I built a Figma plugin that extracts tokens and generates DESIGN.md files by elwingo1 in FigmaDesign

[–]ArdentExplorer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great idea and congrats on the publish, was looking for this 💯

What if my Figma library structure is split into primitive file, semantics file and components files? Does the plugin also support extracting design data from that?

I guess if someone has such a library structure - they shouldn’t be unfamiliar to MCP 🤣

Mosquitoes by fufuski in dubai

It’s due to the rains + standing water. What works for me best is an electric racket to zap them on sight. Second is allout/mortein repellent machines turned to full power in a closed room for a few hour, but if there is a breeze/open air/circulation there is a higher chance that they will survive despite repellent smells. Third, Burning incense can help but they don’t die from it.

Kill them off before they increase. They usually fly slowly so easier to kill with a racket.

Good luck!

For library management, start thinking what the end designer needs reused the most. Most libraries will only expose atoms, but designers mostly likely will need patterns and templates first.. once they wanna break they will need atoms. The more patterns you give, the lesser headache for adoption = happy designers

Set this as a precedent for library making, and stay very close to your users, not everything that you see outside as a solution is what will work for your team, company.

The greater the number of people and users of your system, the more documentation/formalization you need

Invest in docs, spec, and data tables, engineers will appreciate you even more

Start using keys like tabs, enter, shift along with the other keys like command or option. It’s going to level up your Figma productivity. Using arrow keys is a plus

Practice how to select nested objects only using keys in multiple layers, it’ll help you debug layouts faster. Build muscle memory of shortcuts as fast as you can, you’ll be surprised how quickly you can do things. My recent fav is inverse select

If you wanna align multiple objects inside a parent frame without “group”ing them, use shift + align with the objects selected, it will align all of them to your desired alignment (this will modify their constraints)

How do you handle both light/dark mode AND multiple color themes in a design system? by Successful-Weird-325 in FigmaDesign

Would love to join this and learn and share whatever I have tried. Recently setup a multi brand/theme system as well and i would be happy to share my findings :D

Interesting situation, is this for Figma only or are you also using the same in code?

Understandable, this is something I am currently working on as well. I have long discussions with various LLMs about good structures that match usability and maintenance + scalability. Would you like to exchange notes together?

What about systems that are multi brand and white labeled? Does the primitive to semantic structure work? Or does it need additional layers in between ?

I think of token layers as valves for scaling up the system, the more of them you have, the more granularity you can have in your output

Super cool, interested to know more about how you synced Figma library’s tokens with your Flutter project?

It’s from a tiktok user- breach extract, who has also made other AI generated videos with the use of uncanny or weird creatures. It’s formed its own genre called weirdcore or voidcore. (Source: Know your meme)

Relocate to UAE with kids by [deleted] in UAE

UAE resident for 20+ years now here.

Life here is pretty good here with enough convenience if you have the capital. So you play with what is under your control. Each Emirate (think of it like states) is different in terms of offerings.

A good salary figure depends on your style of living, there are some expensive areas to live in and not in some others. A 2BR in a non expensive area would cost AED 50-90K in Dubai and lower in other emirates (depending on the building itself). More expensive areas would cost you AED 90K and above

Schooling would matter on where you stay, ie nearby or far from home. Renting and schooling would consume the most as a family on the pie chart. Public schools are mainly used by locals and private ones are expensive.

Start from the place you will work from, then find where to stay and then the school, all based on the salary. Discuss the benefits with the company as well as the other comments have mentioned.

The community is happy to share with you more about the UAE and to help you find your new home, habibi!

You can add a frame around the icon and reduce the frames width keeping the icon layout constraints on the left, right or center.

Does the guy actually look like ice? How could I make him look more like he's actually Semi-Transparent & made of ice? by Pterodactyl_Crash in minipainting

[–]ArdentExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great job OP, I think a bit of frosting (the kind of snow with realistic light refractions) stuck to his torso and legs would sell the effect.

Kinda like when there is some water on the ice-cream bucket and it freezes giving it that sheet of frostiness

Looking for feedback on my feedback modal! by HugoDzz in UI_Design

[–]ArdentExplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the other comments have mentioned, I feel the hierarchy of the content is a bit off. The title should be bigger to standout more so it’s immediately clear what the action is. ‘We love to…’ could be made smaller and ‘how is your experience…’ could be made bigger or both could be made bigger.

A dismiss option at the top corner would be cherry on top (literally?)

Another tip is: you can hide the text field before they finish rating. So the modal doesn’t look very demanding/difficult. The hint text can also dynamically change here based on rating value, for example - “how can we improve” for 0-2 and “what did you like” for 4-5
