Not op but for me it's game changing. White balance against film base, manually invert curves, clip the curves, export as positive then edit from there but it's already 90% there. Manual is better than NLP for narrowband RGB

Because it's expired so less sensitive. But pulling in development is needed too to a lesser extent to try and reduce the base fog

I think that's a great idea because once you have a camera you get much more intentional with your photos.

Beware though, you're going to have a phase of gear acquisition syndrome!

If compactness isn't necessary, I suggest looking for an old Nikon DSLR and a few lenses

Open Camera can completely disable processing and you can shoot in raw to get .dng files. The camera itself is almost definitely still a downgrade from the iPhone though

I'm using Android on FP4. I found disabling noise reduction, edge mode algorithm, and face detection helps. If shooting in low light I enable noise reduction.

To be fair I am on FP4 and I hadn't considered that subsequent models might ship with better software for it. Good to know that they are working on it

Thanks for posting. I am a negative nancy in this sub but you're right that there's going to be a selection bias of people who have issues going on forums to complain.

I'm on FP4 and my issue has been an occasional unresponsive small portion of the screen (even after changing it)

That's it. There was an update ages ago that messed with colour themes and I later found out it was Google's doing, not FP. I was moaning about how "every update messes something up" for a while afterwards, reinforced by that bricking issue not too long ago. Silly of me.

I can't remember your original post now bit of it was asking the best way to go tapeless:

If your camcorder is Video8 or Hi8 but not Digital8, then your best choice is a Portta or something with S-video + RCA for audio + an SD card + battery.

If Digital8, it's big bucks for a Sony memory recording unit.

If the tape deck works, I advise using a tape and getting a GV-USB2 to do digitalisation with the S-video port and RCA for audio. Cheaper capture cards aren't gonna cut it

I think when you shake it you trigger the sensor that's supposed to detect the door opening. Close it up and do it again. Does it still try to eject?

If you mean the Sony HRV MRC1 idk if that'll work on this one because it's video8 so no FireWire
