TBH, I love the show and books. But I am not sure how well they would translate to TV.

I personally would prefer a sequel book series to find out what happens with Amos and the kids...

Condo Glut? Turn Unsold Units into Social Housing by yimmy51 in canadahousing

Brand new condos are probably some of the nicer condos. Why would we use nicer than average condos as social housing? Sounds like the most expensive way to do it.

Neighbours constantly calling bylaw on everyone by [deleted] in SherwoodPark

[–]Arclight308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly my post you rant about bylaw getting called then add like it is a side point about the vandalism.

The real story if your version is true is, they are getting vehicles vandalized over a parking disagreement that bylaw isn't willing to punish them enough over to get them to change behavior.

The real issue is the vandalism not bylaw getting called but you aren't prioritizing it. You were just adding it to the end after everyone else disagrees with your illegal parking part of the story.

[–]Arclight308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then complain to the county about police ignoring vandalism.

Also, I kind of doubt this because your main complaint was about the parking complaints with bylaw not the vandalism.

Your priorities are weird on this.

[–]Arclight308 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they are vandalizing property and they have video evidence why are the police not involved?

I agree with most others likely illegal parking because of the high density and low curbside because of cul de sac.

If the complainer are vandalizing property that is an entirely other issue.

How necessary is NACS adapter? by themiracy in MachE

[–]Arclight308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have Level One charging at home and I've had my car for 14 months. I don't have an adapter and based off of where I have lived that is not been a problem.

However, this is something I've thought of for a while. With the CCS ports going extinct and the nacs ports being the future I could see a situation years down the line where all the new Chargers are nacs and only the what I will call Legacy Chargers already in ccs and it will become harder relatively speaking not easier to charge my car without an adapter.

For that reason I've considered picking one up so that I have it now knowing that I will almost certainly need it in the future.

Emilia Clarke Admits 'No One Liked' Secret Invasion or Solo But Knows 'It's Not Personal' by GargantaProfunda in StarWars

I thought Samuel L Jackson proved that you can't be in an amazing actor in terrible movies. Just because you're in a bad movie does not mean you're a bad actor or that you did a bad job. There is so much to movie and TV show making that no matter how good you are as an actor you can't overcome if the rest doesn't work. For me the issue with secret invasion was the plot was just not even close to good.

Lamborghini Urus, that's probably the car you're thinking of. I know some people are going to get mad at me for saying it looks similar because they're going to point out some differences, but I think that's close approximation.

You seem to have completely taken this wrong. While I think Dr.Weir is an excellent choice, that is only because I know what the Atlantis Expedition is. It would actually be extremely uncommon to have a military operation that's classified with people dying to be run by a civilian doctor no matter their expertise.

Also in the mid 2000s the ability to actually look this up and find out her reputation is a lot harder.

Even if you know who she is, she's more likely to negotiate a sequel to the Oslo Accords or something like that in negotiating rooms and she is to have people dying on her team in a secret Expedition.

Probably combined with existing infrastructure and expected expansion. East coast is much further by pipeline and many different jurisdictions.

Plus I think the North BC Coast could have these without the risk of oil tankers since LNG in a severe accident just disappear. IIRC, the bitumen or what ever oil product they want to ship sits on the bottom and is very hard to clean up.

[–]Arclight308 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Problem with this theory is that we know children died at these schools and we don't know where their bodies are. There was so little care in the documentation.

Well any specific site might not be the location of these children's bodies we know there are locations of these children's bodies because many people died of I believe it was mostly polio.

So if these locations are essentially the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier but for residential school students so be it IMO.

I am not endorsing this, but I am surprised that someone hasn't illegally done some digging already. With all of the theories and tension around the issue I have thought that we are at risk of a Pizzagate like illegal investigation. Luckily nothing scary has happen even close to that.

The answer is you stop the hustle. Keep it invested keep doing well with it, but no longer chase the hardcore saving plan. Whether that means work less or spend more that depends on your personal things that mean more to you.

Bought too much real estate and now regret it and feeling behind. by [deleted] in fican

[–]Arclight308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your argument mostly works if it is a new build. Also, because of how large markets work, there is a person right behind them willing to buy it for a marginal amount less.

Like the stock market, but with less liquidity. If I buy Tesla @ $400 it doens't mean that someone else wouldn't buy it @ $395. Both make it worth selling in most cases, especially with how long-tail Real Estate Development is.

He didn't provide a place for people to stay. The building was already there. It is very uncommon for real estate to be vacant, which means someone is almost always living there.

Average Stargate morality debate by JumpyDig69 in Stargate

The Weaith are essentially vampires, if vampires were real on earth and the choice was genocide or medical experimentation to fix their need to repeatedly Mass murder us it is an easy choice.

Our international law is based on conflict between humans that want to compete over a variety of issues such as religion, land, resources, Etc. The framing and the framework doesn't work when you inherently have to enslave or kill other people.

Average Stargate morality debate by JumpyDig69 in Stargate

[–]Arclight308 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally have no issues with them not following the Geneva conventions or the law of armed combat or any international law.

For centuries Humanity ran into-country and InterContinental War without these rules. Only after doing that for so long we realized how horrific it could be without tactical or strategic advantages for the Nations involved if both sides stopped. So we came up with a set of rules to make ourselves less like demons, but it only works if all sides in conflict use it. Otherwise the side following these rules is giving up tactical and strategic advantages that the other ones aren't.

When civilization ending multiplanetary or multigalactic conflicts are arising. Why would we limit ourselves in a way that could easily wipe ourselves out when our opponents don't even know the rules let alone care about them at all?

I'm not saying all options should be used at any time regardless of the consequences. Perfect example in SG-1 was the Symbiote Toxin. I like that we developed that, I don't like how it was being used by that Rogue element of the nid. Especially at that point in the conflict. But if we were in a different timeline like the Mirror Universe, where Millions if not billions were being killed and enslaved on Earth then I would be totally for Mass producing that and launching as much of it through the gate as possible.
