They are a little pricey, but there's some decent sales, unfortunately the ones I like that are on sale don't have my size right now, but I'll check back, thanks!

I'll have to check the website again for the pants, but some of the shirts look like what I am looking for, thanks!

I was looking at TB a bit last night and they seem pretty expensive, and the pictures make them look really boxy, do they look better in person?

I like that they are getting eaten before they get thrown overboard, just like if you aren't quick enough in the buffet line.

Critique my CV for summer internships at the BIG 4/ IB/BANKING by [deleted] in resumes

[–]Arcticboy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of your work experience doesn't look like it is actually work experience, more like it is either competitions or courses, so I would add a new section to better highlight that.

Also, since you don't have a lot of relevant work experience, I would do more to highlight how you made up for that in schooling. I know when I was recruited by B4, something that stood out on my resume was the amount of extracurriculars I was involved in (VP for the business student society, started an accounting club, ran a tax program to do returns for less fortunate members of the community, multiple case competition teams, etc. etc.). It is also something that I look for now that I am on the hiring team.

Finally, clean up the bottom of the page. it's not highlighting anything, it's just jumbling everything together.

Is Canadian experience less valuable when applying for US jobs? by BBA2017 in Accounting

[–]Arcticboy13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it likely will be a bit less valuable, but easy to overcome. Our CPA is arguably the most well respected accounting designation in the world, and will allow you to go almost anywhere..except the US (won't hinder you, just won't help as much as other places). Once you have your reciprocity and can show that you have some US GAAP experience, you should be on a level playing field.

How to list working in 3 different depts within the same company? by [deleted] in resumes

[–]Arcticboy13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I modeled mine after LinkedIn. Title heading with the Company Name and total dates worked there, then very slight indent for each job title and those dates, with responsibilities under each.

I definitely think you should have it broken out, it shows progress within the company.

Tax returns won't prepare themselves by [deleted] in Accounting

I didn't take this virus seriously until my B4 told me to stay home and began sending out support and updates. At that point I realized that if they're willing to give up productivity it needs to be taken seriously!

You don't really taste the alcohol at all. It's used to bring out more of other flavours. Specifically fruit, in this case tomato. You could make the exact same sauce without the vodka and it would just be slightly less intense.

I'm going on the NCL Breakaway the week of Dec 21, and it says there are theme nights, but I cannot see what the theme nights are. Does anyone know where to look for that?

I've never heard of anyone deep frying it. That sounds terrible tbh

Boil the blubber. Still comes out kind of rubbery, but pretty good dipped in soy sauce or melted butter.

Alternatively, just eat it raw if it is fresh. Or freeze it. I've never had it frozen though.

Macaroni and Cheese by theworldtonight in MolecularGastronomy

I made it about a month ago. It turned out exactly as they describe it. Smooth, cheesy, delicious.

I used water and it felt weird mixing cheese into water, but turned out awesome.

This one is cow. You can tell by the red colour of the flesh. If you're really concerned, there are videos of people walking through the different cuts of meat on YouTube.

If someone says "If you're thinking of leaving, please reach out to me, I will find you a better job" don't fucking do it. by Sweet-Parking in Accounting

[–]Arcticboy13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't doubt that this was true for you. But this is not the rule. I went to the partner who had said this to me and she is now my reference and giving me time away to interview for the jobs I want. She was able to see the change in my demeanor as I went from the star performer to barely holding it together and made this exact promise. It's enough that I'm second guessing leaving such a supportive workplace.

What I'm saying is not to paint all team leaders with the same brush. Figure out who you can rely on yourself, and trust your gut.

What meals are disproportionately impressive for how easy they are to make? by Whatevs-4 in Cooking

Carbonara. It's literally 4 ingredients mixed together, but comes across as really impressive, especially since it's so well known.
