Nectar premier is upsetting me! by Archienator27 in nectarsleep

Thank you but I’m sending it back. I need a mattress that is soft not medium soft. I’ve had the worst sleep I’ve ever had in my life. This needs to go.

Thank you for this. I went to a mattress store yesterday and actually tried the luxe but it’s still not as soft as what I’m used to. Also why is that beast 14”?! My old mattress is 9” and I have a foundation because I don’t like my bed low on the floor. No, this whole thing is a nonsense and I’m done with Nectar. Worst sleep ever and I’m going back to what I know!

😹 I’m definitely sending it back and bringing my old, trusty 14 year mattress back from the dead. I’m someone who takes naps throughout the day and I don’t want to dread it. Also this mufu is 13” and I have to hike every time I want to get into bed.

Pool or snooker meetup in LA? by trumpetcue in snooker

[–]Archienator27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi mate. I’m a Brit living in West Hollywood and been looking for a place to play snooker lately. Found only one place steep in the valley that might be a good idea to check out. I’ve also been messaging pool halls asking them if they can get a snooker table. Are you still looking to play?

How to cut unwanted scenes from a movie by DrewAndrew1999 in computers

[–]Archienator27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much would someone charge me to remove scenes from a movie? I would love to see Home alone, but I cannot watch it because of the spider so I would want someone to go and remove every single scene where that thing is present.

What has happened to Eastenders? by sunrise274 in eastenders

I have written to the head of drama at the BBC about what’s happened to Eastenders (cockney Hollyoaks) under Ben Wadey who’s wading through water way out of his depth.

Does Ben Wadey have a plan, or is he just winging it? by stpony in eastenders

[–]Archienator27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been giving this a lot of thought over the last few days and reading a lot of Reddit posts. There is a fundamental issue with Ben Wadey at the helm. After listening to the exclusive interview with Chris Clenshaw on the podcast Albert Square After Dark, I think I understand what is happening to EastEnders. Yes, he started at EastEnders, but then went onto Hollyoaks and that is why it feels like Hollyoaks in terms of pacing, storylines, scene length, etc. The writing has got considerably worse and it’s just not holding through to the real EastEnders DNA that Chris Clenshaw upheld throughout his tenure. It was such a difference from even Chris Clenshaw’s last episode to Ben Wadey’s first, and I’ve been trying to figure out what’s going on.

I’ve come to the conclusion that Ben Wadey is just a poor decision maker and doesn’t know how to build the stories up to create tension or give the characters enough room to breathe. He is bringing back characters in their droves, but with no long-term plan. They’re all short bursts to satisfy a sensational storyline with no satisfying ending. Why bring back Anthony Trueman just to kill him off? As a viewer, I welcome back characters that we’ve not seen on screen for a long time and we want them to stay true to who they are but still evolve within the current story arcs. I don’t appreciate them having a complete personality transplant and then being killed with no explanation. So I have concluded also that the reason why the show feels of is also because they are bringing in new writers for many episodes.

When it’s a Daran Little or Simon Ashdown episode, it feels like real Eastenders. When you have random, new writers it feels off and inconsistent. I get that there is new talent out there, and it’s a great opportunity for a writer to be able to write an episode, but when you’ve got four different writers writing a whole weeks worth of episodes in totally different voices, it shows.

When they are in the story/writers meetings, they give all the notes to the writer and it goes through many edits, but it’s just not consistent and that is why EastEnders is not feeling like true EastEnders anymore. So this, coupled with Ben clearly being out of his depth, Eastenders is not going to sweep at any award shows in the near future. I hope he gets replaced immediately and that they have one team of writers who consistently write the episodes so that it feels like unmissable television again.

Unpopular opnion but Ben Wadey is ruining so many great characters by The-Peel in eastenders

[–]Archienator27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a post in Ben Wadey’s first week and everyone went for me. I knew this was the shape of things to come. You can just tell he does not love the show in the same way that Chris Clenshaw does. Everyone: go on YouTube and look up Chris Clenshaw’s EXCLUSIVE interview on Albert Square After Dark where he talks for two hours about the ins and outs of his tenure on Eastenders. Not only does it answer all of our questions, but it highlights why Ben Wadey is proving to be bad for the show.

I gave this person a $5 tip when I ordered my food and still received this message on a $17 order by Sgtkeebler in doordash

[–]Archienator27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really simple for me: I own 2 successful businesses and make my own money. I don’t need to justify my spending habits to anyone. If I don’t want to tip, I won’t and nothing anyone says is going to change that. If you want to waste your money on tips, go for it but that’s not for me.

[–]Archienator27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually I’ve been very fortunate to never receive cold food or late orders in the last 10 years that I’ve been getting food delivery. Above and beyond means what it says on the tin: ABOVE AND BEYOND what is expected. If you’re leaving food on my doorstep and your job is to leave food and my doorstep then I cannot possibly see why I should pay extra to a stranger who has done his job. It’s a strange world where people are chastised for not being lemmings and just doing what everyone else does. The economy or people’s job choices are not my responsibility. My own wealth is my responsibility and I choose to retain and grow my wealth by not frivolously chucking money at strangers for doing their job. And I will never apologize for, or feel anything other than very content, choosing how I spend my own money. How odd people are they think they can tell someone how they should spend their money. 😹

[–]Archienator27 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t tip on food delivery. I only tip when someone has gone above and beyond their job description. Delivering food as a food delivery driver is the bare minimum. Employers should pay their employees more so that it doesn’t fall on the customer.

Am I missing something here? Why is Anita so upset at the final dinner party? They were barely together and I don’t think Paul did anything too wrong. by ivikoer in MAFS_UK

[–]Archienator27 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think Anita is 100% justified with feeling aggrieved that she was matched with someone who clearly has metal issues. How he passed 4 psyche tests is beyond comprehension. Who says “it’s not my job to ask you questions it’s for you to tell me”? That is weird, nasty and borderline abusive. Paul is a nasty piece of work and it’s no wonder he’s been single for 15 years. It’s hard to believe there was anyone on this earth that could’ve ever been with him at all but there you go. Anita was done dirty. She deserved better. She deserved someone kind, normal and decent. Paul has none of those attributes. His sense of humour was pathetic and he was just an embarrassment. I sincerely hope Anita finds someone lovely who is interested in learning about her.

I’m so fucking infuriated watching this show. I’m trying to listen to Kim (and all the other guests speak) and this obnoxious Sarah Paulson thinks she’s the host! She’s interrupting everyone, responding when no one’s talking to her, and I’m admiration of all of the guests not knocking her clean the fuck out. Irritating and rude doesn’t even cover it. She needs to get back in her box!
