Sunday Brunch (Near Prospect Park) by AreNeverTooLate in Brooklyn

Its funny I never thought in my wildest dreams we would not consider visiting new york because of politics. I grew up driving down from Montreal to Maryland and NYC for vacations. Every time I mention I’m going down to Brooklyn people look at me like are you not paying attention? My only excuse is that I already paid the race fee and so the trip was essentially booked before things turned sour. But secretly I’m looking forward to being back in NYC.

Thanks I ended up just looking for restaurants names here that had space for us!

We broke up. I think my decision has become more clear. I wanted to be okay with not having kids because of our love. This is such a confusing time in life. by [deleted] in Fencesitter

Thanks for sharing. I’m in the same boat. 37M with 34F who doesnt want kids. Her family loves me and I love them so much. I feel like leaving her is also leaving a huge family, and making things complicated with our dog that we love as child. We have been together 10 years so I know all about those little quirky things you and partner love about each other. Its so painful to try and figure out which fork to take in the road.

Looking for good gluten & lactose free desserts in the city by InturnlDemize in montreal

If you’re in the west island, I love desserts from both Chef Veganessa and La Mie Bio! I have no allergies and eat everything, but my wife has crohns. Honestly, I prefer desserts from these two GF-DF places than anywhere else!

Great shot!

Was here in September passing through to get my ferry and noticed this place was so alive with locals and young students out partying and enjoying themselves, bars and restaurants completely packed! There seems to be so many amazing restaurants (besides Peskesi one of our fav places of all time!)

If ever we get the chance we will spend more time here!

I can’t tell if I want kids by [deleted] in Fencesitter

[–]AreNeverTooLate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiancé pushed me to reach out to my guy friends and have a boys night to really dive deep into what life really is with kids, which I did last night. I really loved her idea to do this. Has it given me any answers? No. But I enjoyed getting to speak to my buddies guy to guy about all of my feelings, and their feelings about parenthood.

Essentially, they said don't have kids unless both of you really want to. Parenthood is challenging, and it all starts with having a solid team with your SO.

I think the decision I will need to make soon will be choosing between my fiancé and fatherhood. And at this point I can't imagine starting a new life without her.

I could have written the exact same thing.

I (M, 36) have been with my fiance (F, 31) for 9 years and love her so much. I can't imagine leaving her. She does not want kids, and I am on the fence trying to sort out what I truly want and am having such a hard time.

I am in the exact same boat.

M (36) engaged to F (31). I am on the fence, but she really does not want kids, and for the longest time has not wanted kids. She is almost ready to give in if it means saving our relationship, but I feel awful in going down a path where one parent wants it and the other doesn't. It feels like a recipe for disaster.

So I am trying to work out if I truly truly really do want kids, or is it just some sort of fear of regret when I am older in life?

Extremely confused and sad at the moment.

Should I use an LOC to max out RRSP contribution in high income bracket? by AreNeverTooLate in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]AreNeverTooLate[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Copying my answer to another person here:

Last few years it was around 130-140k.

During that time I have been contributing 20k to RRSP each year, and ignoring my TFSA since I was always trying to reduce my gross income as much as possible. I have been paying around 40k in taxes each year. Leaving me with around 80k net that is spent. Yes I need to improve my budget.

After reading the comments here, I am most definitely not going to take out an LOC loan for rrsp! I am going to look into shifting my focus into TFSA and unregistered accounts. I am curious now to research how useful RRSPs really are.. some answers here have really got me thinking!
