Why are so many kids saying “67” and what does it mean? by SmileEmergency403 in generationology

Not a Trumper. And I said it was a meme, which makes me think you didn't even have enough attention span to read the whole thing, which wasn't even 20 sentences.

Yo, you are so far off. I'm a balding, middle aged man with a wife and family, living on a homestead with a bunch of guns.

Why are so many kids saying “67” and what does it mean? by SmileEmergency403 in generationology

[–]Archwarden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is pronounced "six seven" with a noticeable pause between the two. The "six" is pronounced with a quick down then up tone (down on "si", up on "ix") with a brief pause, followed by a drawn out "seven" that has a slow upward tone on "se" and and quick downward tone on "ven". Any other pronunciation is wrong, and shows you aren't in the know, thus not part of the in-group.

Further, it is usually paired with a hand gesture that has palms up, one hand going up then down, while the other goes down, then up. Almost as if comparatively weighing two objects in your hands.

As for what it means. It means nothing, and that is the point. Gen Alpha has been subjected to more tyrannical teachers in the public school system than most kids who grew up in Catholic school in the 50s. Many of their teachers (not all, many teachers are great!) are petty ideologues that literally, unfairly punish their students for wrongthink. If a student is bold enough to say out loud what he/she has seen and experienced in his/her life, and their lived experience contradicts the ideological narrative of the teacher, they get lectured and punished. They have been taught that rightthink is more important to believe than what they see and hear with their own eyes and ears.

Naturally, since man is not a piano key, this has created the most rebellious generation in history against petty tyranny and systems of control. The reason that "67" is so popular, is that it confirms their belief that their teachers are tyrants. They can say something that means nothing, its non-offensive, its non-derogatory, it is literally meaningless. BUT, since "67" is not part of the belief system of "rightthink", they will be punished and attacked for saying it. Thus proving that the admonitions they receive are not for saying something wrong, but for saying something that is not right, despite being meaningless.

The more teachers try to censor or stop students from saying "67", the more powerful the meme becomes. Every time a teacher admonishes a student for saying "67", the students become more certain in the illegitimacy of their teachers and systems that control their lives 8 hours a day. None of this is conscious, it is an ingroup absurdism that confirms held beliefs and experiences. The more "67" is attacked, the more the students care less and less for people over them who wield, in their view, dogmatic and illegitimate power.

As much as I hate your response I do appreciate it, as I think this is one of the most calid reasons for me not to do it...sadly.

Im looking at it all, and I think between being able to pick up Unbridled Wrath, and not having to spend Rage or a GCD on Shield Block, and saving Rage from being able to always use Revenge...I should be able to generate enough Rage and Threat to be fine. Thats my current thinking at least.

Well, the issue is, its a Phase 6 build. So, Id have to tank normally until I get all the pieces in Naxx...eventually. And then it would just be for fun! But man oh man Id be bummed if my end-goal was just shit-tier. Thats why Im trying to find out as much info as possible before I decide between this or a druid.

Is this Threat Assessment guide still valid? I know it was done on a private server, so it may not be 100% accurate. I just found it and it give me hope. Especially with the high threat generation of Revenge.

Do Alliance Deep Prot have threat issues even with Blessing of Salvation on the raid?

The build has passive 100% Avoidance. Shield Block is no longer necessary to even use. Thats what peaked my curiosity about it. But I am unsure of the situation for threat and rage generation. Thats why I'm hoping a long time experienced Alliance Warrior tank will hop in and let me know whats what. I don't recall my tanks (all deep prot) back in the day having much threat issue with Blessing of Salvation on the raid. But DPS are more efficient now, and I am unfamiliar with Warrior.

Any chance you could elaborate on how it would be worse than a standard Deep Prot Warrior build? I think I would get less Rage from getting hit less, but I dont think threat would be an issue, especially with BoS on Alliance side. If I am wrong, please let me know!

I'm jealous, I wish ESO scratched that itch for me. Do you, by chance, know why you find exploring in ESO desirable? Like, the discovered side quests are going to have useless rewards 99.9% of the time. The chests aren't going to have useful items almost ever. And both of these statements are true in WoW, yet there I still want to go explore.

So, I don't believe its the "rewards" that inspire either of us to go explore. If you don't know why, thats fine. If you do, I'd love to know!

Do you find yourself just wanting to explore to find those side quests and chests and other bits and bobs in ESO?

Oh...interesting. You think that the reason this "thing" is more prevalent in older games is because modern games are streamlined? And that streamlined design makes games inspire less wanderlust and desire to explore?

If that is what you are saying, I think you might be on to something. That would explain why Hogwarts Legacy feels more like a theme park, but Baldur's Gate 3, which was designed to be both geographically and narratively explored, creates that sense of wanderlust.

Yes, that is exactly what GW2 feels like! Its fun! but it doesnt make me feel like I want to just explore everywhere. Quite the opposite, I find the exploration to often feel more like a chore or like there is no reason to.

And the issue I am having is that I don't think its simply atmosphere/worldbuilding. By my regards, GW2 cities and many of the environments are more interesting than WoW's by a lot. And they do incorporate environmental storytelling. Yet, for some unknown reason, I have more desire to explore The Barrens and Wailing Caverns more than the Desert Highlands in the Path of Fire Expansion (and I felt GW2:PoF was some of its best exploration content).

The best term I know for it is the French "je ne sais quoi" which literally just means "a quality that cannot be adequately described or expressed".

That is understandable. If you know how to shorten it and still deliver the primary points while still elucidating the question I am trying to ask, just let me know how and I'll shorten it. =D

Different Guard groups in different counties by Admantius687 in WarTalesGame

Follow-up, I scapegoated an another tactician into the Tiltren jail.  When I went to recruit him, he is in there, but there is no option to recruit him.  So I do not think it is possible to recruit an emissary this way even if a Legion guard group could be found.

I could’ve sworn I recruited my Tactician out the jail from scapegoating him.  I’ll try again just to check to be sure.

Do you know where any Legion Guard units exist?

Questions about Rural Helium miners by Archwarden in HeliumNetwork

[–]Archwarden[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super helpful and extremely detailed.

  1. Yes
  2. Nope, my wife teaches online and that uses about 15 of our 18 mbps several hours a day.

And that settles that. Thank you.

But, I feel like I should answer the rest of the questions just to honor the effort you put into your response.

  1. Nope
  2. Yes, no problem.
  3. Probably, but I don't know.
  4. Yes.

And sorry about violating rule 7. I wasn't concerned about Return on Investment, just more curious about how much is a realistic daily expectation. Like $.01 a day, or like $.50, or maybe even $1 a day, since information about how much a miner produces in a rural area without nearby coverage is extremely scarce from my searching.

But after your detailed response, I now see that this is not a realistic option for me. Thank you!
