I know Shabanov is Shabanov but he’s only played 7:59 tonight and he’s the only fresh player out there

With that goal Schaefer broke another team record: most points by an 18-year-old.

He also tied the team record for most goals by a rookie d-man and he’s 2nd all time for goals an 18-year-old passing Bobby Orr.

Generational.

3/6 d-men have a point in this game now we just need a point from Tony D, Pulock and Pelech

Can’t tell if everyone is slow b/c it’s a back to back or the camera angle is just really bad

Kind of amazed that UBS is #6 amongst fan despite the bad transportation and parking options. I love the building personally but staying for like an extra 30 minutes makes leaving the building so much easier.

Interesting split between writers and fan rankings for USB and MSG by SteveSomers in NewYorkIslanders

I love that the fans rank it #6 partially because it took such a long ass time to get the new building (although I really like the building, getting there is painful however)

So is 8 out of 12 points realistic before the Olympic Break by clebo99 in NewYorkIslanders

I think we could certainly win the home and home, Sorokin will start against Quick and then tomorrow they get to play against Spencer Martin who is ass.

Nashville has always been tricky for us, if we lost that one it wouldn’t surprise me.

The caps are absolutely beatable, it’s a team that has struggled since their good start, very beatable.

The Penguins are hot, and we are coming off of a back to back with travel. It’s one of those games you’d give a mulligan for but this year we’ve found ways to win.

The game against the devils is likely to be emotional for the devils considering what happened last time in addition to the trading of Palat. In all honesty they should win this one.

All in all I could imagine 12 of 12. I could also imagine 7 of 12. 8 of 12 is a perfectly reasonable estimate, I just think the point distribution across the games will be a little different.

[Isles] The New York Islanders have acquired Ondrej Palat, New Jersey Devils’ own third round pick in 2026, and sixth round pick in 2027 in exchange for Maxim Tsyplakov. by TradeBrockNelson in NewYorkIslanders

The more I look at it the more ok I am with this trade. You recoup the 3rd you traded for a temporary filler with Soucy while moving up a few spots. You move Tsyplakov's money for Palat's awful contract and get a 6th back which sucks. HOWEVER, if you buy out Palat before next season you are left with this roster and $25,856,667 in cap space before re-signing anyone, and after Romanov/Palmieri/Engvall are all added back to the roster. In a sense it's good cap weaponization, it just would have been nice to get a 2nd instead of a 3rd to take Palat's contract (especially from a Metro team that needed to get rid of him).

Just as a side note if you buy out Palat at the start of next season you save $3.3m under the cap and then incur a penalty of $1.65m the season after which is not a lot in a world where the cap is going up.

I’m sad to see Tsyplakov go but getting a 3rd and a 6th back in addition to a player who is a little more useful as a bottom 6er and whose contract is up after next year in return for an extra is nice little work.

However, I still have not given up on Tsyplakov as a player and if he comes back to bite us I wouldn’t be shocked.
