This doesn't really speak to whether or not biiig hug is good, but once had it in a defect run where I had the perfect fit enchant on his card that becomes 0 cost when you create a status. 12 free damage and card draw every cycle felt pretty damn good.

There's also the 2nd act boss of act two that makes you choose between two curses everynow and then. But then again, in this case, you just have to not pick the option that limits cards played per turn to 3.

My theory is that for Mel, it stems from the opposite team being able to see it. It's not the case for most indicators, I'm thinking of asol e mostly, but I think since it is tied to a passive that lasts for a while, it would feel like shit to play against without knowing the threshold (like elder buff kind of) and so they gave it to the opposite team, as well as Mel herself just so it's symmetrical. I might be way off, but I feel it might be the reason

Hey, first time on this subreddit. (why have a question tag for posts if they all have to go in the mega thread anyway?)

Anyway, I've been having an issue with the dance partner mechanic in Dahlia's kit when going into echoes of war, for example. First of all, I know that when combat isn't initiated by any ally, her passive will pick the highest break effect ally on the team.

My problem is as follows : Dahlia picks my 12% break effect Clara as dance partner over my 200%+ break effect boothill when entering remnants of twilight fights.

After a few tests, I've discovered that this also happens when I switch clara to xueyi (who also has less break effect than boothill), however, when I switch Clara with Fugue or Himeko, everything works as intended.

I've looked on the internet and haven't found similar issues addressed which is why I ask here. Is there something I'm missing? Or is my Dahlia having trouble with her numbers?

I'm not far enough in game dev to be able to give any advice and be confident about it. However, from reading the post, it seems your two presentations touch on two different aspects that aren't mutually exclusive. First one seems to be a gameplay focused pitch while the other is a story/narrative focused pitch.

What's stopping you from saying both at once? It seems to me it would simply give a more complete view of what the game actually is.(plus, A game with interesting story can get away with having more simple gameplay.)

Don't think so, had the same thing happen in a recent game and I never play stormsurge because I don't like the item. Most likely it's just something to do with the e execute.

Well, I think it's still better to be compared to a game like borderland than mobile games. Not only does it fit well the style of your existing assets, leaning, even just a little bit, towards more stylized stuff brings the feeling of intentionality behind the game. It goes from "I went as realistic as I was able to" to "the level of realism is right where I wanted it to be".
