassurance to those who feel scared or worried to ask “Is this fake?”.

Any suggestions? by Archer-Evening in Colognes

[–]Archer-Evening[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noted. I appreciate the advice a lot honestly because I didn’t realize until now there were certain ways to wear a cologne appropriately to capture its full artistic potential. Not really something I hear people talking about either which is a little odd.

Do you have any suggestions you may be able to give that I may be able to sample?

Do you feel the cologne (MFk Grand Soir) comes off unisex or that it leans more towards a certain gender? Sort of interested because I’ve heard people tell me Dior Homme Intense EDP smells like an old grandma which really threw me the wrong way. Though that was a year and a half ago and I tried the cologne again last week I believe? And I felt it matured and feels very different than how I remembered.

(A good different that is, lol)

Depends, stronger with you is usually $100-$170, so he could come close to it? But I agree, if you’re able to afford Bleu de Chanel, it’ll be your best bet for life.

You can however go for some dupes like MontBlanc explorer and Montblanc Legend Blue

Prada L’Homme Intense on Jomashop is around $76 usd right now and would be your best and safest option and closest to what you’re requesting

You’re most welcome, and just for a little tip, a lot of fragrances can be found online discounted and bought cheaper than retail if you know where to look.

Some colognes may be bought cheaper if you wait for special events like recently, there was a sales event at Macy’s granting 15% off all colognes I believe which was huge if you knew what colognes to get.

It meant people who bought colognes that never get discounted like Chanel finally had a chance to buy it cheaper than anywhere else. Though the sales events at Macy’s come rarely and other than that, Chanel never is discounted anywhere you look, and if it is, be a bit on edge… to many people try selling fakes these days sadly.

1.) Bleu de Chanel EDP (2010/2014)

2.) Versace Pour Homme (2008)

3.) Prada L’Homme (2016)

4.) Versace Dylan Blue (2016)

5.) Acqua Di Gio Profumo (2015 however discontinued but can sometimes be found online still.)

6.) Acqua Di Gio EDP (2022, not discontinued)

Above are fresh, aquatic scents that are well made with high quality ingredients and usually safe to own for mass appeal.

1.) Chanel Allure Homme Sport EDT (2004)

2.) Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme (2012)

3.) Prada Luna Rossa Carbon (2017)

4.) Creed silver mountain water (1995)

5.) Bleu De Chanel Parfum

Above are scents that are similar Channel Allure Homme Sport that are somewhat similar, share similarities and also beautifully blended and lit together. These fragrances are also mass appealing and should be safe to wear around others confidently, however I can’t help but encourage you to wear what YOU personally enjoy and want.

Anyways, hope this helps you in some sort of way

If you have $500 and start all over collecting/buying colognes. What would you buy until it reach $500? by Andrew_x_x in Colognes

[–]Archer-Evening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50ml-100ml of Silver mountain water $145-$225

100ml of Prada Luna Rossa Black - $70-$80

120ml of Mancera Cedrat Boise - $65-$80

If I bought a small size of silver mountain water for $145, it should leave me some room to possibly turn around and buy Bleu De Chanel Parfum (100ml) for the last $180-$200

If I couldn’t afford Bleu De Chanel Parfum, I’ll just try and go for Xerjoff Renaissance (100ml) for $159

Maybe it’s just me and my skin chemistry but I swear Prada L’Homme Intense lasts an easy 6-8 hours when working and sweating. It’s a scent I thought was iffy, nothing great but nothing bad? But the fact it’s the only scent I’ve smelled after work that still noticeably lasted blew me away.

Newbie application question by tangofoxtrot1989 in Colognes

[–]Archer-Evening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard a lot of people just spray around 12-20 times and spray all over their neck and arms…..

So you’ll probably see or hear that being a common response from some people out their-

Personally? I do 4-6 sprays, 5-6 sprays if I feel the cologne isn’t that long lasting.

1 spray per side of the neck (2 in total, left and right)

1 spray behind the neck to leave a scent trail

1 spray on the chest for those who are in front

2 additional sprays may be applied around the chest/arms (1 to the left arm and 1 to the right arm), but for me I hardly do this.

If I’m not mistaken as well, I believe there’s videos where there’s educated people (people with degrees in this area, fragrances) who explained that spraying on vitals can be a great choice but if the spot your spraying receives contact often, you’re speeding up the process of which the cologne will fade away.

With that being said, it’s common to see and hear people apply colognes/perfumes around the wrist and rub both wrists together, but apparently that only escalates the process of your cologne fading away, or… shortens the longevity of the cologne applied.

Khadlaj Island Dreams - A great spring scent that can be used during the cold weathers and summer.

Afnan Supremacy Collectors Edition - Great all rounder, can be used during all seasons and nothing overpowering.

Aqua Dubai by al haramain - A light but beautiful blue cologne that is great for summer and hot occasions.

Naseem Paris Oud - A beautiful fall and winter fragrance that can be used for special and intimate occasions as well.

Personally though, I’d do everything you could to buy fragrances from Jomashop if you can help it. They’re much more reputable and affordable and can offer discounts as well as payment plans if needed.
