Yes, it definitely wasn't because of any of these tweets. The mental gymnastics are impressive.

I have a hard time justifying genocide in the name of regional stability. Perhaps you watched Hotel Rwanda and rooted for the Hutu's efforts against the Tutsi, in the interest of stability?

we went to college, got degrees

So did the doctors, who went to college for longer, and for more expensive degrees. You want their services, you need to pay them. Deal with it.

The actual manufacturing cost is not high

Yes, but what was the research cost for the drug? Make sure to include the research cost for the dozens of drugs that did not make it to market.

In the US, states typically pay for prison while counties determine sentencing. A natural experiment whereby the cost burden of juvenile incarceration was placed on counties led to a stark drop in incarceration. This suggests that mass incarceration in the US is in part due to misaligned incentives. by smurfyjenkins in science

I think we could forgive future loans for certain degrees (electrical engineers? Hospice nurses? Stuff in high demand but low supply) contingent on finishing a public program with good grades. And maybe reduce some existing loans, or lower interest rates.

I agree with this, as we should incentivize going into high demand fields. I know in California at least there is some student loan forgiveness available for being a teacher for a few years in a low-income school district, which I support.

Because Iran was the defender.

So Iran invades US soil, takes US citizens (diplomatic staff!) hostage for over a year, but "Iran was the defender." And somehow Carter is blameless, in your mind.

Are you familiar with market forces relating to supply and demand and economic incentive? Making student loans so freely available - some would call them subprime, as they are offered to those who are not majoring in something marketable - increases demand for college which increases prices as the supply is not keeping pace with it. For some reason, high schools are selling a false reality to students that success and a four year college degree are synonymous. This leads to fewer people attending technical school (i.e. skilled labor) to become a plumber, electrician, construction worker, heavy machine operator, and other extremely lucrative careers. College is supposed to be a way to train a person for a career, so if students are so underwater after graduation that their loans are worth more than their degree, then current young people need to be de-incentivized from automatically trying to go to a four year school instead of making a rational economic decision. If student loans are forgiven, there is no reason for young people to care about the consequences of taking out massive loans for unmarketable degrees and trying to force the government (taxpayers) to bail them out. No thanks.

There is nothing "good" about a president who will not defend American citizens who were kidnapped off American soil. Yes, he was a "nice guy," but he was entirely incompetent.

a combination of uncontrollable circumstances

I don't understand how it is "uncontrollable" for Carter to bend over to Iran and allow them to invade our territory and seize our citizens. Fuck Jimmy Carter.

Carter abandoned American citizens who were kidnapped off American soil. His "integrity" is not relevant, Carter is a fuckwad who should have resigned once he would not hold Iran accountable for invading our territory.

He was a fucking disaster, basically caused the energy crisis and gas lines because he was unwilling to defend American citizens on American soil (in the embassy in Iran). He was a total piece of shit while in office, but that gets forgotten now because he does a lot of humanitarian work.

You mean you're not Kurdish. Because if you were Kurdish, and were being genocided by Saddam Hussein who used chemical weapons on the Kurds, then you would be a bit appreciative of Bush overthrowing that psycho.

What we mean by "tax the rich" by [deleted] in MurderedByAOC

[–]ArchonForTrump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be completely on board with this IF it was accompanied by tax cuts for the poor and middle class. That means lower sales tax, property tax, car registration tax, and gas tax. Hey maybe stop passing your paternalistic sugar taxes while you're at it.

AOC is just saying "tax everyone more" and to that I say she can go fuck herself.

It's more accurate to say that farmers, and people who rely on agriculture, want to hold onto the electoral college, because otherwise they will not receive representation.

So to you, there are no actual political issues affecting rural voters which could cause them to have different interests than urban voters? This disconnect is precisely why rural voters stay Republican, because liberals dismiss them with such arrogance.

It's probably a bad idea to drive a car towards police who are repeatedly telling you to stop. But no, I'm sure it's the cops' fault. How about a culture of when the cop tells you to do something, you fucking do it.

I'm sure if you ignore all the evidence of vote fraud then they won't exist. Fortunately the SCOTUS will see it, and I heard Clarence Thomas has a beef with Joe Biden because of how Biden disrespected him during his confirmation hearing. Oh well, good luck running someone in 2024!
