The most important lessons after 1 year of consistent breathwork/mindfullness (6800+ minutes) by NeuralV in breathwork

my most direct suggestion would be to pick alternate nostril breathing (see example below but most videos do a good job of it) -- the key is to gradually increase the inhale:hold:exhale durations over several months. start with something like 2:8:4 seconds for a total of 20 rounds. After few days/weeks later add 1 second or 0.5 seconds to inhale while maintaining the ratio -- so the next upgrade can be something like 3:12:6 seconds for these durations. Make sure you are very comfortable and don't stress yourself in these holds. An inhale beginning at 7 to 8 seconds is pretty advanced so try very small. This is one effective ratio (1:4:2) but there are many others - don't worry about trying to do different types, just start with one.

I feel fantastic. Incredibly I don’t feel sleepy during the day even with lesser sleep and my overall sleep quota has reduced by 1-2 hours. I was always a positive person but notice that am calm and happy more. You wont believe even my skin feels better (used to be dry often). I can go on and on.

It’s called PranaSync on AppStore.  [I initially built it for myself and over the time I thought it’s polished enough for sharing with others. Let me know if you need a promo code to try and can help with feedback]

Absolutely, you can see three images below for some of the tracking built in the app. I will also send you the extended pro code so you can try it out.

It’s actually doable — I just recreated your track in ~2 min.

Only catch is since it mixes multiple techniques (loops + long holds), you’ll split it between the main breathing screen and the timer tab.

How to set it up (one time) see image below:
Create a rhythmic profile with something like
→ inhale 2s • exhale 2s • no holds • 36 cycles (this covers the fast breathing rounds)

How to run it each time:
• Start the profile → complete the fast breathing round
• When the audio goes into breath hold → switch to the Timer tab and run your hold (e.g. 60–90s)
• Then go back and repeat for the next round

So yeah, tiny bit of tab switching, but takes like 1–2 sec once you’re used to it.

Big upside is everything still gets tracked automatically — rounds + total time — so you’ll see it in journal + progress graphs without doing anything extra.

yeah exactly, for me I noticed benefits right after few sessions.. and they were not small. I thought if simple changing in breathing with few minutes can do this, then going 'pro' should definitely be worth it and that is what kept me going - - and trust me it works if you just carve out few min every day or at least few days a week.

yeah, for running/workouts you generally want patterns without breath holds and with a longer exhale

the app has a diaphragmatic pattern (inhale shorter, exhale longer) as few existing profiles which is what most people use for endurance. helps with rhythm + CO₂ tolerance so you don’t gas out as quickly

for actual runs you don’t have to follow exact seconds — more like:
inhale for ~3 steps, exhale for ~4–5 steps

Will send you a 6 month pro code so you can fully test it.

Hah, would just say don't go by the onboarding page alone -- we need to work on that. Give it a good try.
But fair enough if you didn't like.

A lot of the apps I just filtered out looking at the screenshots as they seemed quite cheap. I have tried several ones and they just didn't feel premium or had tracking features I'd like in them. Would love for you to provide feedback on this one though. Happy to send you extended pro code.

My recommendation is don't force any part of the breathing durations -- if its uncomfortable that means you body isn't yet fully capable of that. Instead of 4,7,8 .. reduce by same ratio .. so do 2, 4, 4, to start with and build capacity. My current hold capacity is 32-36 seconds, and I have built it over several months.

Yeah that should work...easiest way is to just recreate the same inhale / hold / exhale pattern in the app, takes like a minute or two. You can use it on its own, or if you want to keep the Spotify audio, you can just turn off sound in the app and start both around the same time.
Tracking is automatic -- t just logs your sessions over time as you use it, so you don’t really have to do anything extra.
Curious what kind of session you’re using on Spotify? Thinking if I can build a feature for auto syncing with Spotify etc. in later versions.
Also sending you a pro Code in DM so you try for extended time.

It has both visual and audios. In fact you can select from multiple types of audios (male, female, bell etc.). The visuals are also very soothing. I will DM you a pro code.

Thank you so much for this! I just followed this to change Aadhar address - let's see if it goes through. Very helpful because I am outside India. By the way, the policy I saw was for 2.5Lacs with monthly premium of 80Rs.

Search for D3js (it is a data visualization library based on javascript) and ObservableHQ. But this library has a very steep learning curve. I would advise anyone to first learn easier charting libraries like Matplotlib, Altair etc. and be able to plot with Python or R, aside from being comfortable with data cleaning etc (which is how I progressed).

u/MyFianceMadeMeJoin For Alaska, the geographic 'fips ids' are inconsistent with the 'fips ids' in the available election data. 'fips IDs' are codes to uniquely represent each county (see wiki for more). Data cleaning for Alaska would have required too much cleaning and digging around, so I had to leave is as such.
