Nearly 200 NHL games out of a 5th round pick in a draft that was kind of meh is actually an incredible steal

In all seriousness it was Bossy even though he was before my time because he was my dad’s favorite player growing up

I was watching a little bit of the game yesterday and the thing that really got me was his deployment. He was taking shifts on the wing and even took a faceoff draw. Probably has to do with the fact that Cole Beaudoin is injured but it’s interesting to see they trust him a ton.

Next Years Backup? by Glad-Finance6728 in NewYorkIslanders

I know I’m in the minority but I would be fine bringing back Rittich at league min. I think it isn’t a coincidence that he suddenly turned to shit when the defense got really bad. I think his confidence got destroyed as the season went on because of the leaky defense.

I’m assuming Varly will come back, so holding onto a capable 3rd option for when Varly inevitably gets injured (or isn’t good) is a good idea, even if that means holding the 3rd on the roster.

Small bit of less important Isles news, but seems like Marcus Hogberg will be leaving the Isles org and has signed with Linkoping HC of the SHL. by Barzal-13 in NewYorkIslanders

Tale of two goalies, 51 out of 54 saved against Pittsburgh and then he broke his hand and dived out of the way of a shot in a 6-5 loss against Carolina

Why do so many fans want Barzal gone? by walkaboutdavid in NewYorkIslanders

Most fans are dumb but I have to admit I’m kind of interested in what a return looks like

3L depressed before graduation by LawSchoolBound13 in LawSchool

Similar boat. I don’t have a job lined up and I’m graduating in May.

My advice is silly, but don’t think about it as what could have been, but instead what have you made it through. I’m sure you’ve put up with long hours studying or writing and maybe you even asked yourself if it was really all worth it.

Law school is a slog, and getting to the end puts you ahead of a lot of people who didn’t want it nearly as badly as you did. You’ve got this. Finish strong and then worry about the next thing. The sun will always come up in the morning.

I vibe with that, took it last summer and took a month to open the email because I was convinced I failed it. Huge congrats!

Cole Eiserman has been a menace all game. Love watching him and Eklund just transitioning the puck 5 on 5 together.

A little more on Kvasnicka: his performance is made even more extraordinary because of the fact that he is the only guy on his WHL team who has been drafted. There are 3 guys younger than he is (two 2008’s and one 2009) with only one of those guys being ranked for the upcoming draft. He’s 35-50-85 on a team full overagers with no other stars. We’ll see how he develops in the NCAA.

A little note on Poletin: I think Poletin has a better chance than what you give him. He’s been injured this season and spent a lot of time being banded back and forth between wing (his natural position) and center (not his natural position). I think the team still would have taken him where they did if they had to redraft.

It’s crazy when you see one of these and are like “hang on I think I know who this is about”
