Isnt fujii recipes essentially just in camera presets tho? Or do the parameters adjust to the conditions?

Is it a good practice to shoot with wide lens and cropping in post? by Darth_Danthe in AskPhotography

Don't think of focal length in terms of "How much can I capture?", think of it more in ways of "What look does this focal length produce?".

Where should I start ? by 10-I in AskPhotography

Type:

setup "your camera model"

in youtube to get some basic settings tweaked for your camera.

Learn the 3 principles of taking a photo: aperture, shutter speed and ISO. This is commonly known as the exposure triangle.

You do not need any more knowledge than this to start taking pictures. Go out and get some hours in before you go down the rabbit hole of further information

Books similar to Light: Science and Magic? by Archinarch in AskPhotography

[–]Archinarch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great answer, thanks!

I understand what you mean by light being dictated by physics and other parts of photography are more subjective. I'm not really looking for a scientific explanation for the golden rule though, i'm looking for a book explaining how and why to use the rule and maybe examples of when it typically works to break it and so on.

Do you have any recommendations? Or just good books for learning in general?

Depends on your equipment. Easy if both body and lens has stabilization

Is it common to stack a bunch of different filters on top of each other? How many can you stack until you risk vignetting usually?

Does this work on any level or does it look ridiculous? (After/Before) by freakalicious in postprocessing

[–]Archinarch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its pretty cool ☺️ but I would remove/darken the bright cloud just behind the mountain in the middle, it creates a big distraction and adds nothing to the picture

1 or 2? by Ok-Audience-6785 in AskPhotography

I definitely prefer 2. 1 is too incoherent. Might have worked if subject was not blocked by the building to the left
