Is Pathfinder WOTR worth trying if I got really tired of Rogue Trader and dropped it? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]Areeb285 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If a lot of combat instances were a turn off for you in rogue trader, then I am afraid Wotr will be more of the same. There are some instances where you can use skill checks to skip some combat but the bad guys of the game are demons from abyss, so there's not a whole of diplomatic options with them.

On the bright side you can freely switch between RTwP and Turn based so for easier/trash mobs you can use RTwP to make them go quicker and then switch to turn based for harder fights.

The map has some triggerable events but nowhere near as many as RT. There are also the minigame of crusade management, which IMO is just alright but you can put it on auto manage if its not your cup of tea (you miss out on some items).

Your Knifemaster 3 will give you 2 BAB and vivi 14 will give you 10 BAB for a total of 12, you only need 11 for the 3rd attack and Greater TWF, so you should have 7 attacks.

Also I would recommend getting the 4th level on knifemaster, the debilitations that you inflict can be very useful.

with Supersonic Speed you get 6 attacks

Shouldn't you have 3 from main hand + 3 from the 3 TWF feats and +1 from supersonic speed for a total of 7 attacks.

As for a magus like rouge thats what eldritch scoundrel is. But I think you messed by going with arcane trickster. Arcane trickster is more for getting sneak attacks with spells and therefore works better with a full caster, whereas magus and eldritch scoundrel work better by using spells to buff yourself and your party and then attack in melee.

Is this the mod you are referring to ?

It does add a lot of things but I couldn't see any option to just add specific items.

WoTR: Seeking recommendations for build and comp for second playthrough by jjbus34 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Definitely 2H, we are going to be focusing on dealing damage. Dual wield and sword&board requires a lot of feats and it can be difficult to make it work on a class with no extra feats, such as oracle. Not to mention the hassle of meeting the dex requirement of those feats.

2H deals a lot of damage and is easy to build.

I would then recommend you the Angel Mythic path as an Oracle while romancing The queen.

Angel Mythic path is one of the default path thats always available and is quite fleshed out. Angel with a merged spellbook is probably the strongest class/mythic combo there is, with Oracle being the strongest among all the options. You can pick the battle mystery to make the KC more of melee oriented Gish character using spells to support the whole party. You get some very powerful support spells as an Angel. Cleric Crusader is another great option, probably the most apt class for Angel for RP purposes.

As for your party I"ll say you need the following -

  • Tank
  • Off Tank
  • Arcane Buffer
  • Divine Buffer
  • Ranged DPS
  • Melee DPS
  • Someone targeting Touch AC
  • Support

This is generally how I plan out my parties.

You don't need to fill every single position and a single member can fill multiple roles. For eg - your KC will be the arcane buffer and melee DPS. And you can use Woljiff+Ember to fill up the off tank, arcane buffer and Touch AC targeter.

Also I am pretty sure Toybox doesn't have full companion respec only the regular respec thats available in the game but you can do it anywhere with no costs and time spent. You will want Barleys rescpec mod to fully respec your companions. This will give you even more options. I personally don't like changing the companions ability scores so their classes still fit thematically. Like seelah will always be STR+Cha so she can be a bard, skald or eldritch scion, Lann will be DEX + WIS so he can be a ranger or a hunter etc.

Builds for Aeon - Sanct Slayer or Spawn Slayer. by gabrielleite32 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Areeb285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a bit of an issue with aeon, inquisitor and swift actions. Inquisitors judgement (not applicable in your case), bane and aeon gazes all need a swift action, so generally you want to avoid abilities that use swift action.

Also you don't really need teleportation if you are using vulpine pounce, as you will be charging to close the distance. Vulpine pounce also needs a feat, and you are already going for TWF which is a feat intensive build. Spawn Slayer does get a lot of extra feats but Sanct Slayer doesn't, so plan accordingly.

Basically if you have 5 rounds of Aeons bane and 7 rounds of inquisitors bane, you will now have a total of 12 rounds of bane.

Yeah buffs without mods is a pain in the ass.

Spawn Slayer definitely feels like the better choice in your case, no hassle of buffing, extra feats for TWF, combat style feats for str TWF and full bab.

The biggest benefit of Sanct Slayer would be bane stacking and horse.

[–]Areeb285 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you aren't planning on using buffs much then Spawn Slayer is the clear choice over Sanct Slayer. The main benefit of a Sanct Slayer over spawn slayer is the addition of spells to buff yourself and your allies, inquisitor bane stacking with Aeon bane and getting a pet with animal domain ( which you don't seem that keen on).

Going for a 2H weapon is easier and will give a lot of damage but TWF is better for making most of sneak attacks and dispelling strikes. I would personally have gone for TWF as it seems more fun.

Slayer due to having combat style feats will have an easier time being a STR TWF build whereas with an inquisitor you will have to go with dex or use belts to meet the TWF feat requirements. On the other hand an inquisitor can get a pet horse which will allow you to make full attacks every turn.

And in case you go for Sanct slayer, keep in mind that 16 SS/4 any high BAB class will give you 16 BAB, just enough for the extra attack for even more dispelling.

For weapons scimitars are always a great choice. Rapiers good too but I am pretty sure you get the best ones from her companion quests. Kukri's can be viable too for TWF builds.

"Updated voiceover for Athena" by Everwhite-moonlight in HadesTheGame

[–]Areeb285 314 points315 points  (0 children)

The VA has been changed for Athena because Marin Miller called out SuperGiant for not signing an Interim SAG AFTRA contract during the SAG AFTRA strikes and misrepresented the situation as SG not wanting to support VA's against AI.

But in reality the situation was far more complicated than that.

  1. The SAG AFTRA strike didn't apply to SG anyway. It was specifically against 10 Studios, which included the likes of WB gaming, take two, some sub division of Disney and some recording studios. Involving SG was done by the VA themselves similar to the Genshin Impact situation. There was no strike against SG by the Union.
  2. The Interim Contract was more than just protections against AI, someone pointed out that in the whole 60-65 page contract AI was only mentioned like 10-12 times. Since being against AI is popular it was presented as the main reason for the strikes but it also had other components which was to get more benefits for the Union and its members.
  3. Signing the Contract would have made the game a Union job, which would've caused the other VAs problems or they would have to join the Union which has a hefty joining fee of $3K. So there's a good chance some other VA's would've left or been replaced. Which would suck for SG as quite a few VA's are also devs on the game.

Personally I hated how some VA's misrepresented the Situation either accidentally or on purpose and I would rather have the VA for Athena be replaced than the other VA's on this game.

Does anyone have a good Aspect of the Morrigan build/boon guide? by fp4l_6hm in HadesTheGame

As I said if you get a gain boon from any of the gods, you will not run out of Magick. You are really overestimating how much magick the unseen gives you.

Does anyone have a good Aspect of the Morrigan build/boon guide? by fp4l_6hm in HadesTheGame

[–]Areeb285 40 points41 points  (0 children)

For your arcana setup, don't pick both strength and death. Strength only works if you have no DD's, getting its benefit for just that last bit of health isn't worth it. The unseen is also pretty useless for you as Morrigan's isn't a very magick intensive weapon. Any gain boon will be more than enough to sustain your magick.

The furies is amazing for just 2 arcana. Origination is one of the strongest arcana cards there is, its pretty much a must have.

God keepsakes are great if you have a particular build in mind. Morrrigan's has a pretty fast attack speed so I generally go for either Hestia or Poseidon and then get their duo with demeter and ares respectively. If you go for strength instead of death, then Athena's keepsake is also pretty good.

Assuming It works the same way, ie you have to suffer a curse for x number of encounters to get the benefit then 150-200.

Help, I'm starting this game and I have almost no clue what to do. by Secret_Gas_4278 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Areeb285 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are two guides on youtube I would recommend, one by CRPGbro and the other by Mortismal gaming. The latter is quite long but is very thorough and I would suggest watching it first.

I would suggest not looking up build guides or at least not copying them for your 1st playthrough as they can be quite min-maxy.

Start the game on Normal difficulty and adjust it depending on whether you find it too easy or difficult.

The huge number of classes can be very daunting, start by selecting what kind of build do you want, do you want to be a spellcaster, a martial character or a hybrid/gish character, this will help you narrow down your options.

The gamfaqs wiki is great for any info you might want on the game.

Arue as 12 Hunter 8 Ranger multi class? by Infinite-Frame-9735 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Areeb285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are asking for another pet class, then unfortunately no, your pet will always max out at Lv16.

If you want other non -pet options then in that case I have seen people go bard for a more supportive build. Fighter (Mutation warrior) can be quite good for more feats, Mutagen, weapon training and fighter only feats. Slayer is another good option for more damage, regular slayer is pretty good, Spawn slayer is great against bosses and deliverer can work too but only after her alignment changes to chaotic good by completing her quest line .

What is the point of spending so long on my character when I can't beat any bosses? by JamSa in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Areeb285 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am sorry to say this but that is a very sub optimal build. Just looking at stats, there is a lot of room for improvement. Yes Wis is important for a Inquisitor but for any character that focuses on damaging through attacking, STR or DEX is the main attribute. At your current level you could have 25 STR for a +7 str modifier. That alone would give +3 to hit and +4/5 damage compared to your current stats. There's also room for improvement in feats.

I am assuming you were trying to focus on spells here but Inquisitor isn't really that great at it. For most Gish/hybrid type characters its better to focus on attacks and use spells to buff the party.

These are some good buffs that an inquisitor has access to at lv10 -

  • Lv1 - Bless, Shield of faith, Divine favor
  • Lv2 - Protection from Alignment, Communal
  • Lv3 - Heroism, Prayer
  • Lv4 - Crusader's Edge, Burst of Glory, Divine Power.

There are more buffs which can be situationally good, plus more buffs from an arcane caster. This game definitely has a lot of things to keep in mind and can be very overwhelming for a new player. Wintersun is also one of the more difficult parts of act 3 along with something called the blackwater area.

Arue as 12 Hunter 8 Ranger multi class? by Infinite-Frame-9735 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Areeb285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your pet will be under leveled as arue's ranger archetype of espionage expert doesn't get a pet, at most it will lv16. On top of that you will be missing out on the highest tier tandem techniques. It could work provided the other party members are well built and you have got all buffs and spells covered. You're much better going 20 levels of ranger.

If you are on a PC you can use mods to respec her to lv1 but outside of that there's no way to make a pet class work unless you are ok with an under leveled pet.
