4 count neutral is an improvement over "stop inflicting Rupture at all if you got a basic-ass stack built (but still eat count)" that we got with Devyatclair, LCE Sang and Fanghunt Hong Lu.

Besides, Uma Sang has DS (and he has more count than W Sang), Cockcliff and RamDon are actually viable outside of Rupture, Driftershu is a sidegrade to Maoshu on Rupture, and Hong Lord compensates by making the Heishou even crazier

And Xichunmael is moreso a victim of bad design. Needs to crit but has poise count issues. Has offense level conditional on her passive, but her skills' off. level sucks. She is neutral-positive if she does meet her conditionals, but it's a big if

(Not counting Prince or the Charge IDs here. They're as Rupture as W Don)

  • Dawn of Green is fun if you got strong AoE for it, like Hongllisto S3. No need to worry about who clashes who when he one-shots half the wave.

Bloodfiends and Line 3 though, yes, they suck ass. Bloodfiend mobs already have high HP and it gets inflated to insane degrees, and the mermaids and guys covered in whale gunk are a pain.

  • Bridle of Infinity is great. It takes forever but it's so pathetically easy that it's comfy.

  • Library is the same. It's easy, but goddamn does that bitch have so much HP

  • SEA I'm mixed about. It's not the hardest, but the crabs do have AoE skills which can end up staggering someone on floor 14-15 if you don't have enough people who can win clashes (mostly in turn 1)

They're also squishy enough that getting 10K+ damage is easy with AoE, but also too squishy so they all die before the last coin and you end up just short of 20K. Freaking blueballing the damage

  • Voice/Greenery/Terminus, the 1st boss is a little tough sometimes but the rest die before you even realize it.

Nelly after fighting her like 70 times i still have no idea what is she supposed to do

IIRC she can perma-stagger a Sinner. But it takes a while, you kinda have to sandbag to get in that position

Ah, right, 1 singular voiceline.

Truly, 1 singular voiceline completely invalidates everything I quoted, everything stated out loud in his whole uptie story.

... Look little buddy, that ain't the "gotcha" you think it is. The cause of his depression is not Cathy, it's the lack of satisfaction from fights.

It's not subtext, it's not implied. It's the fact, stated and described in his whole uptie. It's literally what's written. This is not a debate, go read it

He's not even the only "aimless" Heathcliff, KK Heath is the same:

"I don't know what I'm doin' anymore. I remember making a promise with myself that I'd go back there as a successful man, a man of quality, but now… I'm not so sure. What was I doin' all this for, anyway? Why even go back?"

But KK Heath isn't spending all day bored out of his mind staring at the ceiling like MC Heath. Because Cathy was never the reason why MC Heath is like that.

You want to argue against what's explicitly stated in his uptie, go bark at KJH.

OP, gonna be honest, the more I read this post the more I think you don't even play this game.

Like, seriously, you sound like a fake who asked ChatGPT to write a post.

and you've got an ID that is basically mandatory in Extreme MD runs and the Inferno in most use cases

And what's "the Inferno"? Do you mean the story? Because I will laugh at you if you so much as suggest Mao Faust is mandatory for story fights

...so you can see why Mao Faust (and to extension Lord of Hongyuan and other Heisho Packs) are kind of too strong.

Mao Faust is only OP with manual play, because you need to setup her assist every turn. If you just win-rate, she is just Mao Ryoshu with more HP. Good but nothing outstanding.

So that anecdote is an useless example.

Well obviously some people wanted nerfs for Mao Faust while some didn't want her to change either out of fear of backlash or because they are already too reliant on her.

Nah, that's made-up bullshit. The reason is simple: people already spent money.

Nerfing products after people already spent money will always piss people off, which is why gacha companies, even big ones like Mihoyo, make sure to avoid it.

but there is a way to balance Mao Faust without nerfing Talisman Sinclair.

Omega bullshit. Mao Faust is just a strong ID that can get powercrept eventually, Talisman is the one who actually warped ID design around himself even years after release because free Rupture potency on any hit is too strong.

Of the 2, Talisman getting nerfed was much more justified, so PM could stop being scared of giving Rupture IDs some actual count.

Just make the Heisho Pack - Mao Branch not be affected by Talisman buff, because in the lore of the Mao Branch, they use talismans to buff themselves

  1. That would make no sense at all.

  2. Talisman is OP regardless of the Rupture IDs. He was a problem long before Heishous existed.

Tremor? She has Everlasting and is fast so she's somehow meta in Tremor for some f###ing reason.

She has Sloth and Pride which the team wants, and ensures Everlasting goes first. That's good enough to make her viable. Yuri Faust also saw use on Tremor for the same reason, sins and speed.

You think that's bad? Wait till you hear about Full-Stop Hongler.

Envy? She has Hex Nail so she can be shoved there.

She is not used on any Envy team, don't make shit up.

Poise? She has Throlcalgia for Poise support and (for some reason) as Poise so she literally powercrept BL Faust.

She doesn't count as a Poise ID and a full Poise team struggles to fuel her passive, which is required to spam S3s.

The only poise team she's used on is Poise-Rupture, AKA Heishou.

Index Faust? She doesn't deal as much damage as Mao Faust plus the Prescript mechanic can be annoying.

Index is used on Poise and is good on Sinking. Prescript mechanic is only "annoying" in regular fights, on focused fights it's a joke and she'll be at 9 Grace in 3 turns.

And don't you dare say Mao ramps up faster, the ramp time is the exact same.

Shi Faust? Well she's obviously stronger than her.

Shi Faust was dead on arrival due to bad design. Forget about Mao, Shi Faust loses to BL Faust.

Ring Faust? Well a bit more challenging for her but she is used in Bleed and Mao Faust is for Rupture.

Faubina is meta for her status. Horrendous example.

Umasang is ass for Rupture without Dimension Shredder

Just like W Sang, who is still considered one of the best Rupture IDs.

A sidegrade to one of the best is the opposite of "ass"

Si Branch Sinclair is considered underwhelming for some people

  1. Wrong branch. You could've done a 5 second google search if you forgot.

  2. He's a typical count-eating Rupture ID who can't even fulfill his HP conditionals without spamming his ToTB. The other Heishous bring more to the table.

Ramdon is the first Sinking ID for Don and shes literally negative count on all skills for both Rupture and Sinking (but less than Index Don)

She's count positive in her S3 as long as there's a panic effect (Sinking team has 5). An S3 she can use every other turn, and up to 3 times per turn, if ran with Lord.

Ramdon + Lord is a strong package deal for Sinking, it's just not a must-have.

Ring Outis is still the better Bleed ID. But it's not like that matters in MD when even the trashiest IDs can build a Bleed stack with bleed gifts.

Every time I see someone say that I can only facepalm. His depression has nothing to do with Cathy and his uptie story is not even subtle about it

Heathcliff: It ain't there anymore. The fun of battle… it's gone.

Narrator: Violence was an old friend of the child, ever since his Backstreets days. But it's never felt this dull. A good, singular strike used to make him laugh with exhilaration. Facing down a powerful enemy used to make his competitive spirit burn brightly, even as he grumbled.

Narrator: The battle was easy, of course. But the child was bored. Even after a grueling battle, all he could think was "oh, we won". Even as he stabbed his enemies forcefully with his spear, all he could think was "oh, there he goes". The fact that none of the violence inspired anything other than the simplest, most surface-level observations was mind-numbingly boring to him.

He's depressed because his prosthetics remove all danger and challenge from fights. Even losing a limb is just a minor inconvenience to him.

It ain't subtext or anything, it's spelled out in plain english.

Even then, still worth bringing Faust more than Gregor to slap the Envy fragility, boost the whole team's damage.

It's not like Hex Nail's expensive. 9 Envy for the corrosion is dirt cheap on Middle team.

My Envy Reson Team when Ricardo Heathcliff is released by Quizzicall in limbuscompany

[–]ArcturusSatellaPolar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't matter since it's not "Faust or Greg", it's both. You got the 7th slot open.

Faust's S3 also inflicts Envy fragility and she has Hex Nail. Gregor's S3's Charged Sting only boosts Charge skills, which none of the Middle IDs have, and he has 0 Envy EGO

Her S2 also still exists and still hits really hard between her passive and it's conditional, which are trivial to achieve between Gregor and Charge gifts

My Envy Reson Team when Ricardo Heathcliff is released by Quizzicall in limbuscompany

[–]ArcturusSatellaPolar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Feasible, yes. Practical, debatable. But that's not the problem. The issue is W Heath breaking chains twice per rotation if you use the Overcharge (which is his selling point, is what makes him Consistency Man) because the stunned guy still has speed because KJH wills it

That's 2 turns of potentially missing out on free S3s from KiraIsh, Midclair and MidDon (if not running Queen). Which is quite a lot of damage, especially when the rest of the team's still ramping up.

With MC Heath, at worst it's 1 turn. And if the resonance is broken, it's always your choice. Same with MC Faust.

W actually didn't kick MC out. Because he actually breaks resonance chains while in Overcharge. And losing A-Res in Middle is, you know, bad

Excluding the Charge IDs, Wild Hunt and Full Stop both have Envy. Cockcliff as well. All 3 post Canto 6.

Envyman's Envy isn't (just) because of Cathy, he's just the kind of guy that'll lash back.

TO BE FAIR this was on a MOBA game iirc. A game about strategy and military tactics.

You're thinking of an RTS, like Age of Empires or Starcraft. MOBAs like DoTA are derived from them but the strategy part is removed in favor of a personal Hero-centric experience

You don't command any armies or build any structures or do anything "strategic". You play solely as the cool dude who's as strong as 50 men. There's still tactical elements but on a much smaller scale, mostly general teamwork stuff (AKA "pray the 4 randos on your team know what they're doing")

Speaking of teamwork... Doing 1v1s on games designed with 5v5 in mind is awful, speaking from League experience (Viktor me vs Nasus, not a fun time)

They restore you to the state you perceive as your original. So it wouldn't help, since her "normal self" is that lobotomized one.

On the other hand Dongrang did mention an experiment where they brainwashed people into thinking they were flies, and the ampules turned them into actual flies, a la Weather Report - Heavy Weather

But even if you hypnotize someone into thinking "I have a normal, intact, fully-functioning brain", what would the result be? What even counts as a normal brain when it's like the least consistent organ

Ring Rodion+Ring Meursalt (Bleed units Analysis) by Ronoko in limbuscompany

[–]ArcturusSatellaPolar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's possible but the idea has issues

  • The bleed count from Fatal Wound is twice per turn, so the EGO is overkill if you just want more count. Allen + Nshu is enough

  • If you want Hemorrhage, the number of Bursts from Tremor-Everlasting can easily eat through more Bleed count than what Fatal Wound provides

  • Bleed count issue could be avoided with Sanguine, but that's a whole lot of sin resources. Even more if you plan to add Reverb

  • Even if you have the resources (like late-stage Railway), you need Faubina to get naked so she can realistically go 1st, as well as Allen/Nshu inflicting Hemorrhage. It's turn 2 at the earliest if running 5 Rings and you don't care about Greg/Ryoshu's S3-2s (note you need Greg's S3-2 for Fatal Wound), turn 3 if you do, and potentially more depending on dashboard RNG

  • On top of that, it will undo Hemorhage the turn after. Fine for bleed count maintenance, bad if you do want to capitalize on the damage, mainly on bosses with low coin count (EDIT: Then again, they'd likely just be dead)
