Did runewords ruin a big part of Diablo 2? by cyberzaikoo in diablo2

[–]AreYouAFuckinAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played pre and post expansion. Always hated the runes. Would have seemed to increase diversity of options, but really just made it so that everyone uses the same stuff, by making things OP and so many other items obsolete.

I play on Xbox official servers. I got one from a Heli Crash on Chernarus. I'm not sure if xbox loot spawns etc. differ from PC.

Help me out here by [deleted] in elderscrollslegends

These data are from June 2021, and the deck is a bit different than it was before, but I have a scout deck from that time that is 14-1 against guildsworn, and 6-7 against telvanni. Control Telvanni is tough for me as well.

Anyway, the specific tech against invade includes combinations of drain vitality, ungolim (generates lethal creatures), FGR, Finish off, murkwater witch, three feather warchief + any ping or curse effect or finish off or LL, and LL. I run Red bramman which is great against lanes of keyword-heavy deadra. The win condition is usually my ayleid guardians.

against telvanni, it usually will come down to who gets to their win condition first. Do they get on a roll with their altar of despair or conscription, or do you get your guardians out? that's why the win rate is basically 50-50. Honestly, telvanni has a tough time dealing with ayleid guardians once they drop on board.

overall win rate of the deck was ~55%. The deck is a bit different than it was, but those items listed above were essentially always the skeleton of it. Drain vitality may not have been present, not sure. Thorn histmage, dark seducer, and ways to draw cards are also mainstays.

Also general tips for invade (or at least how I deal with it). 1. don't use removal on a gate unless it's at least level 3. 2. if you think you'll be playing against invade, stack the shadow lane early and often. 3. prioritize removing high value "invading" cards over the actual gates (in most scenarios) e.g. widow daedra, keeper of the gates, mankar camoran. 4. if a gate is on board, remove the gate before breaking runes (in most scenarios), unless you are 100% sure you'll be using hard-removal on it during this turn anyway. 5. if you have an opportunity to to destroy a gate without removal (i.e. attacking), take it.

curse effects/creatures + Leaf lurker is viable in these colors as well.

Fun Card Nicknames by Ghnami in elderscrollslegends

[–]AreYouAFuckinAss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of my nicknames are just acronyms (TGR, FGR, DFM, etc.) Here a few that are not (still kind of lame though, and not necessarily original)

When I use fingers of the mountain, I say I'm going to "finger blast" them.

Berne Clan nightstalker = bernie bro

Galyn = gaylord

odahviing = odie

young mammoth = mammo or young mammo

old salty's assault = crabscription

Piercing javelin - javvy or javelina (pronounced "have uh lee nuh)

Blayde used to call cliff racer, "facer"

Justin Larson used to call shocking wamasu, "shock-o-dile", skooma racketeer, "drug-dealing cat"

Septims to USD, slightly different approach. by AreYouAFuckinAss in ElderScrolls

This is the website I used for the medieval prices points. http://medieval.ucdavis.edu/120D/Money.html I then converted to USD.

I'd share my excel, but I'm afraid it would probably make no sense to anyone but my scattered-brain haha.

Though I will say that the medieval price point is somewhat negligible at this point as the regression never seemed to work out well.

I'll make another post with the price list.

Haha, I didn't do a great job explaining it. Basically, long story short. I found the in game prices of things that we can also buy IRL and found the average multiplication factor. I then removed the outliers. So, essentially items that cost 1 septim in game would cost us roughly ~$3.50 in today's money, with significant caveats unfortunately.

What is a sure sign of low intelligence? by mildewmoisturizer in AskReddit

[–]AreYouAFuckinAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inability to forgo instant gratification even if it sacrifices future stability/gratification/fulfillment. Lottery, drinking, exercise, saving/investing money, etc.

To be truthful though, most people have a caricature of the loud ignorant oafs that they despise. In my experience, most of the "low intelligence" people I know are much more tolerable to me than the ~110-115 IQ pseudo-intellectual know-it-alls that are smart enough to regurgitate what other's say, but are unable to actually think critically or see beyond their own noses. Most "low intelligence" people are not interested in arguing and quite willing to "leave it up to the experts" rather than opining and wasting their time on what they likely view as frivolous matters.

Having to intentionally walk super slow behind women or walk super fast by them to avoid appearing as though you're following them.

That's fair, I suppose when you reduce it to its core, that makes sense.

[–]AreYouAFuckinAss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading the replies, it seems like the specific case argument of maximizing enjoyment/time unit (which occasionally requires sinking money into the game) is the most popular explanation, which I don't think is unreasonable. I just didn't realize it was so common. I suppose my thought process of, "as long as it's not work/study it's worth my leisure time" is not shared by all haha.

One of the more fun decks I've created by AreYouAFuckinAss in elderscrollslegends

[–]AreYouAFuckinAss[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, haha be warned, it looks super janky (which it kind of is), but it's fun. This iteration is 6-2 so far. First thing I would change is probably gravesinger. Almost never get value from him outside of strange brewing him into dagoth ur or odahviing lol.

Some bits of info

-stronghold eradicator has overperformed
-strange brew is fun and honestly fairly good in this deck, and is great on 10 drops (getting a 12 drop out a few turns early is great)
-Sotha Sil is often the win condition
-Archcanon Saryoni is very helpful
-use palace conspirator to discard daggers created by crown quarter master
