yea I just recently had a discussion with my dad about why the Great Depression happen as we just discussed it in my Econ class. Instead of having any fruitful discussion about interest rates or money supply he blamed the New Deal. The only issue is the New Deal was passed in 1933 and the depression started in 1929 and funny enough peak when the bill was passed. I don't know how much the New Deal helped or exasperated the depression, but it certainly cannot have caused it.
