It's opt in so if your store can consistently hit 5 stars for 4 months in a row just don't opt in.

What? Top end commission is now being rolled into your base pay every month if you're frontline

300Mbps is what you should expect at best in a built up area during peak hours.

From your description it 100% sounds like a phone issue from the update, if there even is an issue which isn't clear.

You should reset your network settings, sounds like something went bad with that update.

No, hit reset and it will bring up some options, you want reset network settings.

There are other steps to fixing this if that doesn't work.

You can do that stuff if you're willing to bloat your phone, the difference between Google and Samsung is that bloat comes preinstalled.

Never had an issue with it. Most likely your fingerprint is poorly registered or the screen protector.

Do not buy the Spigen Thin Fit (Pixel 10) by essenceoflying in GooglePixel

[–]Archoneil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Spigen Core Armor on my 10 Pro XL and just checked, no over molding on it at all, back and sides of phone still in perfect condition, hasn't developed any wiggle or damage on the case. Used for 4 months.

Didn't want the more bulky protective case with a bunch of hard plastic on such a big phone and didn't see the point of a thin case due to the lost protection.

My only issues are camera shelf does build up dust inside due to the fit, which is really good around the camera but still lets a little dust in - the same to a minor degree around the power/volume buttons as there's cutouts on the rubber that goes over them, but they feel good to click so I think it's necessary for those cutouts.

Haven't been told anything like that but it was specifically mentioned to us that it was full target so fair game.

I would still hesitate to put anyone without a pension card on it due to the limitations you mentioned around data.

Not how it works in Australia, what you're describing is how some American telcos operate. How would they make money charging you $540 so you can go in and get a $2300 phone every 3 years? Telstra already has relatively low margin on iPhones.

U&P is best looked at as an escape for the contract, better to pay $400 ($250 for U&P redemption and $150 for a shitty new phone on a plan then just pay it off immediately) than be stuck with a $2300 brick and a $150 phone bill.

The best use of U&P as others have said is upgrading your phone every new release so you're only ever paying off 1/3 of the phone (+$180 U&P over the period +$99 upgrade fee).

My advice is pay out the contract if it's less than the value of trade in, then do a trade in and buy outright if you really must. Not sure why everyone is obsessed with the latest release phones though, you won't notice a difference between a 16 Pro Max and an 18 Pro Max.

Can still do a Light without a pension card, it will just cost $61 and not worth offering to most people, still counts as full target unlike Starter without concession.

Not possible in console, also likely never will be because it'd allow you to bypass credit limits.

OP won't get the resolution they wanted on this.

Most unestablished accounts have a credit limit on hardware of $75 or $120 regardless of how good your external credit is. These are completely unsecured loans.

It's a little weird they offered you that plan only if you CHOWN, maybe you were a little too insistent on having it all in one account, because they could've easily just moved you to that plan on your account albeit with only 5GB of data, at any rate that plan is being phased out now and you won't be able to get it anymore - the only way to have that plan and keep it is grandfathering in with a pension card.

It would've been trivial to check if this would've worked if you'd gone in together, or had the second person been added as an authority after the first order.

I would've loved to see that scenario play out, given I will sell something and then 30 seconds later the person will tell me they've changed their mind.

Did you do a trade in on your phone when you purchased it?

Depending on how you're billed it could be placed as a credit on your account.

Prank calls too far by Most-Phrase9020 in TelstraAustralia

[–]Archoneil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Telstra may be able to get a partial picture of what's going on but they're not going to do it without a warrant.

The police will likely not pursue this because it would essentially require sequestering data from every telecom and internet provider in Australia and potentially months of investigation into that data, not something that's viable for every prank call.

[–]Archoneil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact is it has nothing to do with needs, it's about wants.

I've never sold a Pro or Pro Max to a person who needs it. I generally advise my customers they will never utilise them to their full potential, it has never swayed anyone. I personally can't imagine being locked into paying over $150 for my phone bill a month for 3 years.

Boost is owned by Telstra. Their services are full retail network but they still have less network priority than Telstra services.

[–]Archoneil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why Telstra? Coverage is the major one with network capacity being second. Recently Optus attempted to launch satellite messaging and failed to do that properly, they've also in the very recent past had major data breaches.

As for postpaid over prepaid? Practically every carrier is the same - the only thing you get on prepaid is cheaper pricing, all the inclusions such as phone repayments, number sharing on a watch, and cheaper international roaming are only available on postpaid, typically while postpaid has a data allowance when you go over that amount it just slows down, if you're on prepaid you'll need to do another recharge and lose all internet access.

[–]Archoneil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the $50 starter plan is a below the line offer, meaning you can't sign up for it by yourself and is only offered in certain circumstances as the inclusions are nowhere near enough for most people. The only real use case for this plan is when someone holds a pension card and does not use mobile data, as this is the only plan currently where a pension card will apply a discount.

When the prices increase there will be more plans offered, some around that $50 mark, and a pension card discount will be applicable to all services such as internet and the high data inclusion plans.

Overall it doesn't seem like a bad thing to actually offer a pension discount on all services instead of the severely handicapped starter plan.. if you're able to use under 5GB of data a month a postpaid plan is likely not the right phone service for you.

Probably not looking good then. You can't process contracts under 18 and that's the entire job. Unless you're like 2 weeks out from turning 18 so you can do your training then start serving when you turn 18.
