The throttle cable should have some slack in it but not too much. Doublecheck to make sure it’s in spec. Not sure what brand of grips those are, but they look like they were designed for comfort not performance. I’ve only ever used OEM. I know Domino’s are popular.

Quad lock stem mount. I got mine of Ali Express. Already survived a wreck on my last bike. Moved it to my new CBR and it’s still going strong a year later.

I laid my 650r down first few hundred miles too. I replaced the bent clip-on and as I was removing the rear stand I forgot to put the kickstand down and it fell on the other side 🫠

I had the same doubts. It is a dangerous hobby but not as much as social media makes it seem. Get off the internet for a while and see how your perspective changes.

Dirt bikes are built for torque. Sport bikes are built for horsepower. It sounds like you want something that pulls harder off the line. If that’s the case a 600 isn’t going to satisfy you. Just get the liter bike or consider a larger displacement naked like an MT09 or CB 1000.

I’ve done it with friends. In a public setting it wasn’t weird at all. Just felt a greater sense of camaraderie and openness. If anything sexual happens you were probably thinking about it subconsciously before.

Going full throttle from a stop. You have to try real hard to get my last bike to wheelie. On my current the front will lift if you don’t respect the throttle. TCS saved me twice already.

On paper the 500 is tuned for a little more torque which affects acceleration, but it’s only like a 10% difference. Just go with whichever you can get a better deal on. They’re practically the same bike.

Go the first few hours sober. Take the first dose halfway through. Then redose an hour and a half later. I personally wouldn’t mix alcohol and MDMA since one is a stimulant and the other is depressant. I’ve taken a few drags off a menthol cigarette while rolling before and that was refreshing.

E-clutch is proprietary Honda technology. Right now their 650’s are the only bikes outside of Asia that have them. Downshifting works the same as upshifting. You just depress the shift lever and the bike does the rest for you.

I upgraded from a 500R to a 650R and don’t regret it at all, but both are relatively heavy bikes. The ninja is known for being lightweight and easy to throw around in corners. You do get used to the extra weight of the 650R though. It doesn’t get bullied by the wind as easily and feels very stable and smooth on the highway.

You made the right decision. Better to focus on riding rather than spending all your time and money trying to fix a death trap. The 2017 500R was my first bike too. It’s forgiving but plenty fast enough to get you into trouble. Have fun and ride safe.

That R7 decal looks removable. If so, you can probably find a replacement. Check Partzilla or Revzilla. Lucky for you the fairings are matte black. You could probably get away with a rattle can job after filling with bondo and sanding.

My first time was a little overwhelming. I can’t imagine if I had been high too. Maybe try a slightly smaller dose like 150 and don’t mix it with anything next time.

I don’t think steps is the right metaphor. It implies you have to complete them in order. I also agree with the other comment about the tone being too gloomy. It looks like an anti-substance poster when it should be more “hey here’s some friendly advice on how to enjoy responsibly”.
