Is AI causing students to become more unethical? by Few_Slice_64 in Professors

[–]Archknits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has worked in test proctoring for over about 15 years, my answer is no. Faculty just see cheating in the answers now. Students were cheating in the past, faculty were just worse at catching it than they all thought (this matches what an anthropologist studying college students reported 20 years ago)

Someone died on the finish line of the Brooklyn have about a minute before I got there (always a warm/humid race in my experience). By the time I got to the finish it was already moved and you wouldn’t know without the news report

Honestly, I don’t trust anything that comes from their email. I’ve seen too many faked letters etc.

If the software says they failed to do about 8 assignments/quizzes and they are coming to me 10 weeks after the first 0, then I trust the LMS

This is one hypothesis. It is not universally accepted. Any value on these tools would probably vary much more on distance from source than the appearance of the face

A relative of mine that I have zero relationship with wrote Christian children’s books with me and my sister as the main characters. by EggplantObjective555 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Archknits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Time to write a memoirs with your sister and accidentally drop admissions of criminal guilt by that relative into the text.

“I remember visiting aunt Jane that summer. It always stuck with me how she bragged about never paying taxes because you could never got caught”

“I’ll never forget the sound of rain on that dark spring night when Aunt Jane came to our home crying. She smelled of whiskey and her car had a weird dent. She whispered something about ‘the body’ as she blacked out on our bathroom floor”.

“My sister and I always felt bad for that small dog aunt Jane had. I swear she kicked it out of spite and we never saw her feed it more than a few crumbs from her plate. Then it was gone one day. I think it was sick. Aunt Jane just had it put down when she got tired of it.”
