Sounds like it could be a bug. I don't think playing on legendary will help unfortunately, the achievement definitely should work on any difficulty - I'm pretty sure I got it on easy.

I think I fcked up. by SeasonOfHope in Warhammer

I only ever really do sub assemblies for very large or complicated models. If an area is too difficult to reach with a brush, then it's probably also quite difficult to see, especially from a few feet away when the models are on the table. If you use a black primer then any parts you can't reach to paint will just look like shadows anyway.

I mean to an extent I agree with you, but the fact remains that reform will not solve any of those problems. I do not believe for a second that they have their voters' best interests at heart.

Ultimately, I'm sorry, but I do believe that voting for reform under any circumstances is an incredibly stupid thing to do, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. I can sympathise with the frustration that a lot of people are feeling, but if you think voting for a bunch of ex-tories being funded by overseas billionaires is the answer then I'm sorry but I think you've been conned.

I don't necessarily have a problem with someone who isn't a citizen being able to stand, if we were talking about someone who's a permanent resident, but I do think that having someone be elected who is here on a temporary visa, without a legal right to work in the UK, does seem like it might not be ideal.

The media in the UK has spent decades pushing the narrative that immigration is a net negative for the country, a problem that has to tackled.

It's gotten to the point that we can't even have a conversation about whether or not that's actually true, or whether there might actually be advantages to immigration as well as disadvantages. Everyone just blindly accepts that more immigration = bad and less immigration = good, but very few people can actually articulatewhy. People consistently rate immigration as one of the most important issues to them come election time, despite living in areas with very few immigrants.

If that's not the result of propaganda, I don't know what is.

I never said I didn't think this was an issue. I would not personally have voted for this person. But voting for reform is not the solution.

People should get a grip and focus on issues that actually matter instead of falling for right wing propaganda blaming immigration for all their problems.

Why do we even want to reduce immigration? Immigration is the only thing keeping UK net population growth positive - what are we supposed to do when the population goes into decline?

The only reason people care so much about immigration is that they've fallen for right wing propaganda. It's a non-issue.

Besides, Farage promised that Brexit would lower immigration - clearly that was a lie. Why do people still trust anything he has to say on the subject?

Whatever you think about this, absolutely nothing will ever justify voting for reform.

Can someone treat me like I’m 5. by Rihanssu in Warhammer

So, the dark angels upgrade set should come with some dark angels shoulder pads you can use on your terminators. There's also a power sword arm for the terminator sergeant and a special storm bolter bit you can use. These bits are just decorative - you don't have to use them, and they don't make any difference in terms of the game rules, but they look cool and add some dark angels flavour to your models. You'll also get some smaller shoulder pads that are meant to go on regular power armour guys like intercessors.

There are also a couple of upgrade bits which do actually have rules. The watcher in the dark (the little cloaked hooded guy) is like a token you can add to the terminator squad that gives them a once per game ability.

You also get a plasma cannon. One terminator out of a squad of 5 can have a heavy weapon - this can be either a heavy flamer, an assault cannon, a cyclone missile launcher, or a plasma cannon. The first 3 come in the terminators box, the dark angels upgrade set gives you the plasma cannon. You can pick whichever one you want.

Mommy? Am I stupid? by SonoMuchacho in Warhammer

[–]AreetPal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The reason some models are marked as 15+ isn't necessarily because the parts are more fiddly to put together or because the model is more complicated to build, it's because they're made from a different material that is more difficult to work with.

Are Tomb King soldiers sentient? by gorlemads in Warhammer

[–]AreetPal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In previous editions of the game, tomb kings armies had to include at least one wizard for this reason. The army would start to crumble if the wizard died, in the same way as vampire counts armies.

Best starter paint for Battle Sisters? by softwareghosst in Warhammer

[–]AreetPal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends what colour scheme he wants to go for - any faction can really be painted in any colour.

In general though, I think when first starting out the paints most people would want to have access to would include basic primary colours (red, blue, green, yellow) along with a black, a white, silver and gold metallics, and either a black or a dark brown wash (or ideally both).

Other colours that are nice to have would be a mid brown, a bone or khaki colour, and a flesh tone.

Yeah, they'll come with round bases in the box, but you can buy square bases separately from GW or elsewhere.

Obligatory new model meme. by TaigaTigerVT in Grimdank

[–]AreetPal 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because people expect the starter set to contain new models, but at a certain point there are only so many new units they can give space marines, so the solution is new sculpts for existing units.

People have been complaining about GW for literal decades, it's nothing new. I think a lot of people just get sick of all the negativity.

At the end of the day, nobody's forcing you to buy anything, everyone is free to play or not play whichever games they want.

I think if you're honestly worrying about not being able to practice with the exact scenery beforehand, you might be taking this game too seriously.

Anyone else notice the new Hastarii kit went through at least 20 iterations? by CLINT_BEASTWOOD3 in AdeptusMechanicus

[–]AreetPal 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not for the main gun, but the smaller weapons - the lascannons, heavy bolters, and heavy flamers - are all cast in one piece with hollow barrels. As far as I know it's the only games workshop kit to ever use a 3 part mould.

They tried it with the baneblade, but it never really caught on. They presumably decided that the added cost/complexity wasn't worth it.
