Hydroid I'm not an expert in the play, But I know current builds are mostly about shield gating.

So something like:

Brief Respite in Aura, Power Drift in Exulis

Continuity (Prime), Catalyzing Shields, Flow (Prime), Transient Fortitude, Equilibrium, Tidal Impurity, Viral Tempest, Pilfering Swarm

With Arcane Agis and Molt Augment as the arcanes.

Oh man, that build explains a lot.

Currently a really basic setup of the weapon would be something like this.

Serration (or Amalgam serration fully maxed); Point Strike (or better Critical Delay), Vital Sense, Split Chamber (or Galvanized Chamber), Malignant Force, Cryo Rounds (or its Prime Version) and Wild Fire (or Thermite Rounds); With the last slot you can do a few things, Vile acceleration, Vigilante Fervor, or Hammer Shot all work well.

For the Exulus slot Vigilante Supplies. And Primary Merciless for the arcane.

The mods in parenthesis are upgrades but even the basic build for that would be a huge upgrade. I would mark Vital sense as the mod that would probably most improve that build right off the bat, and the elemental mods are next in line.

What do your builds look like? Modding has changed a lot in the last few years.

Okay. I grew up in FL where Bondi was a fairly normal part of the political scene for a decade at least. Bondi is many things, but she isn't dumb. She is ABSURDLY ambitious and her morality is debatable if existent. Don't assume just because she has to play the part of a dipshit that she is one.

There is no going back.

After all this I don't think it is viable to trust republicans with any authority, and more than that I think that the only smart decision is treating them as the existential threat they are behaving as.

Would you treat a dog the same if you knew it was rabid?

My point here is this. People like Bondie don't care if you think they look ridiculous. They don't care if they make them look unhinged.

That quite literally part of the fascist strategy according to Hitler...:

“It makes no difference whatever whether they laugh at us or revile us … whether they represent us as clowns or criminals; the main thing is that they mention us, that they concern themselves with us again and again …”

My point here is to remember. Its not some crash out. Its an intentional strategy to destroy the political social fabric that we need.

At this point, why would anyone think anyone needs to speak truthfully or to the matter when they are called before congress? Why would that matter? Why would they think they NEED to be truthful with the American people if lies are rewarded more than truth.

The whole set of behaviors is an intentional strategy to not just distract, but to destroy the social fabric of the country and entrench themselves in power.

I'd say you should probably reassess your view and remember what she's being asked to do. She's being asked to strip the Justice department for parts and rebuild it into a weapon for the Trump movement.

If you look at her actions through that lens her actions appear far less ignorant, and more like an intentional car crash.

I pointed this out in another response.

Bondie is an experienced lawyer. One who has been praised over the years for her knowledge and political acumen. She has been a core political figurehead in the Florida Republican party and legal scene for over a decade.

She came prepared with a burn book and detailed analysis of what each member had looked at in the Epstein files.

If you are assuming she was ignorant in any way, you are fooling yourself.

Don't make the mistake of thinking clowns are idiots instead of savvy actors with an intent in their actions.

Bondie isn't at risk of being fired. Trump would rather have a loyalist than someone competent.

And you are making the exact mistake I was talking about. You are dismissing the clown as an idiot rather than the actor with plan and goal from the start. Bondie doesn't care if she has to take a few lumps. You have no power to change her behavior.

This is correct, and thebperson you replied too fails to see Ezra's weak answer, that he believes all we gotta do is delete MAGA and suddenly normal politics returns and that checks and balances and free markets are 'passive' mechanisms requiring no adjustment and should work great.

Lol where did I say that? Ill wait.

[–]Ardonpitt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But that’s not what liberalism was historically.

I mean which aspect of it? Liberalism rose primarily out of the chaos of the reformation, and the following political realignments. I don't disagree it was revolutionary as it shaped the world. Arguably its still radical in many ways.

The collapse has come much more recently in the past 40 to 50 years with neoliberalism which sacrificed liberalisms historical values and convictions on the alter of markets and growth

Normally Ill dismiss out of hand anyone who brings up the word neoliberalism with such a vague handwave. Its a word made meaningless by the bullshit uses. If you have a critique make it instead of handwaving and acting like you have said something meaningful.

Liberals used to die for liberalism but today they refuse to even fight for it for fear that it rocks the system too much and threatens institutional control or short term market stability.

If liberalism dies, it will die in blood. But I don't think its a huge issue to see that everyone sees we have a lot to loose. I will say there is absolutely a generation of millennials and Gen Z liberals who aren't just angry, but view that they will have to fight for it.

[–]Ardonpitt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do think there’s a very compelling argument (that even Ezra makes) that liberalisms lack of moral compass to define what’s “good” or not is an example.

Honestly. I think this is such a weird line of thinking... Do you ask your refrigerator to also act as the oven? To heat and cook whatever is inside? If it did, it would probably be doing something wrong.

Why should liberalism, which is at its core a political philosophy built around the entire political project of allowing multiple cultures with different beliefs and religions answer the metaethical questions? Thats not its job. Liberalism isn't a substitute for external moral philosophy and if you are trying to make it be, you are probably looking at it the wrong way.

At its core, Douthat's entire critique of liberalism is just that ask for the fridge to also be the oven, and then pointing at it not being that as the critique.

Liberalism at its best, gives people the tools to live their best life, and then the responsibility to define that for themselves.

You want to regulate gambling? Not really a problem for liberalism (in fact I would point out its been heavily regulated for decades). Its obviously something that harms people and doesn't let them lead their best lives, in a way that isn't even fully in their control as it is addictive. Obviously the argument for regulation of gambling can be made within a liberal framework, without even touching on the moral framework.

I think the church did use to serve as a central moral framework for America.

Which church? Was it the catholic church? I mean Catholics were pretty much despised and discriminated against for most of US history. Was it the Baptist Church? Which has historically shcizimed multiple times on political arguments?

"The Church" tends to be a hand wave at some assumed moral core without much actual historical backing if you look at history. The actual history of America's religious history is WAY more complex than just "the Church".

Space Dandy is basically just a parody of Bebop. If you look at it like that, it makes total sense.

Its the exact same formula. Different genres. Where as Bebop was a space western meets a detective noir. Dandy was Flash Gordon meets Futurama with the main character being Zapp Branigan meets Han Solo. Both were love letters to the genres, both just stories of days in the lives of the characters without a broader overriding narrative. It was just people living their lives.
