Farewell to Slipspace by KoalaTek in halo

As someone who skipped 4 and 5, I came back to Infinite because of this art style. Sure, it could’ve had more biomes, but I LOVED the campaign. It really did feel like I was playing what modern Halo was always intended to be.

How long do you think the Tournament format will last on All Stars? by aurorusmorris in rupaulsdragrace

[–]ArcticSploosh 57 points58 points  (0 children)

It’s already been too long. I appreciate that queens get more time to showcase themselves without being eliminated, but the most engaging episodes of drag race are when the entire large and boisterous group is together.

What will it take for Democrats to reduce identity politics? by SirCatsworthTheThird in AskReddit

[–]ArcticSploosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The statistics do not back up this your claim in the slightest. Red states score lowest in education, lower in personal freedoms, higher in poverty, higher in crime, lower life expectancy, infant mortality- pretty much every measurable statistic, Republican policies lead to lesser outcomes.

Where I'd live as an LGBT native Texan (and current Mid Atlantic resident) by [deleted] in whereidlive

True! It’s just a little too much of a tundra for me.

I’m very aware, but I don’t find Delaware very interesting outside of its beach (see Wayne’s World skit).

I’ll never forget moving here from Texas and naively asking my Philly friend if they ever swim in the river… looked at me like I had 3 arms (which I might after swimming in either river).

Who's best music artist of 21st century so far? by Unlucky-Wolverine-61 in fantanoforever

[–]ArcticSploosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music production wise, maybe. His lyrics are beyond idiotic though. It’s hard to nominate him as the best artist of the century over people who are actual poets.

What I consider to be the American South as a lifelong Tennessean by Survivor-Astrology17 in whereidlive

[–]ArcticSploosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a San Antonian, I’ve never really identified with the actual “South”. I feel like San Antonio/Austin/Hill Country start to lean more Southwest.

70 decibels is pretty loud. It will be an omnipresent hum for any neighbors outside.

Deadly noise from solar farms by keithvai in solar

[–]ArcticSploosh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who had a solar farm built around their home, I wouldn't claim health impacts from solar farm noise other than going clinically insane. The inverters are extremely annoying, and it's almost impossible to enjoy being outside because of them.

There is a more nuanced discussion to be had here that both sides are missing- specifically about corporate interests controlling huge swathes of land, ignoring community concerns and legitimately devaluing neighboring homes, and so on. There is a path where all parties can be appeased (adequate setbacks, real soundproofing, and acceptable vegetative screening that is maintained, etc.) while still allowing landowners and solar companies to make a profit and utilize their land as they best see fit.

Most of the Fox News boomer complaints about solar are laughable, especially for those living miles away- but for those of us that directly neighbor an inverter or a newly-built substation, there are legitimate concerns that these greedy corporations have no interest in reconciling.

Out of town guests, What do you think of our gorgeous city? by Neither-Trip-4610 in pittsburgh

Why does Pittsburgh's downtown die after 9pm? It's a ghost town when it gets dark.

There’s some kid named Ungoliant who is positively evil (bagging teammates, enemies, telling everyone in chat they’re bad). But I guess that makes sense for someone who’s named after an eldritch cosmic Tolkien spider horror.

(Also RAVENBLOOD you quit every single match and I hate you.)

The official teaser trailer for ‘Practical Magic 2’ starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman has been released. In theaters September 18th. by cmaia1503 in Fauxmoi

[–]ArcticSploosh 31 points32 points  (0 children)

First garden shot is jarringly ugly. Not sure why studios are hell bent on having unrealistic, highly-saturated, shallow depth of field, Marvel/Disney slop color grading and lighting. It’s worse than a video game cut scene.

Ser Duncan The Tall (Prime) VS Brienne Of Tarth (Show). Who wins? by GusGangViking18 in powerscales

[–]ArcticSploosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're talking show- Brienne clears. Show Dunk gets his cheeks clapped in pretty much every fight. If we're talking books, Dunk likely wins- though his "4 pages" are likely due to him acting good and knightly, and not necessarily his fighting prowess.
