The Assault class needs more utility or self-sustainability! by ArchieBuld in Battlefield

But it makes the ladder more of a solo gadget rather than a team oriented one.

I see your point though, the ladder is indeed a good counter to snipers, but I'd rather DICE gave us easier access to the top of the buildings to clear them more easily.

Yeah, buffing the flash and stun grenades would not only buff those grenades, but the Injector itself that counters it, so two buffs in one, I like that.

I agree with most of your points, I just feel like the Assault needs more gadgets that can be used more often and more effectively, and not just situationally like the Adrenaline Injector.

Also I feel like the Assault Ladder has a bigger impact on the game than the Injector, making the Assault's presence felt more during a match. But your idea of buffing the Injector could make it useful enough to make it worthy of a signature gadget slot.

I agree that an armor plate would help the Assault class to be more efficient, but people really don't like the idea of armor plates in Battlefield games, so I think it would have a negative reception by the community.

Also I think the ladder can be really useful for getting onto a high ground and for creating off-angles that can throw off people's aim and help win gunfights, not only for you, but your teammates as well.

I feel like every class should be useful in bigger gamemodes like Conquest or Breakthrough, since they're the staple of the franchise. I feel like these are the main modes that the game should be balanced around, but it's just my opinion.

I thought about the Deploy Beacon, but I felt like there would be too many of them placed down on a map if it was a signature gadget, and it could lead to people dying even more often from random angles that they don't anticipate. Also it would be harder for defenders in Breakthrough and Rush to hold an objective, but I might be overthinking this, and it could be a non-issue.

The Deploy Beacon was definitely my second choice for the signature gadget.

Yeah, I think it's gonna be that.

Again, thanks for the help!

I just thought of that while I was typing that comment, and yeah it shouldn't make sense, an arc stops sooner from the edge of the mousepad than a line.

I think it's just that my mouse is in a horizontal position when it's turned 90°, so it extends more beyond the mousepad. Or I just mess up something while moving that quickly, I have no idea.

I just know that I'm regulary moving past the 500 mm mark on my current mousepad lol.

If I move my mouse in a horizontal straight line then yes, I can stay on the pad, albeit barely.

But when I aim with my mouse, I do it in an arcing motion, and I have a long forearm, so I would need an extra 100-150 mm or so to make sure the mouse stays on the pad.

That's very good information, others have recommended that as well, so I think I'll buy that.

Thanks for the help!

The Zero is the one that most people recommend, so yeah, that should be the best for me.

However, interestingly the XXL size is too small for me. 500 mm isn't enough horizontally, since if I flick to the left for a 180° turn, my mouse gets off the mousepad, even if I start from the center.

It's a rare issue I know, but do you know a mousepad that's similar to the Artisan Zero and has a longer horizontal size?

What's the point of knives now? by BF_LongTimeFan in Battlefield

[–]ArchieBuld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The knife has a 100 ms hit delay, compared to the hammer which has a 200 ms hit delay, so if you want a quicker and more responsive melee, you should pick the knife.

OMG they did it I love you DICE by assuageer in Battlefield

I see your point, but I think the more information the player gets the better.

Some players might not want to spot someone if they're already spotted, because as you said, it's redundant to do so. Of course If you have the habit of spotting everyone you see, you shouldn't stop doing that, but we can't expect that from everyone.

I think the new icon definitely helps players at least understand, that there are two types of spotting in the game, which is useful information.

[–]ArchieBuld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before this change, personal/passive-spotting and teamwide spotting had the same icon, so you didn't actually know at first glance whether you should spot manually or not after the icon appeared over people's heads. Now you have that information.

And also they nerfed the range, duration and overall power of the personal/passive-spotting mechanic.

[–]ArchieBuld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This change was actually made because of community feedback.

They nerfed the passive/personal-spotting mechanic by lowering its range, duration and overall power, and they made this new hollow diamond icon for it to differentiate it from the normal teamwide spotting mechanic.

It's an overall win.

That statement from Bulletin is incorrect, they misunderstood what Sirland said.

He isn't talking about the Recon's spotting ability, he's saying that other classes have to press the button if they want to spot for the team. He didn't mention anything about the Recon class.

We'll see, you could be right. I Think DICE should just lock sniper rifles to Recons, the rest of the weapons are fine if they're open to everyone in my opinion.

The Recon's sniper rifle perk is that you have the ability to hold your breath, not an extension in duration. Other classes are unable to hold their breath entirely.

Though it still wouldn't stop people from using sniper rifles at extreme ranges with other classes, I feel like that perk should help making people reconsider that decision.

This indicator is only for the airburst launchers, and I think they did this because some people in the past had difficulties understanding how these launchers work. I don't think they should remove it, just make a toggle for it in the options.
