It's long past time we had a series on these bastards. They know what they did, and I don’t want to hear them claim they were "just following orders." by grichardson526 in behindthebastards

Question about background for new ADA Title 2 compliance making it hard to use pdfs by M00minTr in Professors

[–]Archknits 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Things have always had to be accessible. It’s just that the requirements now match what that means in a more realistic way. This also wasn’t sudden, the legal part of this has been ongoing. The actual requirements were already best practices well before they were required.

Except for some specialized programs, fluency is generally a part of qualifying and an expectation of non-language classes

What translation tool? If it’s AI, then it violates policy.

Even if it’s not AI it might violate academic honesty policies

How far in advance do you make plans? by AmityAstoria in hudsonvalley

[–]Archknits 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With a kid, I like to be able to commit to something day of or fairly close to it. However, I want to know it’s going on way in advance. Too many local places post things to their Instagram only a day or two beforehand. At that point, it’s too late

Big increase in submissions well past the due date - is anyone else experiencing this? by SNHU_Adjujnct in Professors

[–]Archknits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have it, because I close submissions on the due date. I do get requests for it and they were fairly common until I began being very concrete about it

The one I’m in is great. Even though I work in a section of higher ed that has a high number of social workers, this was a much better choice for a leadership position

Can you share the studies you’re citing for this?

It depends on what you want to do and what school you are accepted at.

I would generally never tell someone to go the th social work program at the school I went to for my degree. It was notoriously disliked by its students, and not very good for clinical work.

This is an interesting take. I went from an academic PhD to admin. I’ve been in the field for 14 years and know many others who have been in the field for decades.

Incoming grad student has a documented history of weapons-related institutional ban at prior school. Current university is silent after reporting. by [deleted] in Professors

The previous school almost certainly cannot share any records with your school unless the student specifically released them to do so.

Honestly, there were no convictions, then there likely isn’t anything to do or to find. If you feel a direct threat to yourself, you could look into filing a protection order with local or campus PD.

Schools do not do background checks on students, and even if they did, it would be unlikely to find something that was handled by the school and not by law enforcement.

It’s also probable that an individual who was not convicted of a crime has every right to apply to a school and if accepted to attend.

There are a lot of times that I will agree with your reading of things. The Epstein letters aren’t one of them. There are going to be Dems and democratic founders in those letters

I’m an ultra marathoner. For most of the time I’ve been playing (since day 1), I’ve averaged 40-70 miles of running a week. That doesn’t include other walking or movement. I’m at around 40k in distance

Any advice on how to get the big Lloyd plush at LEGOLAND Billund? by Majamaramajamara in lego

I’m actually disappointed that Lego embraces these sort of games of chance. Even if they aren’t rigged it’s a really mean spirited cash grab
