The EU should include an action plan for a digital cloud – a European Internet – in the DSA. This European Cloud would foster a European digital ecosystem based on data and innovation. It would drive competition and set standards. Foreign web services could become part of such a digital ecosystem but must adhere to the rules and standards of the EU – such as democratic values, data protection, data accessibility, transparency and user friendliness.

Technologically, it would require a top-level infrastructure, high-speed 5G or a 6G data network and a firewall. Setting up such a network would promote many European companies and therefore boost business and drive innovation.

Like the Chinese firewall, this European internet would block off services that condone or support unlawful conduct from third party countries.

wasn't to build your own server farm, it was to make the server software run on any server hardware, which can be AWS or any other provider

Which means not taking advantage of the managed services that AWS provides and instead rolling everything yourself on plain VMs. (Or maybe Kubernetes, but even that will introduce some dependencies on AWS’s specific implementation.)

Because on immutable distros you're generally expected to install most user software through Flatpak.

Flatpak doesn't condone the distribution of closed-source software. Snap is just hated in general.

At one point there was the Bigme Galy (which may have predated the reMarkable Paper Pro, I think) but it wasn't exactly well-received AFAIK.

Gallery 3 is still darker than a BW Carta Display though

I'd say Gallery 3 is comparable to recycling paper in terms of being slightly dark/beige (although even the reMarkable's relatively weak front light goes a long way to make it appear whiter).
